Types and Themes of Mobile Application Contents in Primary Science Learning Derived From Teachers' Perspectives (교사의 관점에서 제안된 초등 과학 영역의 모바일 앱 콘텐츠 유형 및 주제)

  • Given the potential of mobile applications to create new learning opportunities beyond the prevalent use of digital textbooks and Internet lectures, this study aims to derive types and themes of mobile application content that can be effectively integrated with the school curricula. Twenty primary school teachers participated in this study that examines teachers' perceptions about the advantages and disadvantages of printed and digital textbooks' modality, the advantages and disadvantages of mobile learning, and the themes relevant to develop mobile applications. Findings indicate that it is necessary to develop activity-centered applications for vertical use rather than theme-centered applications for horizontal use. In addition, while most ideas derived from teachers center on multimedia access, there was lack of ideas that leverage the affordances of mobile devices for collaborative interaction and location-awareness. Lastly, to promote the diffusion of mobile learning in school environments, this study suggests the need to overcome teachers' epistemology that perceives mobilization against inquiry activities.

  • After its remarkable success, "Avatar" brought another way of creating cinematic story; the stereoscopic 3-D cinema. Comparing conventional 2-D filmmaking, you need twice as much of budget and manpower in 3-D filmmaking because of the complicated process and slow production speed. The 3-D hardware like 3-D TV and 3-D projector are already showing at the retail stores while 3-D filmmaking is still in veil, and no major educational institution is yet to start 3-D related education. As 3-D movies get popular and demand more 3-D filmmaking professional crew, educating 3-D filmmaking to 2-D based film students will improve their hiring rate in the market. The successful result of the box office showing 3-D films like "Alice in Wonderland 3D" and "Titan 3D" forecasts that there will be more demand on 3-D related jobs very soon.

  • Computers can intensify the students' motivation and understanding about the solution to the problems in class, therefore, computers can be the most appropriate educational tools for the study of problem solving and have been also recognized as a representable study method in the information age, which can pass on various educational experience to the right place at the right time. Mutimedia producing tool helps us develop and maintain the educational courseware by way of using general technology of multimedia system. In this thesis, it presents the efficient development process of educational software by using mutimedia producing tool, its educational advantages and problems, and its future progress direction as well.

  • For this, 410 development topics and contents were selected based on the analysis of contents related to mathematics and science, the pre-investigation and analysis of mathematics and science teachers in agricultural, mountain and fishing villages and the analysis of the 2009 revised curriculum. The validity verification of the selected subject list and implementation plan was implemented through the reviews by experts in each subject and the storyboard was designed by reflecting the examination opinion after the final revision. Development directions of the contents were set after analyzing the application result of contents from classroom for creativity and science and selected schools in agricultural, mountain and fishing villages for demonstration, and opened the platform after the revision and supplement of the expert. It is expected to elevate students' self-directed learning abilities in agricultural, mountain and fishing villages by developing and extending smart learning contents to use ICT in Mathematics and science education, which are high in urbanrural academic disparity.

Teacher Training Program Emphasis on Knowledge in Technology Integration in Teaching and Learning: American N University Instructional Systems Technology Program Case Study (디지털 기반 교수-학습 지식습득을 위한 교사교육 프로그램: 미국 N대학 교육공학과 사례를 중심으로)

  • The study introduced an actual American university program student's learning outcomes in instructional technology integration knowledge in order to acknowledge implication considering the current status of relevant Korean teacher training programs. With utilizing complete sampling (students enrolled in a master's program in Instructional Systems Technology at the N University in Fall 2015), the survey was conducted on knowledge, strategies and performance in instructional technology integration, and interview assessed deeper understanding of students' relevant competencies in their specific professional setting. The results and findings based on triangulation of the data confirmed that the students gained sufficient knowledge, and applied the relevant knowledge and competencies into their work setting. For future research, the implications were offered on reviewing Korean teacher training programs in professional competency development related to technology integration in teaching and learning.

  • This study was intended to analyze the present condition and problems of education by examining the curriculum of departments relating to IT design in community colleges in the environment of IT that more rapidly grew than any other sector due to the development of information and communication and smart device, focusing on the actual condition. And it was intended to present a scheme for the improvement of IT design curriculum in community colleges in preparation for the surveyed industry demand in IT sector. First of all, this study attempted to check how IT designers' work changed according to the change of technology in industrial scene through a survey of job in IT industry and an analysis of IT industry trends. As a result, it was shown that the work of IT designers who had carried out web design work extended to mobile design, and school education also required mobile education according to the change of the times. Here, through task analysis, it was possible to find that web design and mobile design was not fundamentally entirely different, but was within the range where it was perfectly possible to carry out mobile design work if mobile environment and condition was understood and an education was given together with the existing curriculum.

  • Seongri scholars of the Joseon Dynasty said that portraits were revered as academic teachers, and that the personal meaning was typical. Portraits in the latter phase of Joseon Dynasty have been popular in various contexts, especially in the sense of the texture, the religious church, and the ritual service. The etiquette and written aspects contained in portraits can point out the problems of contemporary society's individualism and attitudes through the expressive and personal approach to the art of painting. The purpose of education is to explore relationships with others, to coordinate myself with others, to have respect for others, and to change the inner workings of individuals. Through this, we can explore and explore personality education elements and find ways to achieve personality education through the exploration of figures using portraits as educational material, the process of making portraits, and the discovery of meaning. Therefore, for systematic appreciation, we are planning to set up an appreciation standard by proposing a 3-step review process applied to the 2015 revised education course.

  • The purpose of this research is to help IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) commercialization using newly produced educational contents in the area of entertainment and education which currently popular in the market. It is called, Stimulus $Tester^{TM}$, endow reaction time from the feedback of learning system, using a non-direct method, for example, a remote controller. Reaction time is the learning efficiency promotion mechanism that learner ascertain the learning condition of oneself by the time with solved questions from the solving the question in given time. Reaction time also play a key role that the learner may go through course which distribute the point to PC from Server. If this system is ready, we expect that the educational industry will gradually spread out. To verify the learning efficiency of this system, we concluded that the learning improvements, by an Internet-based and a paper-based test, of the increase by 51%, from 2.47min to 1.27min, during reaction of 7 days.

The effect of contents presentation types, levels and metacognition on concept map in online learning (온라인 학습에서 콘텐츠의 제시유형과 제시수준, 메타인지가 학습에 미치는 효과)

  • This study was executed to give a help in planning and implementing online learning. For this purpose this study investigated the effect of contents presentation types, levels and metacognition on concept map composition and learning process in online learning. Learning contents types were two, meaning-centered or context-centered. Contents levels were divided into two; basic or deficient. Metacognition was divided into two levels according to the scores of scale. Results showed that meaning-centered type(M=45.00, SE=1.97) got better scores in concept map than context-centered(M=34.71, SE=1.98), Presentation levels and metacognition had no significant influence on concept map. There were interaction effect(F=.002, p>.05) between presentation levels and metacogntion levels. The upper group in metacognition got higher score in deficient types whereas the lower group got higher score in basic type. In online learning process, learner's metacognition was an important factor to complement the contents' defect and lack.
