  • This study focuses on the culture-based revitalization strategy in creative rural areas. To this end, we first summarized the concept of creative village, which has been discussed in Japan and the West. Also, based on the relationship between them, we proposed a revitalization model of creative villages through the culture and arts. In this process, the concept and relationships were examined in detail through the example of Miryang Theater Village in Miryang. In addition, this study analyzed the problems of Miryang Theater Village and applied it to the concept of creative village and suggested an alternative. Through this process, we reconsidered the meaning and possibility of cultural arts in the creative village. And, it was confirmed that the cultural arts could be realized through the balance and organic linkage between the elements of creative villages in order to localize them in combination with the regional specificity of rural areas.

  • Angle has a variety of aspects, such as figure, measurement, and rotation, but is mainly introduced from a figure perspective and a quantitative perspective of the angle is also partially experienced in the elementary mathematics textbooks. The purpose of this study was to examine how the angle concept introduction and development pattern in elementary school mathematics textbooks are linked or changed in middle school mathematics textbooks, and based on this, was to get the direction of writing math textbooks and implications for guidance. To this end, 57 math textbooks for the first grade of middle school were collected from the first to the 2015 revised curriculum. As a result of the study, it was found that middle school textbooks had a greater dynamic aspect of each than elementary school textbooks, and the proportion of quantitative attributes of angle was higher in addition to qualitative and relational attributes. In other words, the concept of angle in middle school textbooks is presented in a more multifaceted and complex form than in elementary school textbooks. Finally, matters that require consensus within elementary, secondary, and secondary schools were also proposed, such as the use of visual expression or symbol, such as the use of arrows and dots, and the use of mathematical terms such as vertex of angle and side of angle.

  • This study aims to provide an intellectual understanding of the problems of Liberal Arts, in the light of the philosophy of Derrida and Ricoeur. Especially, we consent to the 'Right to philosophy' in the thought of Derrida and to the 'Dialogism' in the philosphy of Ricoeur. According to Derrida, the Right to is linked to human rights. If human rights are important to students, the Right to philosophy is also essential for them. For we must apply the Right to philosophy in the Liberal arts. According to the philosophy of Ricoeur, the dialogism can be interpreted by the possibility of communication and the dialogical method. Dialogical method connects two often conflicting or different themes. We can say that it is somehow a discussion between different. This confrontation is to strike a balance between different perspectives. Anyway, thanks to the two themes, the Right to philosophy in Derrida and the dialogism in Ricoeur, Liberal Arts course will be enriching.

  • This study focuses on drivers' risk perception & construct in risk scene. The measures used were the scores of hazard perception, namely the subjects' evaluation of the degree of risk through the 'Q-sorting' with 30 drivers. The subjects were divided into 3 groups according to their evaluating score, Z-score, road users' hazard(type 1), environmental hazard(type 2), situational hazard(type 3). And ten constructs derived from Q-sorting were compared through 'consensus item analysis'. It suggest that there are different in constructs for risk perception. Then those results are discussed in terms of theoretical and practical implication of traffic safety including accidents analysis and drivers' education.

  • The purpose of this study was to study to the effect of presenting SBF questions on the level of conceptual achievement and eye movement of elementary students in seasonal constellation learning that requires systems thinking. In this study, the effectiveness of SBF questions was divided into experimental groups and comparison groups, and scientific texts with different question types were presented to analyze the level of conceptual achievement and differences in eye movement of sixth-grade elementary students. Data analysis quantitatively analyzed the pre- and post-test results of the developed concept test paper and the eye movement data when learning scientific texts related to seasonal constellations. As a result of the study, first, the SBF question was a valid learning strategy for learning seasonal constellations. The SBF question showed a statistically significant difference (p<0.05) in the pre- and post-test between groups, and a statistically significant difference (p<0.001) in the pre- and post-test within the group. Second, SBF questions had a positive effect on students' learning by inducing learners with low preconceptions to area of interest that help them achieve concepts. In other words, when presenting SBF questions with visual data from a space-based perspective, it was confirmed based on the results of eye movement analysis that there was a significant difference in total fixation count (p<0.01) of learners. On the other hand, for learners with high scientific preconceptions, the effect of exploration was not significant because the preconceptions of the learners themselves acted as a hard core rather than the effect of SBF questions. This study is different from existing seasonal constellation learning studies in that it provides quantitative data through pre- and post-test and eye movement analysis in the seasonal constellation learning process, and can help elementary students learn seasonal constellations.

