A Qualitative Analysis of Affective Components Influencing the Teaching of Computer Education (컴퓨터교과교육의 교수활동에 영향을 미치는 교사의 정의적 요소 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to explore components of affective domains for teaching activities regarding computer education in elementary school. In addition, we investigated various influences on the components from teachers' responses. This paper included qualitative data collected from a total of thirteen teachers. Using qualitative analysis methods, we identified teachers' positive and negative emotions, attitudes, self-efficacy, expectations, interests, and internal and external motivations as well as various influences on the affective components. Therefore, we emphasize the importance of teachers' cognitive domains as well as affective domains to achieve the goals of the teaching of computer education. This study will contribute to research pertaining to the affective domains supporting successful teaching of computer education.

A Study on Development of Libraries' Information Literacy Program based on Integrated Tasks to Support the Free Semester System (자유학기제 지원을 위한 통합 주제 중심의 도서관 정보활용교육 프로그램 개발에 대한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest the developmental strategies of information literacy program based on the integrated topics to promote inquiry abilities of middle school students who take part in the free semester system. To that end, the content of the 2015 revised curriculum on a national level was analyzed to develop 6 inquiry themes that incorporate Korean, Social Studies, Music and Art. The instruction and learning guide were consisted of three stages of forming a background knowledge, researching and creating and evaluating the conclusion of the research. The detailed activities for research step were consisted of the four steps of recognition of the problem, information analysis and interpretation, compilation of information and evaluation for each activity. Among the themes "environment" and "appreciation" were applied to a public library and a middle school library as a trial. The trial application saw that students took an interest in programs that subject themes are link with various topics. They were also very satisfied with such programs.

The effects of Application of Science Improvement Activity Program on Science Process Skills of Elementary School Science High Achievers (과학계발활동 프로그램 적용이 과학성적 우수아의 과학 탐구 능력에 미치는 효과)

  • This study organized a Science Improvement Activity Program designed for the excellent students in science in 5th and 6th grades. After application the effect of the program on science process skills was analyzed. The Science Improvement Activity Program was applied to the experimental group as a club activity after school during the semester. The results of this study were as follows: First, the students participated in the Science Improvement Activity showed an increase in the science process skills compared with those who didn't. Second, it was found have improved in enhancing their science process elements of observation, measurement, data analysis, forming hypotheses, and controlling variables. It is expected that the development of activity programs and their active application should be done in order for schools to provide science education according to each student's capacity from various angles.

The Analysis of 'General Computer' Textbooks in Commerce·Information High Schools (상업·정보계 고등학교 '컴퓨터 일반' 교과서의 분석)

  • In this paper, both content analysis and Romey analysis were employed to analyze three 'General Computer' textbooks used in commerce and information high schools. The content analysis was employed to study the organization and contents of the textbooks, whereas the Romey analysis to determine the inquisitive tendency of four sections - Text, Data, Activity and Evaluation. The results from the content analysis showed that textbooks differed in the number of subsections, the number of pages in each section, and the number of concepts introduced in each section. Also, results from the Romey analysis demonstrated that the section Text in all the textbooks was written with a low level of inquisitive tendency, but also that they differed in that two other sections Data and Activity in one textbook exhibited a high level of inquisitive tendency while the other section Evaluation in two textbooks did. Using the aforementioned results, we proposed ways to improve the readability of 'General Computer' textbooks.

The Development and Application of Informal Gifted and Talented Education program utilizing Local Resources in Yeongheung Island (영흥도 지역자원을 활용한 학교 밖 영재 프로그램 개발 및 적용 효과)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop the informal education based elementary gifted education program utilizing local resources in Yeongheung island for enhancing the creative problem solving, science process skills, scientific attitudes. This program was totally consisted 36 lessons and 3 part. For this purpose, 7 weeks' informal gifted education program utilizing local resources was treated to a class students who were 5th graders of elementary school in Yeongheung island. The results of this study were as follows : First, the change of science creative problem solving ability in the gifted class was found statistically meaningful difference. Second, science process skills were showed statistically meaningful difference. Third, scientific attitudes were not showed statistically meaningful difference. Fourth, the student responses about effectiveness of this programs were generally positive. Therefore, the gifted education programs showed meaningful results. Based on the results of this study, a number of studies to overcome the limitations will be needed.

  • This study attempts to explore the educational applicability of webtoons. Webtoons have very useful educational elements in educational environments. First, they are extremely popular among learners of the internet age and not only do webtoon images provide immersiveness and enjoyment to learners in class environments based on text but the narrativity and contextuality of webtoons can also provide abundant material in connection with the subject. Also, the interactivity of the Web 2.0, a space where webtoons are circulated, can also be utilized in educational environments. This study attempts to explore grounds for detailed approaches for the educational applicability of webtoons using theoretical and practical methods. It is hoped that through this study, assessments can be made of positive prospects regarding the educational applicability of webtoons.

  • Early childhood education has a huge impact on the development of one's life. Therefore, it is necessary to implement effective education in childhood in order to develop abilities such as creativity, which is essential for future society. Thus, through narrative inquiry, the characteristics creativity factors, family backgrounds, and parenting styles of the three great Korean were identified, and the commonalities of the three were analyzed. Research shows that all three great people had intellectual curiosity and productive thinking skills. And most of them were born into economically rich families and had an environment where they could experience various things, and there were people who supported them. In addition, there were nurturing people around them who discovered talent and actively participated in education, and their parents formed a stable emotional attachment with their children.

  • The Possibility of contemporary ceramics creation through the convergence of materials In modern society, the creation of new values through convergence is emerging as a new trend. Modern potters are also trying to expand a new concept of art by combining various materials with other media. In craft, materials are essential and the most fundamental elements of expression. Therefore, from the viewpoints of various fusions, the significance of the fusion between materials will be explored. Also, focusing on paperclay, which is the most likely to be transformed material, we explore creative possibilities in the process of producing materials and works. Chapter 2 presents the concept and significance of fusion and material properties, and introduce the trend of fusion used in contemporary ceramics as material expression. In Chapters 3 and 4, characteristics and possibilities are examined through paper clay production and presentation based on the structure of the previous analysis. As a result, it is intended to present the direction that modern ceramics should pursue through a fusion phenomenon such as bonding between materials in the future and to explore potential possibilities for development.

Exploring Aesthetic Values and Technical Elements Through Comparison of AI and Artist Creations (인공지능과 예술가의 창작물 비교를 통한 미학적 가치와 기술적 요소 탐구)

  • This study explores the differences in technical aspects and beauty between artworks generated by artificial intelligence (AI) and humans, assessing the characteristics, potential, and limitations of AI art, as well as the role of artists in depth. The results demonstrate that artworks generated by AI possess a level of technical proficiency and aesthetic value that can compete with human art, earning high appreciation among the general public. Specifically, with regard to emotional transmission and impression, AI can provide an artistic resonance comparable to that of humans; however, in artworks depicting natural landscapes, the subtle emotions and techniques of human artists surpass those of AI. This indicates that while AI can play a significant role in the field of artistic creation, AI also exhibits limitations in specific genres. The study is expected to provide deeper insights into the social acceptance and the position of AI art within the art community.

  • The purpose of this study is to explore the morphology of polyhedra as a tool diversifying the approach to structures and shapes, and to consider the way of the morphogenesis as structural design sources. First, through many examples in nature and styles used as the rhetorical representation of buildings, the shapes of which are based on one of polyhedra are shown. Secondly, the morphogenetic characteristics of polyhedra limited to pure lattice structure are investigated. Thereby the methodology of spatial morphogenesis of polyhedra as structural design sources are generated.
