  • 본 논문에서는 파티클 효과 응용에 대해서 나타낸다. 파티클 효과는 연기, 화염, 불꽃, 특수 효과를 이용하여 이러한 입자들을 표현하여 현실 세계에서 보다 더 현실감을 나타낼 수 있도록 한다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 파티클 효과를 적용함으로써 계절에 관계없이, 장소에 관계없이 콘텐츠를 제작하여 필요한 영상 분야나, 비디오 시각화 등 다양한 분야에서 사용될 수 있음을 나타내었고, 보다 많은 영역에서 특수 효과를 쉽게 연출 할 수 있음을 나타내었다. 따라서 실생활에서 다양한 파티클 효과를 재현함으로써 현실세계에서도 이러한 시뮬레이션을 구현 할 수 있음을 나타낸다. 또한 다양한 영역에서 콘텐츠로서 효과적으로 사용될 수 있다고 본다.

  • 실제 게임에서는 파티클 시스템을 사용하여 대부분의 특수효과들 (비, 불, 안개, 폭발, 분수 둥...) 을 만들어낸다 파티클 효과를 간편하게 게임안에 삽입하기 위한 전용 에디터를 사용하기도 하는데, 이것을 좀더 편리하게 만들어 보고자 하는데 본 논문의 초점이었다. 본 논문에서는 강화된 인터페이스를 가진 파티클 시스템을 만들어 보다 편리하게 효과를 생성하고 삽입하고자 한다. 기본적으로 매우 직관적인 효과들을 편리하게 표현해보고자 하는 의도에서 만들어진 것으로, 직관적으로 보이는 곡선을 그려 파티클의 이동경로를 미리 지정해주고 몇 가지 요소들을 제거함으로써 완전한 기존의 파티클 시스템과는 약간의 차별성을 두었다.

  • 하드웨어의 성능 및 처리속도의 급격한 증가와 그래픽 개발 환경의 다양한 발전은 사용자들에게 화려한 영상을 제공하고 있으며 영화, 게임, 가상현실, 의료영상 등에서 제공되는 3차원 그래픽스 애니메이션은 그 현실감을 날로 더해가고 있는 실정이다. 파티클 시스템이란 아주 많은 입자들을 생성하여 운동법칙에 따라 이동하도록 하여 불꽃, 폭발, 분수 등의 여러 가지 현상을 나타내는데 이용하는 기술이다. 본 논문에서는 입자를 다루기 위해 파티클 시스템 API를 이용하여 메모리의 절약, 계산 시간의 단축 등을 통해 하드웨어적인 제약을 극복할 수 있으며, 효과적으로 여러 가지 자연현상 즉, 특수효과를 구현한다.

Physico-Mechanical Properties and Formaldehyde Abatement of Particleboard Mixed with Gingko Tree Leaves (은행나무 잎을 혼합하여 제조한 파티클보드의 물리.기계적 성질과 포름알데히드 저감효과)

  • This study was conducted to find potentialities of the leaves of gingko tree (Gingko biloba L.) which has been planted as a roadside tree in Korea because of its resistance on air pollution, insect, fungi, etc. Various amounts of the leaves were mixed with wasted wood particles to manufacture particleboard. Their influences on physical and mechanical properties and the formaldehyde emission of PB were investigated. Physical and mechanical properties, such as density, modulus of rupture (MOR), and internal bond (IB) strength, of manufactured particleboard were not much different from those of control board. Formaldehyde emission values were decreased with increasing amount of leaves in PB prepared. Especially, particleboard made with 3 percent of leaves was decreased to $1.66mg/{\ell}$ in formaldehyde emission, which is about 40% lower emission than that of control. From these results, the leaves of gingko tree may be considered as a formaldehyde emission lowering additive in a functional PB manufacturing process.

