후판 압연공정에서 선단부 굽힘 예측을 위한 롤 바이트 형상맵 기법에 관한 연구 (A Roll-Bite Profile Map Approach for the Prediction of Front End Bending in Plate Rolling)

  • The front end bending(FEB) behavior of material that usually occurs in plate rolling is investigated. In this paper, a rollbite profile map approach that systematically predicts the FEB slope is presented. It is based on the concurrent use of shape factors and reduction ratios to ensure an accurate value of the FEB and its slope. In order to obtain the unit roll-bite profile map, the FEB slope model was decomposed into a temperature deviation component and a roll-velocity deviation component. By mapping the results of a series of finite element analyses to the unit functions of the roll-bite profile map, it was possible to obtain a realistic prediction of the FEB slope applicable to an actual plate rolling process. Thereby, the usefulness of the present approach is clearly demonstrated.

후판 압연공정에서의 판 선단부 형상제어 연구 (Ski-end shape control based on the model in heavy plate mill)

  • Studies on ski-end shape control at the top end of rolling plate in heavy thick plate mill by using FEM analysis and measuring system have been performed. Plate shape behaviour at the top-end on rolling by the two different methods in finishing rolling process has been observed. One is to minimize the height of ski-end by using pass line based on the relational model between shape factor and pick-up and the other one is to prevent turn down problem caused by the impact between table roller and down bended plate on rolling by using roll speed difference. To minimize the height of ski-end, the prediction models based on the FEM analysis and measuring data was developed. The control method of ski - end shape on finishing rolling process was applied in actual mill and the height of ski-end was reduced by about 50% compared with conventional operation.

열간 연속판재 압연기의 작업롤 전동피로해석 (Analysis of the Rolling Contact Fatigue for Work Roll in Finishing Mill of Hot Strip Rolling)

  • According to the number of cold-rolled coils, the amount of roll wear and thermal expansion, and roll gap profile were calculated, by using the actual data from the finishing mill. Also, based on those data, the calculations of the deflection, the flattening, and the contact pressure of vwork rolls and backup rolls were made respectively. Specially, in the calculation of contact pressure, the numerical results were obtained not only during the normal rolling, but also during the abnormal rolling, by modeling mathematically the dynamic impact force which occurs when the head section of the strip is threading through rolls. With those results the growth of the fatigue region and the fatigue damage of rolls were predicted. Also the optimum roll-grinding depth was determined to maximize the roll life.

형상압연시 연성파괴의 탄소성 유한요소해석 (The Elasto-Plastic Finite Element Analysis of Ductile Fracture in Shape Rolling)

  • During the shape rolling process the influence of reduction ration and taper of shape roller on deformation and limit of ductile fracture such as free surface cracks developing in the workpiece has been studied. The deformation behaviours were analyzed by the 3-dimensional elasto-pastic finite element method and the conditions of ductile fracture were determined from 3-dimensional elasto-plastic finite element method and modified Cockrogt-Latham criterion. The deformed geometry and prediction of ductile fracture by 3-dimensional elasto-plastic finite element method are compared with experimental results The calcuated results are in good agreements with experimental data. The analysis used in the study was found to be effective in predicting the shape rolling process.

  • Ring rolling process is simulated by using the general-purpose commercial finite element analysis software, MSC.Superform. Because the deforming region is restricted to the vicinity of the roll gap, only a ring segment spanning the roll gap is analyzed in order to save computation time and cost. First, a plain ring rolling of rectangular cross-section is simulated. Comparisons between computation and experiment show good agreement in the cross-sectional configuration of the deformed ring. Then, a profile ring with an external round groove is analyzed. The rolls with and without groove have been analyzed to compare the amount of side spread. It is found that the grooves in the rolls are effective in reducing the amount of side spread.

차원 해석을 이용한 수직압연에 대한 도그본 형상 예측 (Dimensional Analysis of Edge Rolling for the Prediction of the Dog-bone Shape)

  • Precision control of the width of slabs is vital for product quality and production economy in steel rolling mills. However, the formation of so called 'dog-bone' at the edge of the slab would affect the final width during the horizontal rolling that follows. Therefore, it is essential to predict and control the dog-bone shape. In this paper, a model is derived by using a number of finite element simulations for edge rolling and a least square regression analysis. The prediction accuracy of the proposed model is examined by comparing the predictions from finite element simulation with experiment results in the literature.

  • In the current study, we present a new model for predicting width spread of a slab with a dog-bone shaped cross section during rolling in the roughing train of a hot strip mill. The approach is based on the extremum principle for a rigid plastic material and a three dimensional admissible velocity field. The upper bound theorem is used for calculating the width spread of the slab. The prediction accuracy of the proposed model is examined through comparison with the predictions from 3-D finite element (FE) process simulations.

  • 스테인레스강의 내식성을 향상시키기 위한 고농도 침입형 질화층(S-phase)처리를 하는 논문들이 발표되고 있지만 테스트 시편이 아닌 실제 제품이나 가공품등의 질화 처리 하였을 경우 내식성향상이 아닌 저하되는 것을 볼 수 있다. 스테인레스강의 제품화 과정에서 압연 및 기계가공에서 발생되는 각종 문제, 가공경화로 인한 현상 및 질화 처리후 표면개질의 석출상이나 입계로부터 시작되는 크랙이 내식성을 저감시키는 경향을 살펴보았다. 이러한 경향은 봉재나 두꺼운 소재보다는 가공소재인 판재나 형상이 있는 제품에 더 심하게 나타나는 것을 보여준다. 소재의 관리와 질화 온도 및 여러가지 변수에 의해 최적화 되어 S-phase 질화층을 형성해야 내식특성을 유지 할 수 있다.

  • To diversify the area of application of UBET to the analysis of ring rolling which produces rings having more complex cross-sectional configuration, an element of triangular cross-section has been introduced and the corresponding kinematically admissible velocity field has been derived while considering the material flow between neighboring elements. The theoretical perdictions in roll torque and profile formation show good agreement with the experiments. The effect of process parameters such as feed rate and taper angle of the roll groove has been discussed.

  • 발전설비나 자동차 그리고 항공우주분야에 사용되는 각종 bearing, 원형부품들에 사용되는 ring을 생산하는 방법중, 가장 효과적이고 경제적인 방법은 ring rolling (ring 압연)이다. 이 방법은 직경 50cm에서 2m이상의 원형 ring을 연속적으로 짧은 시간내에 (한 ring당 약 1분) 생산 가능하다. 이제까지의 수학적 모델을 사용한 제어시스템은 ring의 단면적이 사각형인 제품에는 최소한의 오차로 생산 가능하였으나, plant의 생산성과 제품의 다양성을 위하여 ring의 단면적이 복잡한 것을 생산시에는 문제점이 노출되었다. 왜냐하면 기존의 수학적모델이 roll gap 또는 metal forming zone에 근거하여 modelling하였기 때문이다. 본 논문에서는, 이러한 문제점을 고전적인 수학적 모델을 기초로한 adaptive control system의 방법대신에, 축적된 control system설계와 운용 경험을 이용하여 설계한 퍼지제어기 및 그것의 실적용 그리고 그 결과를 소개한다. 실적용 결과는, 제조된 단면적이 상대적으로 복잡한 bearing의 형상이 (filling grad)이 제어기의 제어정도 판단기준이었는데, 99.5%의 형상도를 보임으로서 industry에서 요구하는 제품기준을 만족시켰다. 또한 짧은 제어기 설계 및 on-line optimization 기간 또한 이 제어기의 장점이었다.
