A Study on Perception Difference for Service Quality of Abroad Logistics Center by the Characteristics of Shippers (화주기업 특성에 따른 해외물류센터 서비스 품질 인식차이에 관한 연구)

  • Shippers face uncertainty and risks until the delivery of goods to the buyer (importer). To avoid these uncertainty and risks, shippers use the abroad logistics center and then try to construct continuous contract relations. From this viewpoint, this study examines the motivations of shippers to take advantage of the logistics center and perception difference for service quality according to the characteristics of shippers. For this purpose, T-test and ANOVA analyses are conducted using SPSS 21.0. The results suggest the following implications. First, there are no differences in perception regarding the motivation to take advantage of the logistics center for the size and characteristics of products. Second, the main motivating factors are maneuver to competitors and meeting buyers' demands by using the abroad logistics center. Furthermore, there is the level of perception for service quality regarding packaging and labeling in the logistics center. In contrast, the problem process and the quality of the order progress information is higher. Finally, specific logistics services are required depending on individual products because each product's characteristics are different.

A study on ESG Management Guidelines for Small and Medium-sized Logistics Enterprises (중소·중견 물류기업 ESG 경영 이행 가이드라인에 관한 연구)

  • As global challenges, particularly climate change, become more pressing, there is a growing global awareness of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) management. Given the crucial role played by the logistics industry in the complex network of the global supply chain, various societal stakeholders are emphasizing the necessity for logistics entities to practice ESG management. Despite the comprehensive ESG guidelines established by Korea for all enterprises, a notable limitation arises from its inadequate consideration of the distinctive features inherent to logistics enterprises, especially those of a smaller and medium scale. Accordingly, this study conducts a thorough examination of existing ESG guidelines, sustainable management approaches in large-scale logistics enterprises, and prior research to identify potential ESG management diagnostic criteria relevant to small and medium-sized logistics enterprises, including aspects such as Public(P), Environmental(E), Social(S), and Governance(G). To streamline the diagnostic criteria, taking into account the unique characteristics of small and medium-sized logistics enterprises, this study conducts a survey involving 60 logistics company personnel and experts from academic and research domains. The collected data undergoes Principal Component Analysis (PCA), revealing that the four dimensions of information disclosure can be consolidated into a single dimension. Additionally, environmental criteria reduce from 16 to 3 items, societal considerations decrease from 22 to 7 items, and governance structures distill from 20 to 5 items. This empirical endeavor is deemed significant in presenting tailored ESG management diagnostic criteria aligned with the specificities of small and medium-sized logistics enterprises. The findings of this study are expected to serve as a foundational resource for the development of guidelines by relevant entities, promoting the wider adoption of ESG management practices in the sphere of small and medium-sized logistics enterprises in the near future. population coming from areas other than Gwangyang, where Gwangyang Port is located.

An Effect of Concreteness and Fairness of Service Contract on Performance of Service Provider in Logistics Outsourcing (물류계약 조항의 구체성과 공정성이 물류기업의 성과에 미치는 영향)

  • Even though logistics service outsourcing becomes widespread in manufacturing and service industries, logistics service providers encounter fierce competition and lower profit. Decreased profit has negative impact on service providers' competitiveness, which in turn threats successful relationship with shippers. In this paper, we investigate the factors which influence the performance of service providers. Factors related to service contract are examined and we test an effect of concreteness and fairness of service contract. PLS (Partial Least Square) modeling method is applied and validated using data from logistics service providing companies in Korea. In the model, service contract clauses are classified into two categories including cost and risk sharing terms. PLS analysis shows that partnership and performance of service relationship is improved when contract clauses are specified in detail. This study will contribute in providing an operational direction in effectively establishing a positive relationship between the logistics service provider and the shipper.

