Subjective Skin Improvement and Safety of the Spicules-containing Cosmetics (스피큘을 함유한 화장품의 피부안전성 및 주관적 피부개선감 연구)

  • This study has purposes : evaluating how safe the skin is when applied with the Spicules-containing cosmetic, and whether Diamond-spicules is permeated into the skin and showed the efficacy of the active ingredients well. For these aims, women in their 30s and 60s were surveyed for skin irritation and changes after applying cosmetics to their skin for four weeks. As a result, Spicules-containing cosmetics were safer on the skin than general functional cosmetics, and in particular, in the case of cosmetics containing Diamond-spicules, statistically significant results (p<.001) were obtained in improvement of anti-wrinkle, firmness, moisturizing, whitening, alleviation of inflammation, and sensitivity. Thus, It has been proved Diamond-spicules containing functional active ingredients, not only as transdermal delivery system, but also can be used as multifunctional cosmetic material.

Healing Effect Assessment by the Autonomic Nervous Responses Using the Aroma-Treated Fabrics (자율신경반응에 의한 방향성 의류소재의 힐링효과 평가)

  • The healing effect of the aroma treated fabrics with lavender and lemon aromas was investigated by assessing the autonomic nervous responses of human body. For this cause Lemon and lavender microcapsules were coated on a cotton fabric using a water-based acrylic binder, respectively. And the study created a total of four aroma treated fabrics at a concentration of 2% and 5% respectively. Electrocardiogram(ECG), skin conductance, and Blood flow, of ten participants were measured for 30 sec at a stable condition, at a stress status (working memory task), and at a stimulation status (after rubbing aroma treated fabrics). Subjective sensibilities of the aromas were also evaluated. With regard to the responses of the autonomic nervous system, in order to understand how the values gained after the normalization process would cause different physiological signals between the stable state and the aroma-stimulated state as well as between the stress state and the aroma-stimulated state, the study conducted a non-parametric test, friedman test as well and analyzed tendencies. LF/HF turned out to be significantly different to the stress state, and according to the results of the post-hoc comparison, lemon 5% presented statistically significant differences among the lavender 2%, lavender5%, lemon2%. Lemon 5% stimuli increased stress but stimuli consisting of the lavender 2%, the lavender 5% and the lemon 2% decreased stress because of a psychological rest. And the stimuli of the lavender 2%, the lavender 5%, the lemon 2% presented a healing effect in this research.

Comparison of Eye Irritation Potency with Skin Irritation and Cytotoxicity Potency of Anti-wrinkle Agents (주름방지용 화장품원료의 안점막 자극성과 피부자극성 및 세포독성과의 비교)

  • In the present study, we examined eye irritation oj six anti-wrinkle agents (ascorbic acid, glycolic acid, all trans-retinoic acid, ginseng extract, retinol, EB). We also compared eye irritation with skin irritation and cytotoxicity in HaCaT cells by these agents. The highest eye irritation was found in glycolic acid, but all trans-retinoic acid showed the highest skin irritation. The rank of eye irritation was not correlated with the cytotoxicity of agents. This result shows that eye irritation potency by these agents were not correlated with skin irritation potency, and cytotoxicity in HaCaT cells.

작업환경을 위한 TLV의 근거 - PERCHLOROMETHYL MERCAPTAN(l)

  • Perchloromethyl mercaptan에 대한 직업적 노출기준으로 TLV-TWA 0.1 ppm(0.76 mg/$m^3$)으로 권고한다. TLV-TWA 0.1 ppm(0.76 mg/$m^3$) 은 눈과 코의 자극 그리고 불쾌한 냄새로 인한 불편함의 가능성을 최소화하는 수준이다. Perchloromethyl mercaptan에 대한 동물 노출 실험연구와 근로자들의 노출연구 자료는 매우 제한적이다. 사고로 확인되지 않은 농도에 근로자들이 노출된 경우, 발견된 증상과 징후는 눈, 목, 가슴에 심한 자극과 기침, 눈물, 호흡곤란, 메스꺼움, 구토, 빈맥, 청색증, 경련 그리고 폐부종에 의한 사망이다. Perchloromethyl mercaptan을 활용하는 생산설비에서 TLV-TWA 0.1 ppm 이하 농도의 증기에 노출되었을 때 질병을 유발하였다는 보고는 없었다. 피부흡수, 발암성 그리고 TLV-STEL을 권고하기 위한 유용한 자료는 충분하지 않다.

SPF Measurement and Cytotoxicity of Sunscreen Agents in Cosmetic (화장품에서 UV 차단제의 피부 자극성과 SPF 측정)

  • Consumers have recently preferred to purchase extensive UV intercepting products, which are waterproof and free from side effects on skin. During the testing of cytotoxicity (in-vitro) in neutral red (NR) method, cell survival ratio of UV-B interceptors decreased to just above 0.08 w/v%, and it was observed that the UV-A interceptors the ratio also decreased to just above 0.06 w/v%. In addition patch-tests of inorganic UV interceptors resulted in no skin irritation even below 10.0 and 11.25. In absorption curves, UV-B was most suitable for octyl methoxycinnamate (OMC) and UV-A for butyl methoxy dibenzoylmethane (BMDM). For this reason, $Nylonpoly^{TM}$ UVA/UVB the material of OMC and BMDM coated with Nylon & polyethylene, was used as the organic UV interceptor. Zinc oxide (ZnO) and titanium dioxide ($TiO_2$) was used as inorganic UV interceptors. The appropriate mixture ratio of ZnO and $TiO_2$ was 6 to 4:6% of ZnO, 4% of $TiO_2$ and 5% of $Nylonpoly^{TM}$ UVA/UVB were all combined and added to our sunscreen cream. The SPF value of in-vitro was 38.9. In practical application, each sun protection factor (SPF) duration of oil-in-water (O/W) emulsion and water-in-silicone (W/S) emulsion containing sunscreen cream of the same content showed that W/S type of sunscreen cream was 5 times as durable as the other. Therefore, this product is fit for use in swimming, climbing or skiing. This research is to minimize skin trouble caused by UV interceptors and to make one with proper softness, skin safety and UV intercepting efficiency.

