This study was conducted to identify the magnitude of first flush in small city urban area and to provide the basic information on the criteria of stormwater runoff management. Monitoring site was surrounded by residential area in Gumi city near to national industrial complex and the monitoring period was three months. Total watershed area was 24.9 ha, where 80% of the area is impervious (asphalt of pavement type). Periodic monitoring of conventional water quality parameters were conducted with six times of rainfall period. Event mean and site mean concentrations for all the parameters were calculated based on the analytical results. Particle size distribution was 9.82 ${\mu}m$ for $D_{0.1}$, 38.99 ${\mu}m$ for $D_{0.5}$ and 159.61 ${\mu}m$ for $D_{0.9}$ respectively. First flush phenomenon was detected highly in particulate solids than dissolved ones. The first flush criteria results by mass first flush contained between 44.4% to 58.5% pollutant mass during the first 30% of runoff volume. Mass first flush ratio and particle size distribution obtained in this study are expected to provide the basic information for the design and operation of non-point source treatment facility.

In this study, we have investigated the water quality and flow rate at the 3 sites of main stream and 11 sites of the branch stream of Hwang River from January, 2007 to 2010, and analyzed the effects on Hwang River with the purpose of using the data for as the fundamental information for water quality improvement and water resource management in the water system of Hap-Cheon Lake Upper Stream. The flow rate at 3 sites of the main stream and 11 sites of the branch stream increased during the rainy season between June and September, and continuously decreased during the dry season starting from autumn to winter. The results of correlation analysis with Pearson correlation coefficient showed that $BOD_5$ and $COD_{Mn}$, $BOD_5$ and T-P, and $COD_{Mn}$ and TSS at the 3 sites of the main stream had high correlation with each other. We have also analyzed the correlation between Chl-a and major factors at the 3 sites of the main stream. Chl-a and the water temperature Negative correlation coefficient and that of Chl-a and $BOD_5$, $COD_{Mn}$ Positive correlation coefficient showed. The N/P ratio at all the 3 sites of the main stream was higher than 16 by DIN/DIP and T-N/T-P, indicating that phosphorus is acting as the limited nutrient.

Intellectual output, such as research papers and patents, has increased due to the consistent investment of the government R&D budget, however, the economical outcome leaves much to be desired. These unsatisfactory results originate from the lack of information sharing about the technology's business compatibility and enterprise's business capability between technology supplier and technology user. This study aims at investigating the decision making process of technology commercialization by proposing an assessment model of the technology's business compatibility and enterprise's business capability. The assessment model was completed by selecting the key index through a literature survey, field survey and consultation with experts. The technology assessment model can be effectively utilized for technology licensing, technology start-up and technology selection in R&BD projects. However, the assessment indexes required for the basic science are not investigated in this study and some assessment indexes are differently interpreted by the individual appraisers. The assessment model will be improved through field application and additional studies will be conducted to develop the assessment model of basic science.

For this study, in order to understand the perception level of foot reflex therapy and clarify its related factors among customers using foot care service centers, a survey was conducted based on structured self-administered questionnaire with 181 users of three foot care service centers located in Daejeon between September 1 and October 30, 2011. The results showed that the average score in perception level of the subjects regarding foot reflex therapy was $32.19{\pm}5.32$(Score scale of the 11 items 0-44) and people with higher level of education had a significantly higher perception level(p=0.020).The perception level based on attitude and practice of foot reflex therapy was significantly higher in the group who do it "to heal illness"(p=0.034); and who "had illness" at the time when they started the therapy (p=0.030); when they used the foot massage for a longer period (p=0.000); and those in the group who would "recommend it"(p=0.004). In multiple regression analysis, among the factors that affect perception level of foot reflex massage, reason for using foot reflex therapy, health state when starting foot reflex massage, period of using foot reflex massage, and experience of recommendation to other people were selected as significant variables, with the explanatory power of 26.1%. The results suggest that perception level of foot care service users regarding foot reflex therapy are more correlated to variables that explain their attitude and practice than general characteristic variables.

