A clustering based wireless internet proxy server with cooperative caching has a problem of minimizing overall performance because some servers become overloaded if client request pattern is Hot-Spot or uneven. We propose a self-learning based adaptive clustering scheme to solve the poor performance problems of the existing clustering in case of Hot-Spot or uneven client request pattern. In the proposed scheme, requests are dynamically redistributed to the other servers if some servers supposed to handle the requests become overloaded. This is done by a self-learning based method based dynamic weight adjustment algorithm so that it can be applied to a situation with even various request pattern or a cluster of hosts with different performance. We performed experiments in a clustering environment with 16 PCs and a load balancer. Experimental results show the 54.62% performance improvement of the proposed schemes compared to the existing schemes.
Recently, Software DSMs continue to improve its performance and scalability As Software DSMs become attractive on larger clusters, the focus of attention is likely to move toward improving the reliability of a system. A popular approach to tolerate failures is message logging with checkpointing, and so many log-based rollback recovery schemes have been proposed. In this work, we propose a remote logging scheme which uses the volatile memory of a remote node assigned to each node. As our remote logging does not incur frequent disk accesses during failure-free execution, its logging overhead is not significant especially over high-speed communication network. The remote logging tolerates multiple failures if the backup nodes of failed nodes are alive. It makes the reliability of DSMs grow much higher. We have designed and implemented the FT-KDSM(Fault Tolerant KAIST DSM) with the remote logging and showed the logging overhead and the recovery time.
The DFT and ab initio calculations have been performed to elucidate hydrogen interaction of hydrogen polyoxide dimers, $H_2O_n-H_2O_m$ (n=1-4, m=1-4). The optimized geometries, harmonic vibrational frequencies, and binding energies are predicted at various levels of theory. The harmonic vibrational frequencies of the molecules considered in this study show all real numbers implying true minima. The higher-order correlation effect were discussed to compare MP2 result with CCSD(T) single point energy. The binding energies were corrected for the zero-point vibrational energy (ZPVE) and basis set superposition errors (BSSE). The largest binding energy predicted at the CCSD(T)/cc-pVTZ level of theory is 8.18 kcal/mol for $H_2O_4-H_2O_3$ and the binding energy of water dimer is predicted to be 3.00 kcal/mol.

Universities and local governments in Korea are simultaneously experiencing the difficulties of a decrease in the youth population and a decrease in the school-age population, and close cooperation between universities and local governments is urgently needed to solve this problem. Representative methods of such cooperation include the establishment of a regional innovation system and the theories of innovation clusters and triple helix models. In addition to these theories, the aim is to derive sustainable conditions for the local government-university cooperation model by examining various cases of cooperation at home and abroad. This is the purpose of this paper. In particular, through case studies of cooperation between local governments and universities at home and abroad, three types of models (job, education, and housing) were analyzed, and common conditions and requirements for sustainable cooperation were proposed. In order for cooperation between local governments and universities to continue and produce successful results, mutual benefit creation, infrastructure construction and operation appropriate for capabilities, flexibility, and mutual responsibility are necessary. Furthermore, a model that suits the capabilities of local governments and universities must be found, and in this process, the university's research capabilities and commercialization capabilities of research results are especially important. In addition, it is essential to establish a new cooperation system between local governments, universities, and the central government.
This paper presents a PC cluster-based distributed VOD server that minimizes the load of an interconnection network by adopting the VIA communication protocol and the interval cache algorithm. Video data is distributed to the disks of the distributed VOD server and each server node receives the data through the interconnection network and sends it to clients. The load of the interconnection network increases because of the large amount of video data transferred. This paper developed a distributed VOD file system, which is based on VIA, to minimize cost using interconnection network when accessing remote disks. VIA is a user-level communication protocol removing the overhead of TCP/IP. This papers also improved the performance of the interconnection network by expanding the maximum transfer size of VIA. In addition, the interval cache reduces traffic on the interconnection network by caching, in main memory, the video data transferred from disks of remote server nodes. Experiments using the distributed VOD server of this paper showed a maximum performance improvement of 21.3% compared with a distributed VOD server without VIA and the interval cache, when used with a four-node PC cluster.
Social changes due to ICT like Big Data, IoT, Cloud and Mobile is progressing rapidly. Now, we get out of the old-fashioned frame was measured at the level of the information society through the introduction of PC, Internet speed and Internet subscribers etc and there is a need for a new type of diagnostic information society framework. This study is the study for the framework established to diagnose and measure post-information society. The framework and indicators were chosen in accordance with the technological society coevolution theory and information society-related indicators presented from authoritative international organizations. Empirical results utilizing the indicators and framework developed in this study were as follows: First, the three sectors, six clusters (items), 25 nodes (indicators) that make up the information society showed that all strongly connected. Second, it was diagnosed as information society development (50.34%), technology-based expansion (25.03%) and ICT effect (24.63%) through a network analysis (ANP) for the measurement of importance of the information society. Third, the result of calculating the relative importance of the cluster and nodes showed us (1)social development potential (26.04%), (2)competitiveness (15.9%), (3)ICT literacy (15.5%) (4) (social)capital (24.3 %), (5)ICT acceptance(9.54%), (6)quality of life(8.7%). Consequently, We should take into account the effect of the economy and quality of life beyond ICT infrastructure-centric when we measure the post-information society. By applying the weighting we should performs a comparison between countries and we should diagnose the level of Korea and provide policy implications for the preparation of post-information society.
It is important that acquire information about if customer has some habit in electronic commerce application of internet base that led in recommendation service for customer in dynamic web contents supply. Collaborative filtering that has been used as a standard approach to Web personalization can not get rapidly user's preference change due to static user profiles and has shortcomings such as reliance on user ratings, lack of scalability, and poor performance in the high-dimensional data. In order to overcome this drawbacks, Web usage mining has been prevalent. Web usage mining is a technique that discovers patterns from We usage data logged to server. Specially. a technique that discovers Web usage patterns and clusters patterns is used. However, the discovery of patterns using Afriori algorithm creates many useless patterns. In this paper, the enhanced method for the construction of dynamic user profiles using validated Web usage patterns is proposed. First, to discover patterns Apriori is used and in order to create clusters for user profiles, ARHP algorithm is chosen. Before creating clusters using discovered patterns, validation that removes useless patterns by Dempster-Shafer theory is performed. And user profiles are created dynamically based on current user sessions for Web personalization.

