Chitosan is a natural chelating agent. It is derived from chitin which is a cellulose-like biopolymer distributed widely in nature, expecially in shellfish, insects, fungi, and yeast. The purpose of the present study is to investigate whether orally given water soluble chitosan can eliminate intraperitoneally injected radiostrontium (Sr-85) in mice. Water soluble chitosan and usual food was mixed as 10:90 by weight. The mixed food were fed for 60 (group 1) or 90 days (group 2). No chitosan was given to the control group. Each group consists of 5 mice. Sr-85 ($0.2{\mu}Ci$) was intraperitoneally injected after completion of prefeeding of usual or mixed food. The same food was given for more 5 days. The animals were sacrificed at the 6th day. Isolated spines, skulls, femurs, tibias, teeth, and tails were counted by a gamma counter. The retention of Sr-85 in bones was significantly lowere in the prefeeding groups (p<0.01). It was lowest in the 90 day prefeeding group. Therefore, prefeeding of water-soluble chitosan was effective on the removal of intraperitoneally injected radiostrontium.
The effects of mentoring education bring positive effects such as mentees' capacity building, knowledge improvement and positive attitude. The major difficulties that nursing college students experience in clinical practice are low adaptability, lack of confidence, etc. Therefore, this study developed mentoring education program to improve the problem-solving ability, learning attitude, and confidence in nursing skill before clinical practice for nursing college students and evaluated their effectiveness. In order to develop the program, a group of experts consisting of professors and clinical nurses selected 11 topics after discussing nursing skills and knowledge, which were most required in clinical practice. The program involved 14 mentors who operated practice, counseling, video clips, and contextual discussions for two days to a group of 9 to 10 people. Nursing college students who received the mentoring education program showed a significant increase in learning attitude and confidence in performance of nursing skills, but there was no statistically significant difference in problem-solving ability. This study is meaningful in that it has improved the educational effect by using mentoring methods, away from formal in-school practice education. In the future, it will be necessary to evaluate whether the mentoring education program affect the problem-solving ability of nursing students by applying it before, during, and after clinical practice rather than in a short period.

This study was to execute the flipped learning as a learner-centered teaching and learning method in the course on family living culture for home economics education students in a college of education, and to investigate its effect. Flipped learning was designed in three stages(Pre class/In class/After class), and a questionnaire survey was distributed to 40 students to measure the class satisfaction. In addition, class worksheets and reflection journals that students wrote after every class were analyzed. Students positively evaluated flipped learning because they could take non-competition class with questions and discussion, etc. escaping from a one-way lecture. This study found that the level of class satisfaction was high due to high learning effect as the dual learning was available in case of prerequisite learning or individual learning. In particular, the class using Visual Thinking was considered interesting and useful in understanding and summarizing the learning contents. This study has shown that the willingness to take other flipped learning class in their major was high. To conclude, this study has found positive learning effects in the learner-centered teaching and learning method or flipped learning for the course concerning family living culture. This researcher expects that flipped learning may be utilized in the secondary education in the future as an effective learner-centered teaching and learning method for the purpose of fostering talents for the future in the era of the fourth industrial revolution.
Comprehensive Cable TV Channels(CCCs) has been established as a political product around 5 years ago, and it's influence and position on the broadcasting field are keep increasing. CCC's stabilization is based on flooding the market with journalism. The repeating news and current affairs programs are appearing constantly in the afternoon which is CCC's primetime. The current affairs talk shows are a product of CCC's representative program type and it leads unique CCC style journalism. The guests of the current affairs talk show leading the program with critiques(comments) and discussions about political issues. The purpose of this study is to explore how these guests of the current affairs talk shows conceptually positioned as political mediating elites and same time to explore the television political landscape through the representative current affairs talk shows from TV chosun, Channel A, MBN, JTBC which are present by these political elites. This study wants to find out about that television political effects from CCCs which exemplified into certain directions by these political mediating elites saying their political biases and expresses their feelings drastically that causes high ratings and brings people's attention. The guests who called political mediating elites in this study are mostly considered to be extreme rightist, conservatives, conservative-centrist and they have close relationship with certain political party or political group. The political mediating elites gain the popularities and have great influence on the public from performing the television politics through CCCs' current affairs talk shows and use that to make political exchange connections with political groups. Therefore this study wants to point out that CCCs' current affairs talk shows are situated in political rally, exchange connection, so current affairs talk shows are existing only for political battle field.
The purpose of this study was to design the coaching strategies for the problem based learning and examine 'the problem situation' to analyze the process of learning as it applies to the students' perception on problem based learning. The steps of this model were as follows: 1) presentation of the problem situation 2) confrontation of the problem 3) know/ need to know 4) definition of the problem statement 5) collection and sharing of information 6)generation of possible solutions 7) assessment of the best fit of solutions 8) presentation of the solution. Problem-based learning steps and coaching strategies were designed and implemented to 2nd grade high school students for the environment teaching unit. The results demonstrated that group discussion in the know/need to know step was most helpful for students to review what they know and generate solutions. At first students tend to state problems widely but through repeated group discussions they gradually clarified the problems. In the students' personal reflection notes and perception questionnaire of problem-based learning, many students especially showed difficulties in defining the problem statement. In contrast they participated actively in the learning process and express their opinions enthusiastically. Therefore, this study suggests that developing problem situation based on real context is of great importance for implementing a problem based teaming model continuously.