A Study on the Effect of the Bidding Stage Factors of Logistics Outsourcing Service on Trust, Cooperation and Service Satisfaction (물류아웃소싱 서비스의 입찰단계 요인이 신뢰, 협력 및 서비스 만족도에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • The bidding phase for logistics outsourcing services is critical for both shippers and logistics companies. According to the logistics bidding phase, the shipper should provide logistics operation information to logistics companies to resolve uncertainty. In addition, the logistics company can win the contract volume that was placed in the bid by expressing their experience and know-how, and proposing to share the risks and benefits of the shipper's logistics operation. Therefore, it is necessary to examine the factors that can be identified during the bidding phase for logistics outsourcing and how these factors affect the satisfaction of logistics outsourcing services. Based on the factors identified in the preceding studies on logistics outsourcing partnership factors and those on logistics outsourcing determinants, a survey was conducted on experts engaged in logistics companies, performing logistics for domestic shippers and analyzed using Smart-PLS. This study presents the following implications. First, in the logistics bidding phase, the shipper should provide its logistics operation information to logistics firms to resolve uncertainties. Details An in-depth explanation of the operation details will be presented via the bidding presentation, and on-site tours of manufacturing plants and logistics centers should also be carried out if necessary. Second, in the bidding phase, logistics companies should appeal through proposals to their competitiveness, such as experience and knowledge of the logistics of the shipper, and also consider alliances with other logistics companies to supplement their insufficient logistics services. Third, logistics companies should make proposals to share profits and risks through logistics outsourcing during the bidding phase, propose accepting risks from environmental uncertainties of the shipper within its capacity to an acceptable extent, and share the benefits of carrying out the shipper's logistics.

3자 물류업체의 정보화 수준 평가를 위한 모형 개발

  • 급변하는 기업 환경 속에서 기업들은 선택과 집중 전략의 일부로 기업의 역량을 전문영역에 집중하고, 물류관리 등의 업무들은 3자 물류업체에 아웃소싱하고 있다. 이로 인하여 물류관련 산업이 전 세계적으로 급성장하고 있으며, 국내 3자 물류업체들 역시 경쟁우위를 확보하기 위하여 규모의 경제를 통한 비용 절감, 물류 기업들 간의 파트너십을 통한 고객서비스 향상, 신속하고 정확한 업무처리를 지원할 수 있는 정보화에 노력하고 있다. 그러나 대다수 국내 3자 물류업체들은 규모가 영세하고, 정보화 투자 및 운영을 하기에는 자금과 인력이 부족하여 적극적인 정보화 추진이 어려운 실정이다. 이에 따라 3자 물류업체들의 정보화 수준 향상을 위해서는 정확한 정보화 수준 파악과 그에 기초한 정보화 정책 수립이 선행되어야 한다. 그러나 국내 3자 물류업체의 정보화 수준 평가에 있어 정부기관 및 다른 산업을 대상으로 한 기존의 정보화 수준 평가 모형을 그대로 반영하기에는 적합하지 않다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 국내 3자 물류업체의 정보화 수준을 파악하기 위하여, 3자 물류업체들의 특성을 반영한 평가 모형을 개발하고, 이를 국내 3자 물류업체들을 대상으로 설문 조사하여 평가 모형의 타당성을 검증하고자 한다. 본 연구모형은 물류산업에서 가장 활발한 활동을 하고 있는 3자 물류업체들의 정보화 수준 파악을 위해 잣대가 될 수 있으며 향후 정보화 정책 수립, 정보화 효과 분석 등의 사후 평가 자료를 얻는 데 활용 될 수 있다.

  • 최근 제조업체들은 비핵심업무인 물류관련 업무를 전문 업체에 위탁하는 물류 아웃소싱을 하고 있다. 이를 통해 기업들은 제품개발과 마케팅에 기업의 핵심역량을 집중하고, 물류 관련 비용을 절감하고 고객 서비스 수준을 제고할 수 있게 되었다. 최근에는 물류 아웃소싱이 파트너쉽을 바탕으로 한 공동소싱으로 발전되어가는 추세에 있다. 물류아웃소싱에 대한 사례연구는 향후 제조업체들이 물류아웃소싱을 하기 위한 전략을 수립하는데 있어서 좋은 가이드라인을 제시할 것으로 생각한다. 본 연구는 글로벌 물류기업인 UPS와 삼성전기 간의 4자물류 아웃소싱(4PL) 사례를 통해 4PL을 이해하고, 이와 관련된 주요 이슈를 파악하여 기업들이 물류아웃소싱을 하기 위한 협력 전략을 수립하는데 가이드라인을 제시하는데 목적이 있다. 사례의 내용은 먼저 삼성전기와 UPS간의 물류 아웃소싱 추진배경과 진행과정을 살펴보았다. 그리고 물류 아웃소싱 과정에서 발생한 문제들을 조직차원의 문제, 경영진의 단기적인 안목, 양사의 문화적 차이, 정보시스템의 통합, 그리고 성과에 대한 인식 차이 등 5가지 차원에서 살펴보았다. 본 연구에서 파악한 주요이슈들 측면에서 살펴본다면 물류 전문업체와 아웃소싱을 하고자 하는 제조기업들에게 많은 시사점을 제공할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