The purposes of this research are to examine the theoretical background and industrial policy issues with regard to building a Innovation System for encouraging industrial competitiveness and fostering regional industry in Korea. Knowledge has become the driving force of economic growth and the primary source of competitiveness in the world market. So since 1990s, Innovation Systems have been put emphasis on as new industrial development strategy in a knowledge-based economy. It can be understood that Innovation System is composed of National Innovation System(NIS) and Regional Innovation System(RIS) and interrelated the concept of clusters and networks, which are contribute to industry development throughout boosting innovation. As for the Korean industrial policy, when the former centralized policy decision making process became decentralized through the implementation of local autonomy, the role of local or state government in relation to regional industrial promotion intensified. But with the impotance of for fostering strategic industry in the region. new industrial policy issues in Korea are needed as follows; $\circled1$ Building a market-oriented support system for industrial cluster through providing the resource of innovation. $\circled2$ Establishing agency for regional industrial development. $\circled3$ Making a evolutionary vision for broader region including 2 or 3 province, $\circled4$ Fostering strategic industry which is selected in term of specialization and potential of the region. The RIS model for industry development is outlined in this paper but policy initiatives for building a RIS have to be extracted from further case studies.
This study aims to analyze the network structure of technological innovation resources in SMEs, especially manufacturing firms, and reveal the differences between innovative and non-innovative firms. The study first analyzes connection centrality, flow-mediated centrality, and power centrality for all firms, and derives structural equivalence through CONCOR analysis. Then, the network structure of innovative and non-innovative firms was compared and analyzed according to innovation performance and creation. The results show that entrepreneurship and corporate innovation strategy have a significant impact on the analysis of technological innovation resources of all firms. According to the CONCOR analysis, the innovation resources of SMEs are organized into seven clusters, which can be defined as intrinsic product innovation resources, competitive advantage promotion resources, cooperative activities resources, information system resources, and innovation protection resources. The network analysis of innovative and non-innovative firms showed that innovative firms focused on enhancing competitiveness and improving quality, while non-innovative firms tended to focus more on existing products and customers. In addition, innovative firms had eight clusters, while non-innovative firms had six clusters, suggesting that innovative firms utilize resources diversely to pursue structural change and new value creation, while non-innovative firms operate technological innovation resources in a more stable form. This study emphasizes the importance of entrepreneurship and corporate innovation strategy in SMEs' technological innovation, and suggests that strong internal efforts are needed to increase innovativeness. These findings have important implications for strategy formulation and policy development for technological innovation in SMEs.

The fuzzy set theory has been wide used in clustering of machine learning with data mining since fuzzy theory has been introduced in 1960s. In particular, fuzzy C-means algorithm is a popular fuzzy clustering algorithm up to date. An element is assigned to any cluster with each membership value using fuzzy C-means algorithm. This algorithm is affected from the location of initial cluster center and the proper cluster size like a general clustering algorithm as K-means algorithm. This setting up for initial clustering is subjective. So, we get improper results according to circumstances. In this paper, we propose a cluster merging using enhanced density based fuzzy C-means clustering algorithm for solving this problem. Our algorithm determines initial cluster size and center using the properties of training data. Proposed algorithm uses grid for deciding initial cluster center and size. For experiments, objective machine learning data are used for performance comparison between our algorithm and others.
