20 nm 두께의 ITO층이 코팅된 ITO/PET Sheet의 저항 및 균열형성 특성 연구 (A Study on the Resistance and Crack Propagation of ITO/PET Sheet with 20 nm Thick ITO Film)

  • The crack formation and the resistance of ITO film on PET substrate with a thickness of 20 nm were investigated as a function of strain. The onset strain for the increase of resistance increased with increasing strain rate, suggesting the crack initiation is dependent on the strain rate. Electrical resistance increased at the strain of 1.6% at the strain rates below $10^{-4}/sec$ while it increased at ${\sim}2%$ at the strain rates above $10^{-3}/sec$. The critical strain at which the cracks were formed is close to the proportional limit. Upon loading, the initial cracks perpendicular to the tensile axis were observed and propagated the whole sample width with increasing strain. The spacing between horizontal cracks is thought to be determined by the fracture strength and the interfacial strength between ITO and PET. The crack density increased with increasing strain. However, the effect of the strain rate on the crack density was less pronounced in ITO/PET with 20 nm ITO thickness than ITO/PET with 125 nm ITO thickness, the strength of ITO film is thought to increase as the thickness on ITO film decreases. The absence of cracks on ITO film at a strain as close as 1.5% can be attributed to the compressive residual stress of ITO film which was developed during cooling after the coating process. The higher critical strain for the onset of the resistance increase and the crack initiation of ITO/PET with a thinner ITO film (20 nm) can be linked with the higher strength of the thinner ITO film.

  • The thermal barrier coating must withstand erosion when subjected to flowing gas and should also maintain good stability and mechanical properties while it must also protect the turbine component from high temperature, hot corrosion, creep, and oxidation during operation. In this study we investigated the influence of subsurface layer, $Al_2O_3$ or NiCrCoAIY bond coat layer, on the indentation damage behavior of YSZ thermal barrier coating layers deposited by electron beam physical vapor deposition (EB-PVD). The bond coat is deposited using different process such as air plasma spray (APS) or spray of high velocity oxygen fuel (HVOF) and the thickness is varied. Hertzian indentation technique is used to induce micro damages on the coated layer. The stress-strain behaviors are characterized by results of the indentation tests.

  • Ba과 Ti의 금속 유기 화합물을 이용하여 (100) $SrTiO_3$ 기판 위에 $BaTIO_3$ 박막을 코팅-열분해법으로 제조하였다. $450^{\circ}C$에서 사전 열처리한 비정질상의 박막은 $2\times 10^{-4}$ atm으로 조정된 산소 분압 하에서 $700^{\circ}C$ 이상의 온도로 열처리함으로써 결정화되었다. $800^{\circ}C$ 이하에서 제조한 박막의 기판에 수직한 면의 격자상수는 cubic $BaTIO_3$의 a 값에 가까우면 $800^{\circ}C$ 이하에서 제조한 박막의 tetragonal $BaTIO_3$ 의 a 값에 가까 웠다. 박막과 기판의 정렬상태를 XRD $\beta$ scan과 pole-figure로 분석한 결과 $BaTIO_3$ 박막은 $SrTiO_3$ 기판과 에피택시 관계가 있었다. $800^{\circ}C$에서 열처리한 박막의 표면은 0.4${\mu}m$ 정도의 섬 형태의 입자로 구성되어 있었고 약 0.8$\mu\textrm{m}$의 두께를 가진 단면은 구형의 입자가 층을 이루고 있었다.

유도결합플라즈마의 전력이 TiCrN 코팅층에 미치는 영향 (Effects of ICP Power on the Properties of TiCrN Films)

  • In this study, TiCrN films were deposited on STS 316 Land Si (100) wafer by inductively coupled plasma (ICP) assisted D.C. magnetron sputtering. The effect R.F. power for ICP discharge on the mechanical properties of TiCrN films was investigated. XRD, XPS and FE-SEM were used for the structure analysis. Also the Micro-Knoop hardness tester and profilometer were used for measuring hardness of coatings and film stress respectively. As increasing the R.F. power for ICP discharge, thickness of coating was decreased from 1633 nm to 1288 nm but hardness was increased about $Hk_{5g}$ 4200 at 400 W. All of the XRD patterns showed (111), (200) and (220) peaks of TiCrN films. Surface morphology was studied using the profilometer. FE-SEM was used to know morphology and cross-section of the films. Structure of the films was changed dense as increased ICP power.