We developed the novel coursework of 'NIE community activity teaching-learning plan' in the unit of 'Clothing Life' of the 7th 'Technology-Home Economics' curriculum and applied it to classes in the middle school. The educational themes of 'Textile and Cloth', 'Purchase, Usage and Storage of Clothes', 'Laundry of Clothes', Recycling and Disposal of Clothes' were extracted from ten kinds of textbooks. And eight lessons of NIE community activity teaching-learning plan were developed. Ninety-seven students at second grade in 3 classes of the middle school were randomly enrolled in this study. After learning, their environmental recognition and educational interest and attitude on the class of NIE community activity were investigated. The general environmental recognition of most students was improved via NIE community activity, which is emphasizing on the analysis of articles of newspapers, the critical and creative thinking, and the mutual discussion. The environmental recognition related to 'Textile and Cloth', 'Purchase, Usage and Storage of Clothes', 'Laundry of Clothes', Recycling and Disposal of Clothes' was significantly improved. Educational interest and attitude on the class of NIE community activity were also improved of great significance. The novel contents and methods of NIE community activity were evaluated to help students understand the class better and enhance their environmental recognition higher. With these results, NIE community activity teaching-learning plan might not only improve the educational interest and attitude, but also enhance the environmental recognition of the students.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the contents related to the strata in the elementary science textbooks and to investigate the strata concepts of preservice elementary teachers. As a result of the study, most of the strata knowledge in elementary textbook has an explicit sentence structure, such as A is B. it is limited to being used as a subject of discussion and debate among students in science classes. Formal knowledge, although its meaning is clear, is disadvantageous as a material for core competency education. Regarding strata concepts, 70% of preservice elementary teachers thoughts that heat and pressure were the only key factors in turning sediments into hard rocks. Regarding whether information about the natural information in the geological period can be obtained through the strata, 20% thought that information on the natural environment could be obtained only through fossils and not from the strata. Even 80% of preservice elementary school teachers who thought that informations on the past natural environment could be obtained from the stratum showed a lot of scientific misconceptions in the information contents. In conclusion, in order to increase the effect of core competency education through elementary science education, it is necessary to review the form and contents of strata knowledge presented in elementary science textbooks.

This study examined how different types of remote video lectures, which universities are using in earnest now due to the COVID-19 pandemic, impact the academic achievement of learners. Zoom-based remote video lectures were divided into two types-general lecture-centered and group task-oriented-and experimental and control groups were set up accordingly. An achievement test and a questionnaire were conducted to determine how academic achievement differed between these two approaches. The achievement test revealed no significant differences in achievement scores between the two groups. Meanwhile, the questionnaire regarding satisfaction with Zoom-based video lectures indicated that both groups were highly satisfied. Participants in the general lecture-centered type group cited the effect of learning, their instructors' class preparation and attitudes towards the class, and the promotion of participation in learning activities as the causes of their satisfaction, while participants in the task-oriented type group highlighted communication and sharing, the efficiency of group discussions, and the moderate difficulty level of group tasks as the reasons for their satisfaction with the video lectures. Remote video lectures in the untact era are becoming increasingly common, and educators will need to develop various Zoom-based teaching strategies to maximize their efficiency.
This study aims to inspect the effect of the yungbokhap education on the development of students' mathematical competence by analyzing students' mathematical discourse in math-based yungbokhap instruction designed by Moon(2014). Specifically, this research focused on the analysis of students' participation structure. The reuslts shows that the students' competence for mathematical communication and inquiry has been improved through the instruction. In particular, the students were increasingly engaged with consensual talk. Also, in the beginning stage, the students tended to unconditionally criticize for others' mathematical opinion. Through the class participation, they gradually developed the competence to express their mathematical ideas to their peers with reasonable mathematical bases. These results suggests that the mathematics-based yungbokhap instruction has positively contributed to the improvement of students' mathematical competence. Based on the results, this paper presented implications for mathematics-based yungbokhap instrcution.

In this paper, we designed the on-line Real-time Video Communication Learning System(RVCLS) for Web-based project learning and develop programs for test groups. And we have also analyzed how the Web-based learning using RVCLS change the students' perception on the classroom environment, using the WIHIC which is the classroom environment examination tool As a result, the Web-based project learning activities using RVCLS had affirmative effects on the eight areas of classroom environment such as students unity, teacher support, participation in class, spontaneity, exploration activities, task-oriented mind, cooperative attitude, and equality. Also, the web -based project learning using RVCLS is expected to help students enhance the self-directed learning capacity and increase abilities to use ICT.
