A coenzyme Q10 nanoemulsion was prepared using high pressure homogenization with different valve type conditions (A, B, and C) and cycle numbers (1, 2, and 3). The particle size, transmittance, zeta potential, and coenzyme Q10 content of the prepared coenzyme Q10 nanoemulsion were measured. The stability of the prepared coenzyme Q10 nanoemulsion was evaluated on heating ($95^{\circ}C$), freezing ($-20^{\circ}C$), and different pH (2-10) conditions. Also, the prepared coenzyme Q10 nanoemulsion was stored at different temperatures of 4, 25, and $40^{\circ}C$ for 12 weeks to evaluate its storage stability. In this study, the optimal conditions of high pressure homogenization for the preparation of a coenzyme Q10 nanoemulsion were identified to be 150 MPa, C valve, and a cycle number of 3. The results showed that the prepared coenzyme Q10 nanoemulsion had an average particle size of 40 nm, generated no deposits or floating matter when stored at either 4 or $25^{\circ}C$ for 12 weeks, and displayed excellent dispersibility and transparency when processed at different pHs (4-10) or heating ($95^{\circ}C$) and, freezing ($-20^{\circ}C$) conditions. Our results indicated that a coenzyme Q10 nanoemulsion prepared by high pressure homogenization can be used for preparing beverages in the food industry.

Red ginseng (RG) contains specific ginsenosides (Rg2, Rg3) which show various pharmacological effects and absorption rate in the body better than panax ginseng. Therefore many people have been used it for health for a long time. Furthermore, many researchers have been studying its biological activities for a long times because fermentation generates lots of beneficial small molecules good for health. In this study, we fermented red ginseng with mycelium of Leatiporus sulphures var. miniatus for 7 days. As a result, we found that three ginsenosides Rg1, Re and Rb2 were decreased from 0.24, 0.25, 0.16 mg/g to 0.12, 0.1, 0.03 mg/g respectively HPLC analysis. In addition, we studied biological activities of fermented red ginseng (FRG) about skin ageing such as anti-inflammation, cell migration, anti-oxidation, collagen type 1 synthesis, and MMP-1 inhibition activities. As a result, FRG were shown higher anti-inflammatory and cell migration promoting activities than RG. FRG inhibited production of nitric oxide (NO) and mRNA expression of inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) and decreased interleukin (IL)-6 induced by LPS stimulation in RAW 264.7 cells. In conclusion, this study suggest that FRG could be a potential source as a new natural anti-inflammatory agent.

For the expansion of the Semantic Web, studies in converting the data stored in the relational database into the ontology are actively in process. Such studies mainly use an RDB to RDF mapping model, the model to map relational database components to RDF components. However, pre-proposed mapping models have got different expression modes and these damage the accessibility and reusability of the users. As a consequence, the necessity of the standardized mapping language was raised and the W3C suggested the R2RML as the standard mapping language for the RDB to RDF model. The R2RML has a characteristic that converts only the relational database schema data to RDF. For the same reasons above, the ontology about the relation data between table name and column name of the relational database cannot be added. In this paper, we propose an RDB to RDF mapping system considering semantic relations of RDB components in order to solve the above issue. The proposed system generates the mapping data by adding the RDFS attribute data into the schema data defined by the R2RML in the relational database. This mapping data converts the data stored in the relational database into RDF which includes the RDFS attribute data. In this paper, we implement the proposed system as a Java-based prototype, perform the experiment which converts the data stored in the relational database into RDF for the comparison evaluation purpose and compare the results against D2RQ, RDBToOnto and Morph. The proposed system expresses semantic relations which has richer converted ontology than any other studies and shows the best performance in data conversion time.

The possibility of commercializing the controlled release of chitosan carrier nano formulation was examined with mortalities and population increase rates of Aphis gossypii and Myzus persicae after treatment of 2 ${\alpha}$-cypermethrin nano type formulations of different chitosan carrier molecular weight (M.W. 3,000 and 30,000) and 2 etofenprox nano types of chitosan content (70% and 80%). After 14 days of treatment, ${\alpha}$-cypermethrin nano formulation showed over 40% mortality against A. gossypii. Therefore, it was confirmed that the insecticide release was controlled through chitosan carrier. Results of the investigation of insecticidal activity of ${\alpha}$-cypermethrin nano formulation showed there were no differences between nano types at 4 days after treatment. However, after 14 days, the population increase rate treated with chitosan M.W. 30,000 formulation was -0.037, much lower than that of M.W. 3,000 formulation with 0.231. The result exhibits that chitosan M.W. 30,000 formulation would be a suitable controlled release formulation. On the other hand, etofenprox formulations didn't show any significant insecticidal effect or persistency difference against both aphid species.

The analysis of ancient DNA extracted from archaeological bones has become an important research tool in palaeogenetics and anthropology. Eight human skeletal remains of the Joseon dynasty, excavated from Hwamyeong-dong, were used in this study. DNA was extracted from bone powder using a silica-based protocol. The isolated DNA was analyzed by the sequencing variation of hyper-variable region of the mitochondrial DNA. In the present study, 3 human remains were identified into mtDNA haplogroups including the A 5a, D4a, and M4"67+16311 groups, using HaploGrep 2 program. The identified haplotypes of the 3 samples have been confirmed that the specimens in the tombs were not related by the maternal line. This is the first analysis of human skeletal remains of the Joseon dynasty excavated in Busan. Date from the analysis of human remains from the Joseon dynasty are considered as the basis for understanding the genetic relationship between modern and ancient humans of the Korean peninsula.