Synthesis of Water-based Acryl Pressure Sensitive Adhesive for Skin Using Reactive Emulsifier (반응성 유화제를 이용한 피부용 수성 아크릴 점착제의 합성 및 특성)

  • In this study, a reactive emulsifier with vinyl groups was synthesized by using 3-butenoic acid and polyoxyethylene(20) stearyl ether. The synthesized reactive emulsifier was confirmed by FT-IR and $^1H-NMR$. In addition, the reactive emulsifier synthesized in the preparation of aqueous acrylic pressure sensitive adhesives was used and the properties of the respective pressure sensitive adhesives were compared to those of using commonly used nonionic emulsifiers. The solid content was measured in the range of 56.8~57.4%. In the case of the initial adhesion, the S20BA made with a reactive emulsifier was measured as $^{\sharp}13$. Peel strengths of the prepared adhesives were measured in the range of $0.66{\sim}1.05kg_f$ and the highest peel strength was observed for S20BA. As a result of the heat resistance test, S20BA showed the highest as $840^{\circ}C$. In order to evaluate the applicability of adhesives for skin, the pH value was measured as 7, neutral and also it was found to be non-irritation from primary skin irritation test results.

  • 살균제인 pentachloronitrobenzene(PCNB)의 직업적 노출을 위한 TLV-TWA를 0.5 mg/$m^3$으로 권고하였다. 이 수준은 간에 영향을 미치는 것을 최소화하기 위한 수준이다 피부자극과 피부 흡수에 관한 것은 증명되지 않았다. PCNB에 대한 발암가능성을 흰쥐와 생쥐를 대상으로 생물학적 검정을 한 결과, 생쥐에서 양성이었다. 이러한 결과는 생물학적 검정에 사용한 PCNB가 공업용이었고 불순물로 포함된 hexachlorobenzene에 의해 암이 유발된 것으로 확인되었다. 따라서 FCNB 물질은 발암성 유발 인자(A4;Not Classifiable as a Human Carcinogen)로 권고하였다. PCNB의 Skin, SEN notation, TLV-STEL에 관한 정보는 충분한 데이터가 확보되지 않아 제공되지 못하고 있다.

  • 눈, 피부 및 점막 자극의 가능성을 최소화하기 위해 옥시 염화인(phosphorus oxychloride)의 직업적 노출기준 TLV-TWA를 0.1ppm(0.63 mg/㎥)으로 권고하였다. 옥시 염화인 독성의 징후 및 증상으로는 두통, 현기증, 식욕 부진, 메스꺼움, 흉통 및 호흡 곤란이 있고 심한 급성 또는 반복 만성 노출에 의해서는 기관지 폐렴, 폐부종 그리고 신장 손상을 유발한다. 옥시 염화인은 물 또는 습한 공기에서 분해되어 염화수소와 인산을 형성한다. 피부, 감작제(SEN), 발암성 표기와 TLV-STEL을 권고하기에 충분한 자료가 없다.

  • 눈, 피부 및 호흡기 자극의 가능성을 최소화하기 위해 오황화인(Phosphorus pentasulfide)에 대한 직업적 노출기준 TLV-TWA는 1 mg/㎥ 그리고 TLV-STEL은 3 mg/㎥으로 권고하였다. 오황화인에 대한 독성 자료는 거의 없으며 오황화인은 습한 공기에서 인산(Phosphoric acid)과 황화수소(Hydrogen sulfide)로 쉽게 가수 분해된다는 사실에 근거하여 인산에 대한 독성 자료로 TLV를 권고하였다.(현재의 인산에 대한 TLV 문서 참조) 피부 흡수(Skin), 감작제(SEN), 그리고 발암성 표기에 대한 경고주석(notation)을 권고하기에는 유용한 자료가 충분하지 않다.

  • Recently, since atopic dermatitis is sensitive to skin irritation, it has been suggested that the development of a patch that can effectively exhibit adhesion and absorption to a specific local area while minimizing skin irritation, and capable of appropriate drug release should be given priority. In this study, we tried to develop a hydrogel patch that minimizes skin irritation, adheres effectively to a specific area, and promotes absorption. The atopic patch was formulated into a super-absorbent hydrogel sheet using a freeze drying method. Cell viability assay was carried out using keratinocytes (HaCaT cell) and fibroblasts (L929 cells). In order to investigate the physical properties, FT-IR, FE-SEM, porosity analysis and swelling behavior were investigated. As a result, the newly prepared HA-Dex hydrogel patch was verified by biocompatibility and physical evaluation. In addition, the manufactured hydrogel patch has sufficient moisture absorption capacity and can relieve itching of atopic skin, and is expected to be applied to various drug delivery products for the treatment of atopic dermatitis in the future.
