20세기 기술의 발달과 산업화에 따라 세계 각 국에서는 인간이 제어하기 힘든 거대 규모의 도시가 계속하여 형성되고 있다. 전 세계 대도시들 중 대기오염도가 심한 도시의 하나에 속하는 필리핀의 Metro-Manila는 1975년 11월 마닐라를 중심으로 총 13개 소도시와 4개의 자치지구가 통합되어 구성되었으며, 면적은 서울(605.5$\textrm{km}^2$)과 비슷한 636.0$\textrm{km}^2$이다. 인구 밀도는 약 15,617명/$\textrm{km}^2$로 서울(17,046명/$\textrm{km}^2$)보다는 다소 낮고, 전체 인구수는 서울과 유사한 약 1천만 명 정도이다. Littorophiloscia visayanensis n. sp. is described from Visayan islands in the Philippines. In the shape of telson, L. visayaensis is close to L. riedli Strouhal, 1966), L. nipponensis Nunomura 1986, and L. formosana Kwon and Jeon, 1993, but it is easily distinguished by the peculiar shape of male pleopod 1 endopod.

Philippines, having the unique combination between its traditional and vernacular culture and European culture during colonization by Spain over three hundred years, shows the variations of style and scale in domestic architectures. Bahay na bato, one of the typical house of recent stone house in Philippines, has been completed referring traditional bahay kubo and Spanish stone built house, adapting vernacular principles in traditional house and new Spanish culture and life styles. Especially, vernacular for climates, earthquakes, social and cultural conditions, environment and materials in traditional bahay kubo still alive in bahay na bato mingled with spanish architectural technology and culture. This study place emphasis on the vernacular characteristics in bahay na bato by considering the climate control method in traditional house and Spanish influences on Philippines house.

I devised a parenting training program in order to help female international marriage immigrants address child behavior problems. The target ethnic group for this study was south-east Asians, in particular Filipino mothers. Two group, each containing 7 mothers, were provided with 8 parenting training sessions. The participants, all with Korean husbands, were already trained in Korean traditional parenting value and positive parenting behavior. To test the effect of this program, pre-, post-, and 6-months follow-up tests were conducted. Resulted showed that the parenting training program improved positive parenting behavior, enhanced parenting self-efficacy, and reduced the children's problem behaviors.