  • The purpose of this study was to identify students' conceptions and their conceptualization traits in terms of the explanation of subjects: human, animals, and plants. A questionnaire was specially developed to make sure students' conceptions of evolution, students' explanation patterns with the five evolutionary explanations: creationism, internal will explanation, theological explanations, use and disuse explanation and natural selection after mutation and perceived ideas of evolution in terms of the genetic characters of human, animals and plants. 1,540 elementary, middle and high school students participated in responding to the questions. The data was collected and analyzed cross-sectionally by age. Results showed that students' evolutionary explanations were different among each subject: human, animals and plants. Students had concentrated with more 'theological explanations' than 'internal will explanation' and 'use and disuse explanation' about plant evolution. 'Natural selection after mutation explanation' was less represented in explaining human characters. This result showed that the anthropocentric thoughts had influenced students' evolution conceptions. Accordingly, as student's age, 'theological explanation' and 'internal will explanation' became least used in explaining the theory of creation. 'Use and disuse explanation' attained more representation in their explanation. In addition, the diversity of students' evolutionary explanations was getting less attention as age increases. Among youngers, 'theological explanation', 'internal will explanation' and 'use and disuse explanation' showed an even number of responses. The elders responded with more 'use and disuse explanation'. This result let us infer that 'use and disuse explanation' was strongly adhered to by student cognitive structures. Many students recognized that evolution was a kind of scientific hypothesis with little evidence. They have had a little interest in evolution and conceptualized it through informal educational sources. This study mentions that to teach evolution more effectively, teachers should make 'use and disuse explanation' adhere strongly to students' cognitive structure.

  • This study was conducted to confirm the necessity of analogical thinking and to empirically verify the effectiveness of analogical reasoning through the visual representation by analyzing the factors of problem solving depending on analogical conditions. Four conditions (a visual representation mapping condition, a conceptual mapping condition, a retrieval hint condition and no hint condition) were set up for the above purpose and 80 twelfth-grade students from C high-School in Cheong-Ju, Chung-Buk participated in the present study as subjects. They solved the same mathematical problem about sequence of complex numbers in their differed process requirements for analogical transfer. The problem solving rates for each condition were analyzed by Chi-square analysis using SPSS 12.0 program. The results of this study indicate that retrieval of base knowledge is restricted when participants do not use analogy intentionally in problem solving and the mapping of the base and target concepts through the visual representation would be closely related to successful analogical transfer. As the results of this study offer, analogical thinking is necessary while solving mathematical problems and it supports empirically the conclusion that recognition of the relational similarity between base and target concepts by the aid of visual representation is closely associated with successful problem solving.

  • It is necessary to produce and maintain interior lighting design reasonably and actively. Based on the lighting design applicable to interior design, the purpose of this study is to take into consideration the public design of public facilities installed in neighborhood parks and thereby to suggest a module-type variable interior lighting product design for reasonable use. To achieve that, relevant studies were reviewed to find the basic concepts of a module and the best cases of interior lighting applicable to interior design. To draw a new concept of the lighting design to which the concept of a module is applied, this study suggested the design direction for practical product development and a module-type design featuring easy process, product storage, assembly, and management, analyzed the reasonable maintenance direction for the development of lighting design, and proposed a case of design development applicable to the development of a new product design. Through cognitive strategy process, the design was made. This process, as a conceptual strategy, included the step of interior environment analysis, the step of lighting maintenance, the step of variable mechanism, and the step of emotional activation. These steps were connected with formative beauty of design so as to suggest a MLD(Module Lamp Design) strategy. In this way, this study tried to connect humans' free application for a space to a module product and to apply humans' visual approach and free conceptual value to MLD cognitive strategy design process for development.