This study aimed to examine the relation between subjective oral hygiene status of the elderly and oral health impact profile and to present it as basic data for the improvement of quality of life and oral care. The study subjects were 231 elderly people aged 65 and over. This study measured the oral health behavior and subjective oral hygiene status based on cross analysis by calculating the median of OHIP-14 to divide the above-median group into a subgroup and the below-median group into a superordinate group. Correlation and regression analyses were performed to examine the effects on the oral health impact profile. The oral health impact profile according to oral health behaviors was not significant. The oral health impact profile based on the subjective oral hygiene states is currently affected by oral hygiene status, masticatory problems, toothache, xerostomia and halitosis. As a result of regression analysis to confirm the effect on the oral health impact profile, much experience of masticatory problems, toothache, xerostomia and gum diseases is the most influential. This shows that the subjective oral hygiene status is not healthy as the oral health impact profile is high. It is considered necessary to establish an oral health promotion program to improve the quality of life of the elderly and active oral care methods in the future.
The biggest paradigm of the latest telecommunications is ubiquitous computing. It is a technology basis to realize ubiquitous society that would affect social, economical and cultural industries with positive influence. However, there is a simultaneous concern that the approach to ubiquitous society may violate one's privacy. Therefore, the existence of legal and technological regulation would be the biggest obstacle in further RFID technology and industry dissemination. Also, in business side, they must invest with enormous expense and technology if technological method is only approached for the solution. As in the research, 8 RFID applications, application process and inspection items and 85 appraisal list of "An impact assessment for the privacy protection in RFID applications" developed by P. K. Han(2006), will be used as an indicator to measure RFID privacy impact assessment. In addition, it is to develop RFID privacy impact assessment index by applying objective data with survey of applied specialists. This would provide a data with feasibility and reliability to RFID related companies and able to utilize policy making on RFID private data. In addition, it is expected to contribute as an efficiency tool for individual data to build basis of ubiquitous society.
The main objective of this study is to consider the necessity of introducing owner expenses in estimating the cost of traffic accidents, as is done in some advanced countries. It is known as "owner cost" in the U.S, "enterprise project price" in Japan, and "human cost" in the U.K. To achieve this, the seriousness and present state of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) of traffic accident offenders, which is generally not observed when traffic accidents occur, are evaluated; countermeasures reflecting personal characteristics are prepared according to degree of affliction. The results could be summarized as follows. First, the present condition and seriousness of PTSD from traffic accidents that has been estimated only within the accidents offenders are evaluated through a survey. Second, a distinction analysis model is developed. 'Insomnia caused by accidents' and 'mental daunting in accident situations or similar ones during driving' are chosen as the variables of the discriminant. Third, as a result of the construction of an Ordered Probit Model to comprehend the seriousness of PTSD, the variables turns out in the order of 'seriousness of the most damaged victim, 'nightmare about the accident', 'insomnia experience', 'mental daunting during driving', 'gender', and 'major driving area'. Finally, the cures reflecting characteristics of gender and region are suggested, which are preferred for degree of seriousness of PTSD. The analysis shows that the method to minimize the damage, such as decline of work efficiency, by moving ahead the rehabilitation of the offenders would be suggested and this could minimize the direct and indirect damages that could happen to business owners for whom the drivers work.

According to the "Safety Evaluation Detailed Instructions (Dam)", a precise safety inspection is carried out for dams that exceed a certain scale. However, as the Hydrological Safety Evaluation from various evaluation standards is designed to evaluate the safety of existing dams considering PMF(Probable Maximum Flood), the evaluation is much less applicable for most agricultural reservoirs. Therefore, the Hydrological Safety Guidelines for agricultural reservoirs are expected to be re-evaluated considering the diverse risk factors with the coefficient model and AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) in this study. The coefficient model has been developed by selecting the hydrological safety superordinate subordinate evaluation factors to reflect diverse risk factors of agricultural reservoirs. This study indicated that in the short term, improving the safety check condition evaluation grade will be useful to improve the hydrological safety of the agricultural reservoir because it can be performed immediately.
Purpose : This study was conducted to develop primary assessment tools to evaluate the relationship between symptom prevalence and symptom distress in cancer patients of Korea. Methods : A total of 196 patients diagnosed with cancer admitted in 5 general hospitals from January, 6 to January, 20 in 2003, were entered into the study. These patients were asked to complete the MSAS (Memorial symptom assessment scale). We classified these answers into prevalence and distress and then scored them according to grade and frequency. Results : The five most prevalent symptoms were lack of energy (82.1%), dry mouth (73.5%), pain (73.5%), itching (72.4%), and feeling drowsy (68.9%). Among 24 common prevalent symptoms, the ten most distress the symptoms were dry mouth (2.11), itching (2.07), pain (2.03), lack of energy (1.98), difficulty sleeping (1.96), worrying (1.94), "I don't look like myself" (1.91), constipation (1.88), and difficulty concentration (1.76). Conclusion : These 10 symptoms had high prevalence and distress in cancer patients of Korea. We suggest these symptoms to be applied in developing the primary assessment tool in cancer patients.