  • 융합과 필터링(Fusion and Filtering: F/F) 기법은 신호처리, 제어 등 많은 공학분야에서 사용되며 현재 파티클 필터(Particle Filter: PF)가 최근 가장 각광받고 있다. 그러나 비선형 시스템과 모델링 하기 어려운 에러조건 때문에 기존의 파티클 필터조차 제대로 다루지 못하는 공학환경이 존재한다. 이에 파티클 필터뿐만 아니라 칼만 계열(Kalman varieties)의 필터 방법들을 통합할 수 있는 Constraint Manifold(CM) 기반 융합과 필터링 방법이 제안되었다. 본 논문에서는 CM 기반 필터링을 효과적으로 수행할 수 있도록 제한 조건 표현에 대한 방법론을 제시하면 시뮬레이션을 통해 기존 파티클 필터와의 성능 비교를 수행하였다.

  • Development of digital media and computer graphics related research had changed the overall stream of cultural art and our daily life, as well as its development also had an effect on a fresh and exciting area of cultural arts such as the new media art, interactive art and real-time performing. In this paper, we used emotional expression techniques that they lead audiences on the process of natural communication by combining the particle system of computer graphics with performance based screen art. Multi-Object Detection and Tracking Using Dual-Layer Particle Sampling (이중계층구조 파티클 샘플링을 사용한 다중객체 검출 및 추적)

  • In this paper, we present a novel method for simultaneous detection and tracking of multiple objects using dual-layer particle filtering. The proposed dual-layer particle sampling (DLPS) algorithm consists of parent-particles (PP) in the first layer for detecting multiple objects and child-particles (CP) in the second layer for tracking objects. In the first layer, PPs detect persons using a classifier trained by the intersection kernel support vector machine (IKSVM) at each particle under a randomly selected scale. If a certain PP detects a person, it generates CPs, and makes an object model in the detected object region for tracking the detected object. While PPs that have detected objects generate CPs for tracking, the rest of PPs still move for detecting objects. Experimental results show that the proposed method can automatically detect and track multiple objects, and efficiently reduce the processing time using the sampled particles based on motion distribution in video sequences.

  • In this study, the removal of $Si_3N_4$ particles from the surface of a silicon wafer was investigated by using supercritical carbon dioxide, the IPA co-solvent and cleaning additive chemicals. First, the solubility of several surfactants and binders in supercritical carbon dioxide solubility and particle dispersibility in the binders were evaluated in order to confirm their suitability for the supercritical cleaning process. Particle removal experiments were carried out with adjusting various process parameters and reaction conditions. The surfactants used in the experiment showed little particle removal effect, producing secondary contamination on the surface of wafers. On the other hand, 5 wt% (with respect to $scCO_2$) of the cleaning additive mixture of trimethyl phosphate, IPA, and trace HF resulted in 85% of particle removal efficiency after $scCO_2$ flowing for 4 minutes at $50^{\circ}C$, 2000 psi, and the flow rate of $15mL\;min^{-1}$.

Effects of Polyethylene Addition in Particleboard (파티클보드에 폴리에틸렌 첨가의 효과)

  • Low-density polyethylene (LDPE) powder was investigated as a hydrophobic additive component in particleboard (PB). PBs were manufactured using southern pine particles with a liquid phenolic resin binder at two press temperatures. LDPE at three application rates was used. PBs were tested for physical properties and water soak dimensional stability per the procedure ASTM D 1037. The results indicated that as the LDPE addition level and hot-press temperature were increased, the panel water absorption and thickness swell values decreased. However, the panel's physical properties were affected negatively by increased LDPE application rates. These results indicated that LDPE could be used only in limited amounts to improve the panel's water soak dimensional properties.

Effect of Agricultural Straw Addition in Particleboard Bonded with Melamine-urea-formaldehyde Resin (요소-멜라민수지로 접착된 파티클보드에 농작물 짚 첨가의 효과)

  • Agricultural straws such as rice and barley were used as partial replacement of raw materials for particleboard (PB) manufacture. A melamine-urea-formaldehyde (MUF) resin, based on 5 percent melamine addition of the resin solids weight, was synthesized in the laboratory for the bonding of PB. PBs were made using two straw particles based on 10, 20, 30, 40% oven dry weight addition with MUF resin. PBs were tested for physical and mechanical properties, and water soak dimensional stability. The results indicated that as rice and barley straws addition level were increased, the properties of IB, MOR and dimensional stabilities such as thickness swell and water absorption were decreased. Overall, the agricultural straws can be used at 15% substitution of raw materials for PB manufacture.
