LQ-PID Controller Tuning for the Second-Order System with Time-Delay (시간지연을 갖는 2차 시스템의 LQ-PID 제어기 동조)

  • This paper presents an optimal robust LQ-PID controller design method for the second order system with time-delay to meet design specifications. By LQR formulation of the second order system with time-delay, the tuning parameters of PID controller are related by weighting factors Q and R of cost function. The selection of weighting factors Q and R are chosen to satisfy such the design specifications as overshoot and settling time.

  • This paper introduces the concept of warped discrete cosine transform (WDCT) and an image compression algorithm based on the WDCT. The proposed WDCT is a cascade connection of a conventional DCT and all-pass filters whose parameters can be adjusted to provide frequency warping. In the proposed image compression scheme, the frequency response of the all-pass filter is controlled by a set of parameters with each parameter for a specified frequency range. For each image block, the best parameter is chosen from the set and is sent to the decoder as a side information along with the result of corresponding WDCT computation. For actual implementation, the combination of the all-pass IIR filters and the DCT can be viewed as a cascade of a warping matrix and the DCT matrix, or as a filter bank which is obtained by warping the frequency response of the DCT filter bank. Hence, the WDCT can be implemented by a single matrix computation like the DCT. The WDCT based compression, outperforms the DCT based compression, for high bit rate applications and for images with high frequency components.

  • Cellular Automata is a discrete dynamical system which natural phenomena may be specified completely in terms of local relation, can increase and decrease the difference of luminance locally according to transition rule by keeping the characteristic of target image. In this paper, we propose a noise reduction method by keeping the characteristic using transition rule of Cellular Automata, also we propose methods of effective transition rule, the selection of parameters, the selection of number of neighborhood pixels. For uniform distribution noise, Gaussian noise, impulse noise, we do an experiment on adaptive state using different mathematical operations and compare its results. It was confirmed that the proposed transition rule is based on fast convergence speed and has stabile results.

  • This paper proposed a new IMC-PID controller design method using the loop shaping method. By the application of the loop shaping method for IMC-PID controller which has only one design parameter and guarantees internal stability, we can not only consider such design specifications as gain margin, phases margin, and sensitivity functions but also obtain the loop gain by setting up the relationships between design specifications and design parameters. A systematic method to select design parameters of IMC-PID controller in order to meet the design specifications is suggested and its effectiveness is examined by the case study and analysis.

  • The pick & place module is used as a core module in the process equipment for producing and inspecting semiconductor components. The conventional pick & place module has the disadvantage that the precision and durability of the system are reduced and the size and weight of the module are increased by using a conversion device that converts rotary motion into linear motion. In this study, we proposed a pick & place module that implements up-and-down linear motion without a conversion device by improving such disadvantage and employs a linear motor with no limit on average thrust and travel distance. Design parameter values, that can reduce cogging force while maintaining average thrust by selecting parameters for designing a core type linear motor with a large thrust to volume ratio and analyzing the effect of cogging force according to design parameter changes through magnetic analysis, was selected. Average thrust and cogging force were measured for the pick & place module composed of the manufactured linear motor and compared with the design values.

  • In transportation missions using quadrotor, the payload may change the model parameters, such as mass, moment of inertia, and center of gravity. Moreover, if position of the payload is constantly changing during flight, the effect can adversely affect the control performances. To handle this issue, we suggest Model Reference Adaptive Control based on Linear Quadratic Regulator(LQR+MRAC) to compensate the uncertainty caused by payload. Firstly, the mathematical modeling with the fixed payload is derived. Second, Linear Quadratic Regulator (LQR) is used to design the reference model and baseline controller. Also, through the Stability method, Adaptive law is derived to estimate the model parameters. To verify the performance of proposed control scheme, we compared LQR and LQR+MRAC in situations where uncertainties exist. And, when the disturbance exist, the classic MRAC and proposed controller is compared to analyze the transient response and robustness.

  • 세계적인 추세에 근거하여, 디지틀 이동 통신용 음성 부호화 방식 표준안 선정을 위해 평가 대상 방식으로 DSBC(Dynamic bit allocation SubBand Coding), RPE-LTP(Regular Pulse Excited Long Term Prediction),CELP(Code Excited Linear Prediction) 등을 선정한 바 있다.본 논문에서는 이들 방식중 13 kbps RPE-LTP의 실현 및 성능평가에 관하여 다루었다. 먼저 음질에 중요한 영향을 미치는 분석/합성부호화에 근거한 파라미터 양자화 방법 그리고 채널 코딩과의 연계를 위한 비트 중요도 해석 등을 언급하였다. 끝으로 시뮬레이션 결과를 나타내었다.

  • 유비쿼터스 정보화사회의 도래와 함께 한정된 주파수자원에 대한 수요가 증가됨에 따라 이를 효율적으로 이용하기 위한 기술이 더욱 각광을 받고 있다. 이중에서도 스펙트럼 환경을 측정하여 사용하지 않은 주파수를 선정, 기존의 전파환경과 양립하면서 통신을 하는 CR 기술은 미래 무선통신의 핵심 기술로 인식되고 있다. CR 기술은 SDR 기술을 기반으로 스펙트럼 센싱(spectrum sensing) 기능을 활용하여 가용한 주파수를 선정하여 통신하는 기본적인 기능과 여러 가지 환경 파라미터를 지속적으로 업데이트하는 learning algorithm이 합쳐진 기술이다. 본 고에서는 CR 기술을 설명하고, CR의 응용으로 현재 표준화가 진행되고 있는 IEEE 802.22 WRAN 표준화 활동과 WG에서 검토되고 있는 기술, 즉 physical layer, MAC layer, 그리고 spectrum sensing의 주요기술을 소개한다.

  • 전기설비에 대한 접지의 근본 목적은 인체에 대한 감전으로부터의 안정성의 확립과 기기 및 설비의 기능 향상을 위하여 사고 시 고장전류를 대지로 안전하게 방전시켜 안전을 확보하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 변전소 접지 설계 시 고려해야 할 중요한 설계 요소로는 토양조건, 대지저항률의 측정과 분석, 구조체 접지방식의 이용, 고장전류 선정 등이 있으며 주요 설계 파라미터에 따라 접지 설계 방법 및 물량이 결정되므로 적정한 기술적, 경제적 여건을 고려한 설계 요소의 선정과 기준 정립에 대한 연구가 필요한 실정이다.

  • The drilling monitoring is a technique to assess rock mass properties by analyzing the mechanical quantities measured by drilling process. Since drilling survey can be conducted on real-time-basis for excavating blast holes or rockbolt holes, it may enables fast and quantitative prediction and evaluation of rock mass. Though a number of studies have been conducted on the drilling data, the selection of drilling parameters and numerical quantification of mechanical quantities or rock mass have not been well established yet. In this study, drilling tests were conducted with homogeneous rock specimen to identify drilling parameters and the relation of the drilling data. As a result, it is verified that above all drilling parameters, the percussion was the most important factor on the excavatability of hydraulic drilling.
