  • Recently, fake news has attracted worldwide attentions regardless of the fields. The Hyundai Research Institute estimated that the amount of fake news damage reached about 30.9 trillion won per year. The government is making efforts to develop artificial intelligence source technology to detect fake news such as holding "artificial intelligence R&D challenge" competition on the title of "searching for fake news." Fact checking services are also being provided in various private sector fields. Nevertheless, in academic fields, there are also many attempts have been conducted in detecting the fake news. Typically, there are different attempts in detecting fake news such as expert-based, collective intelligence-based, artificial intelligence-based, and semantic-based. However, the more accurate the fake news manipulation is, the more difficult it is to identify the authenticity of the news by analyzing the news itself. Furthermore, the accuracy of most fake news detection models tends to be overestimated. Therefore, in this study, we first propose a method to secure the fairness of false news detection model accuracy. Secondly, we propose a method to identify the authenticity of the news using the social data broadly generated by the reaction to the news as well as the contents of the news.

  • The purpose of this paper is to examine the process of Islamization in Java, focusing on religious discourse among Muslim intellectuals. How Islamic tradition and knowledge have been perceived and utilized and how they have interacted with those of non-Islamic origin will be discussed. For this, three Islam-related books written in different phases of Islamization are to be analyzed: Babad Tanah Jawi compiled by Mataram court in the 17th century, Serat Cabolek written by a court poet in the late 18th or early 19th century, and Fikih Anti-korupsi published by reformist and scriptural organization of Muhammadiyah in 2006. Babad portrays conversion to Islam as a process which does not demand a dramatic outward change in religious practice. Scriptural tradition of Islam and the dichotomy between what is Islamic and what is not were not mentioned in order to explain conversion. Spiritual and mystical enlightenment was emphasized heavily, and for this, the importance of non-Islamic traditions was fully acknowledged. Serat tells us that this period was characterized by the surge of scriptural and shariah-minded Islam, maintenance of non-Islamic traditions, clashes between scriptural Islam and old religious traditions, and Javanese efforts to harmonize these. In Fikih, non-Islamic tradition is replaced by scriptural Islam and disappears totally. Interpretations based on the Scriptures, however, do not monopolize it and are used together with mode of analysis from the West. It is too much to call this 'intellectual syncretism', in that Islamic Scriptures and Western knowledge do not mix but stand side by side. Three books under examination reveal that the process of Islamization in Java has not been uniform. It has been conditioned and shaped by local socio-cultural and historical circumstances, where active engagement and intellectual exercise of Javanese Muslims have played key roles. Even Islamization in the last few decades is not an exception. The surge of scripturalism and fundamentalism does not simply bring about a move to Arabization. Interacting with local intellectual and socio-cultural milieu, this has produced a sort of intellectual hybridity, which is unique to Muslim society of Java.

According to the research results, the regional image of 2015 was expressed with image cognitive elements of the nearby place name or place etc. such as 'Jangho Port', 'Donghae', and 'Beach'. However the regional image both 2016 and 2019 were changed with image cognitive elements of 'SamcheokSolbich' which is a special place within region. • The purpose of this study is to understand the relationship between fear and anger emotions in the discourse produced by the media during the period of major emerging infectious diseases (SARS, Swine Flu, MERS, and COVID-19) that occurred since 2000 in Korea. The researcher collected editorial articles of the major daily newspaper after a significant epidemic of new infectious diseases and analyzed them using the Extended Parallel Processing Model (EPPM) and text mining techniques. In all epidemic times, fear appears stronger than anger, but the smaller the fear, the greater the risk control message is produced. In detail, fear emerges strongly in the discourse of the risk of infectious diseases or the economic crisis. Anger appears strong when the government's quarantine failures, groups where group infections occurred, and concealing information about infectious diseases. In this process, anger is strongly expressed against the factors that threaten the safety of society. Anger is also an emotion that can justify strong quarantine, but it can be the basis for discourse on minority hate. In this respect, anger is a two-sided emotion, so it must be handled carefully in the media.