  • (사)한국물류협회(회장 서병륜)가 주관하는 '2008 제16회 한국물류대상' 시상식이 지난 달 13일 그랜드인터콘티넨탈호텔 그랜드볼룸에서 개최됐다. 이날 시상식에서 27개의 단체 및 개인 정부 포상이 이뤄졌으며 (주)하이닉스반도체의 남정곤 전무가 석탑산업훈장을, 권혁은 (주)하나로티앤에스 대표와 김정환 한국물류전략연구소 소장이 산업포장을 수상했다. 한국물류대상은 1993년 제정되어 올해로 16번째를 맞고 있는 국내 유일의 물류부문 정부포상이다. 한국물류 대상은 효율적이고 체계적인 물류혁신 노력을 통해 국가경제의 비전과 발전에 기여하고 기업의 물류혁신과 가치창출에 크게 노력한 기업(기관)과 개인을 발굴하여 포상함으로써, 물류의 중요성에 대한 범국민적 인식 확산과 물류혁신 풍토조성을 통한 기업경쟁력 강화와 유통경제 활성화를 도모하는 데 그 취지가 있다. 본 고에서는 2008 물류대상 일부 수상자들의 활약상을 살펴본다.

  • 현재 전자상거래시장에서는 기업의 경영부담을 줄이고 고속의 물류서비스제공으로 고객만족을 높여 시장에서의 경쟁우위를 확보하고자 하는 측면이 크게 부각 되고 있다. 이는 전자상거래의 물류활동에서 효율적경영관리 및 전략적파트너와의 우호적관계 유지 차원에서의 중요성이 기업에 인식되어지게 되었다. 이에 따라 기업은 경영부담을 줄이고 고속물류서비스를 위한 전략적방편으로 파트너제휴를 통한 물류외주화라는 협력전략을 선택하게 되었다. 그러나 기업은 물류활동에서의 비효율적관리계획과 전략적 파트너에 대한 정보분석 및 협력활동에서의 경험부족과 시스템의 부재에 놓여있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 물류활동과 전자상거래에서 보다 효율적 파트너관계를 통한 기업 경영부담을 줄이고 고객요구에 부합하는 고품질의 물류서비스제공을 가능하게 하는 방안으로 파트너관계관리(partner relationship management: PRM) 모델을 제시하였다.

  • The purpose of this study is to have a main change of korea logistics industry analysis and take in the whole situation and the characteristics about a logistics firms. In korean logistics industry, The rate of a carriage is among the low-level as compared with the increasingly high prices for diesel. besides, a national logistics cost and the sales in the transportation industry has increased steadily. On the other hand, the number of trucks and transfer companies has decreased steadily. This change is attributed to expansion of logistics firm size through the limit on a raise in the number of trucks and introduction of a direct consignment system. But medium and small logistics firm size is dwindling in numbers. In the meantime, 2PL since early 2000s has rapidly rose as powerful players in logistics industry by a strong Support of the parent companies. Government and academia have long noted the limit and problems of 2PL system and emphasize on the necessity of activating the 3PL system. So this study divided broadly into two groups that the primary characteristics of korea logistics industry are 2PL and 3PL. Through the results of this study, the management and financial perspectives mean that there is a considerable difference between 2PL and 3PL.

  • When comparing Korea logistics industry with advanced nations, in size, service scope, network and others, our domestic logistics industry is falling behind, and this problem will deter the efforts of South Korea becoming the logistics hub nation in North-east Asia. This study will focus on current conditions of th foreign and domestic logistics, presents policies and plans which will advance logistics industry in South Korea. The results of this study will promote logistics industry in Korea and attain the aim of being a Logistics Hub nation in North-east Asia.