This is a study on characteristics according to the material of sheet-type mask packs being sold on the market. The absorption capacities of water soluble components such as purified water, 1.3-propanediol, 1.3-butylene glycol, glycerine, and hyaluronic acid are compared with that of various oils including cyclomethicone, dimethicone, phytosqualane, caprylic capryl triglyceride, grape seed oil, and macadamia nut oil. As a result, all of the water soluble components except purified water showed higher moisture absorption capacity as the viscosity increased. And in case of oil, all oil showed higher oil absorption capacity according to the viscosity. During this test, the mask sheets with the type of acetic acid fermented bio-cellulose showed 500~1,000 times or more absorption capacity on water soluble wetting agent or all oils, which is due to the fine mesh structure seen in the 5,000x enlarged photograph at surface structure. This mesh structure was well recognized on the cross section and these structural features enhance the absorption capacity of water and oil. It is also believed that largely contained water-soluble components and oils facilitate the discharge over time. In addition, since each mask sheet shows their characteristics according to their material, it is intended to be a basic research for manufacturing mask packs good for skin.

It is known that buried rebars inside concrete structures are protected from corrosion due to passive layer. It is very important to delay the timing of corrosion or evaluate a detection of corrosion initiation for the purpose of cost-beneficiary service life of a structure. In this study, corrosion monitoring was performed on concrete specimens considering 3 levels of cover depth(60 mm, 45 mm, and 30 mm), W/C(water to cement) ratio(40.0%, 50.0%, and 60.0%) and chloride concentration(0.0%, 3.5%, and 7.0%). OCP(Open Circuit Potential) was measured using agar-based socket type sensors. The OCP measurement showed the consistent behavior where the potential was reduced in wet conditions and it was partially recovered in dry conditions. In the case of 30 mm of cover depth for most W/C ratio cases, the lowest OCP value was measured and rapid OCP recovery was evaluated in increasing cover depth from 30 mm to 45 mm, since cover depth was an effective protection against chloride ion ingress. As the chloride concentration increased, the effect on the cover depth tended to be more dominant than the that of W/C ratio. After additional monitoring and physical evaluation of chloride concentration after specimen dismantling, the proposed system can be improved with increasing reliability of the corrosion monitoring.
We present the K-Ar age dating results of <0.1㎛ fraction of the selected fault rocks from the Yangsan fault in the Yeonghae area. Based on the mineralogical characterization, the <0.1㎛ fractions were mostly composed of 1Md illite polytype, or I-S interstratified mineral, which should be formed by fault activation. Therefore, we determined the timings of fault activation events by analyzing K-Ar age-dating for the <0.1㎛ fractions. Accordingly, the activation timings of Yangsan Fault in the Yeonghae area were determined as 45.5±1.1 Ma, 50.9±1.2 Ma, 58.2±1.3 Ma, 60.8±1.4 Ma, 65.3±1.6 Ma, 66.8±1.5 Ma, 67.1±1.5 Ma, and 75.1±1.7 Ma. These results indicate that at least 5-times of major fault events occurred in the Yangsan fault from late Mesozoic to Cenozoic Era. In the outcrop, age dating results tend to be younger age from the location of the oldest sample(75.1±1.7 Ma) toward to the both sides. From the results, it suggests that the fault activation extends from the location of oldest age saple to both sides. This geochronological research of the multiple fault activation ages for the Yangsan Fault will provide crucial information for establishing the tectonic evolution model in the southeastern part of the Korean Peninsula.
As the demand for high-capacity batteries increases, there has been growing researches on the lithium metal anode with a capacity (3,860 mAh/g) of higher than that of conventional one and a low electrochemical potential (-3.040 V). In this study, using the anatase phased TiO2 nanoparticles synthesized by hydrothermal synthesis, a PVdF-HFP/TiO2 organic/inorganic composite material was designed and used as an interfacial protective layer for a Li metal anode. As-formed organic/inorganic-lithium composite thin film was confirmed through the crystalline structure and morphological analyses. In addition, the electrochemical test (cycle stability and voltage profile) confirmed that the protective layer of PVdF-HFP/TiO2 composite (10 wt% TiO2 and 1.1 ㎛ film thickness) contributed to the enhanced electrochemical performance of the lithium metal anode (Colombic efficiency retention: 90% for 77 cycles). Based on comparative test with the untreated lithium electrode, it was confirmed that our protective layer plays an important role to stabilize/improve the EC performance of the lithium metal negative electrode.
This study proposes the design and implementation of a low-cost emergency ventilator which can be helpful during the COVID-19 pandemic where the supply of automatic ventilators is not smooth compared with the urgent demand worldwide. Easy implementation and lower price were made possible by using AMBU-bag and off-the-shelf embedded micro-controller board. Moreover, while 3D printing is used by companies and experts around the world to build prototype hardware, materials which are readily available from surrounding environments so that people in countries where it is difficult to access many advanced technologies could manufacture the system. The design features AMBU-bag automation, not use 3D printing, and it can contrl speed. By allowing speed control, ventilation can be performed according to the conditions of the patient being used. A complementary point in the study is that it is difficult to fix the start point of the wiper motor used first. A method for complementing this is a method for replacing the brush DC motor with a position feedback function. Secondly, the AMBU-bag may wear out in the long-term process of compressing the AMBU-bag because the arm and the fixing frame are made of wood. To complement this, the part of fixing frame and arm parts that the AMBU-bag touches need to be wrapped in a material such as silicon to minimize friction.
