  • Airlines tried to introduce training programs in connection with practical work in order to provide more effective education and training. To this end, airlines have been conducting evidence-based training(EBT) to strengthen the practical capabilities of aviation personnel and enhance safety culture. Airlines can systematically evaluate the capabilities and practical capabilities of aviation personnel by analyzing operational data and case studies for effective EBT model development. In addition, EBT models can be constructed by applying technical methods such as crew resource management (CRM) and a holistic approach that includes human factors. Due to the introduction of EBT, airlines will establish diagnostic and feedback systems for pilots' practical work, provide personalized education, and establish an education and training system that verifies the effectiveness of education through educational outcomes.

  • As our whole society has become increasingly aware of safety and emphasizes the importance of preventing safety accidents, the airline cabin service sector is also facing a strong demand to improve practical system for aviation safety education. In this regard, the development of appropriate safety education programs and the getting of human resources who can develop and operate such programs are becoming key issues. This study aims to provide academic and practical implications for safety education and training in airline cabins by reconfirming the importance and direction of safety education in the context of airline cabin services, and by specifying and establishing qualification requirements for personnel who develop and operate such safety programs. To this end, we review the content that should be included in safety training programs, the qualifications required of developers, managers, instructors, and examiners who develop or operate such programs, and how safety training programs can be continually improved as relevant conditions change in the future. In addition, we have also suggested ways to train appropriate managers, instructors, and examiners, including improving the compensation system for them, and how to effectively manage trainees. In order to secure a higher level of aviation safety in the future, it will be necessary to continue research on the development of more diverse and high-quality aviation safety education programs and the training of related personnel.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of self-esteem on the safety culture and safety behavior of airline pilots and to confirm whether job satisfaction has a mediating effect in these relationships. It was examined whether self-esteem directly affects safety culture and safety behavior, and indirectly through job satisfaction. As a result of the study, self-esteem did not have a direct significant effect on safety culture, but indirectly had a positive effect through job satisfaction. In addition, self-esteem had a direct significant positive effect on safety behavior, and job satisfaction partially mediated this relationship. This suggests that pilots with higher self-esteem practice safety behavior more actively, and job satisfaction can promote such behavior. These results show the importance of organizational support such as programs and support for enhancing pilots' self-esteem, fair compensation for improving job satisfaction, improving working environment, and providing career development opportunities in airlines, and are intended to be used as basic data for this.

  • As the scale of airborne system software increases, the use of OOT (Object-Oriented Technology) is increasing for functional expansion, efficient development, and code reuse, but the verification method for airborne object-oriented software is conducted from the perspective of the existing procedure-oriented program. The purpose of this paper was to analyze the characteristics of OOT and the vulnerabilities derived from the functional characteristics of OOT, and present a verification method applicable to each software development process (Design, Coding and Testing) to ensure the functional safety integrity of aviation software to which OOT is applied. Additionally, we analyzed the meaning of the static analysis results among the step-by-step verification measures proposed by applying LDRA, a static analysis automation tool, to PX4, an open source used to implement flight control software.
