  • As increasing the emphasis of competence-based learning, Project-base instruction is adopted more with frequency at the educational field. This study focuses on developing the methodology of project-based instructional system. The first one is to manage the project independently not to link with any module. The second one is to link a project to a module. And the third one is to link a project to the more than two major modules. Also It suggests the tool for project based instruction. Before & after class conducting the inspection for increasing satisfaction of instruction by the systematic management and improvement, the project base instruction shows the positive effect to promote the creative personality and problem solving ability. The contentment of the class increases 7% more at the 2nd year than the 1st. As a result, it can derive the evaluation of the pupils' higher achievement rate.

  • The study is to analyze the value of satisfaction of instructional process to university students and to verify the relationship between the factors that how students make the team for class activity and instructional effect. According to this, the purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of lecture-based instruction and the project-based learning and verify the component factor of project-based learning so that this study can suggest various ways to participate in classes actively. For this study, the students participating in the classes from this researcher were selected and it was analyzed with quantitative and qualitative research. The qualitative research was in progress for 15 weeks class from September to December 2019 and the survey was done at the last day of 15 weeks class and project. Frequency, difference, correlation and regression analysis were conducted through SPSS 23.0 with 80 copies of the questionnaire. The result of this study, at first, the instructional effect and satisfaction of satisfaction on project-based learning is higher than teacher-centered instruction. Second, the team cohesion and team-work is giving a huge impact on instructional effect and satisfaction. At last, project-based leaning makes students participate in the class. Enjoy and satisfy in the course of class participation regardless of the result. Based on these findings, we are looking for the ways to use the project-based leaning and provide the objective data for the planning and production of class program to improve the effectiveness of the class. In addition, we discussed the implications and limitations of this study as well.

  • The purpose of the research was to find out the difference in students' academic achievement in Technology Education between students with a lecture, those who perform a content-related project after a lecture, and those who carry out a content-related project without a lecture. The results of this study are as follows. First, taking advantage of both a lecture and project-based lesson led to better achievement than using only a project in Technology Education subject of an academic high school in academic achievement in 'knowledge' area. I infer that it is because they reviewed what they had learned in a lecture and the preparation and practice of the project caused them to memorize it. Second, there was not a meaningful difference in academic achievement in 'understanding' area among the group with a lecture, the one with both a lecture and a project, and the one with only a project. However, considering the comparison of averages and the p-value of F-test, I can deduce that the test outcome influences students with a lecture and a project positively in terms of academic achievement. Third, there was not a meaningful difference in the academic achievement in 'adaptation' area among the group with a lecture, the one with a lecture and a project, and the one with a project. I can conclude that those results are because the difficulty level of evaluation was high and they produced a model just by copying textbook contents.

  • The purpose of this study is followings. First, we develop and apply teaching and learning methods for conducting team projects in flipped calculus class. Second we collect data such as team reports, individual reviews, and surveys during class activities. Third we survey the impacts on participation in student team activities, advanced studying, communication and collaboration. A total of 120 engineering and science majoring students participated in the 16-week long class study administered in team project learning styles in Spring 2018. There were two characteristics of this class. First students studied concepts and examples with video in pre-class and did the team project learning in the classroom. Second we used Google Drive to record team project progress, and to make sure the instructor to intervene appropriately in team activities. We conducted a team project inside and outside the classroom. This could lead the instructor to advise students and so their participation in team activity increased. As a result, it not only had a good effect on communication and cooperation, but also had an effect on advanced learning.

  • The effect of Web-based project learning on the science achievement and attitude of middle school students was investigated. Four classes of 9th grade at a coed middle school were divided into control and experimental groups. Web-based project instruction in which students utilized the Web to interactively carry out their projects was put into practice with the experimental group, while traditional instruction was employed with the control group. Pre- and post-test achievement and attitude scores were estimated through an analysis of covariance. Web-based project instruction was seen to be more effective in enhancing students’ science achievement and attitude than traditional instruction. In particular, the former instruction was most useful for improving higher level students’ achievement and attitude among the higher, middle, and lower level students of both groups, based on their academic achievement. The effect of Web-based project may result in eradicating negative cognition about gender difference.

  • Project-based learning (PBL) encourages self-autonomy and connects learning and real-life skills in the learning process. The purpose of the current study is to investigate students' life skills and self-regulated learning strategies in a PBL curriculum in order to examine how the proposed benefits of PBL are manifested in students' self-awareness of their learning process. Twenty-three students in a university in Korea participated in a 3-credit, 4-week, intensive PBL course for English majors. During the PBL course, students were asked to self-assess their life skills related to time management, cooperation, standard of work, and participation three times. In addition to the self-assessment, students kept reflection journals to keep track of their use of self-regulated learning strategies and progress which were also submitted three times. Based on the analysis of self-assessment and self-reflection, the results showed that students' perception of cooperation improved significantly during PBL. Furthermore, it was found that students also progressed through the three phases of self-regulated learning. Implications on suggesting on the use of PBL to encourage the development of life skills and self-regulated learning strategies are provided.