  • Titanium Chromium Nitrided (TiCrN) coatings were deposited on stainless steel 316 L and Si (100) wafer by inductively coupled plasma assisted D.C. magnetron sputtering at the various sputtering power on Cr target and $N_2/Ar$ gas ratio. Increasing the sputtering power of Cr target, XRD patterns were changed from TiCrN to nitride $Cr_2Ti$. The maximum hardness was $Hk_{3g}$ 3900 at $0.3\;N_2/Ar$ gas ratio. The thickness of the TiCrN films increased as the Cr target power increased, and it showed over $Hk_{5g}3100$ hardness at 100 W, 150 W. TiCrN films were deposited by the ICP assisted DC magnetron sputtering shown good wear resistance as the $N_2/Ar$ gas ratio was 0.1, 0.3.

파라핀 왁스를 이용한 방사성 폐기물의 고화 특성 (Solidify Properties of Radioactive Waste using Paraffin Wax)

  • 방사성 폐기물을 시멘트로 고화처리는 농축 폐액 내의 붕산으로 인해 시멘트의 양생을 지연시키며 감용비가 낮아지는 현상을 나타낸다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 단점을 보완하기 위하여 파라핀 왁스로 처리하여 감용 효과를 높이는 연구를 수행하였다. 파라핀 왁스는 소수성이 커서 무기물과의 혼합특성이 좋지 않아 층 분리 현상이 일어날 수 있다. 왁스의 양이 적은 경우 고화체의 압축강도가 낮아짐을 알 수 있었다. 따라서 먼저 폐기물의 붕산성분을 알칼리염으로 처리하고 이것을 stearic acid로 코팅처리 하였다. 파라핀 왁스로 고화처리 시 왁스의 함량을 일정이상 유지하면 시멘트로 처리한 고화체의 압축강도로 향상되었고 파라핀 고화체의 침출특성에서 파라핀 왁스를 20% 및 25% 함유한 고화체는 CFL (cumulative fraction leached), PR (penetration rate), 유효확산계수 등이 비숫한 값을 지닌다.

  • TiN coated films show a good mechanical properties, high thermal properties and wear, erosion and corrosion resistance and are widely used as a coating materials in tools, ornaments, parts and semiconductors. In spite of these good properties, the fracture of TiN coated films occur during use. The fracture of TiN thin films is related to their microstructure. Especially, the life of TiN coated layer is related to the texture of the TiN films. One researcher suggested that the corrosion and erosion resistance of the TiN thin films is related to a uniform and dense structure of films. In this study, we studied the relationships between textures and friction coefficient, erosion and corrosion in TiN coated films. The flatness of (115) texture surface of TiN thin films is flatter than that of (111) texture surface. The friction coefficient of (115) texture surface of TiN thin films is similar with that of (111) texture surface. The wear resistance of (115) texture surface of TiN thin films is better than that of (111) texture surface. The erosion and corrosion resistance of (115) texture surface of TiN thin films is better than that of (111) torture surface. As well as texture, the wear, erosion and corrosion of TiN thin films has to consider defects such as pinholes, cracks, surface roughness and open columnar structure. The life of TiN coated products is influenced by the properties of wear, erosion, and corrosion resistance of TiN thin films and is related to texture of TiN coated films, density of pinholes and cracks, density of structure, and surface flatness.

Al$_2$O$_3$-TiO$_2$세라믹의 플라즈마 용사과정에서 미세구조의 변화와 용사코팅층의 탄성에 대한 연구 (A Study on the elastic properties of coated layers and the changes of microstructure in plasma spray coating of $Al_2$O$_3$-TiO$_2$ ceramics)

  • Al$_2$O$_3$-TiO$_2$powders of six different compositions were plasma-sprayed on Ti substrate. The spray powders and the spray coated layers were analysed and compared using SEM and X-RD. The elastic properties (specific elastic constant and damping coefficient) of the coated specimens were measured in order to select the optimum composition range of ceramics for use in a speaker diaphragm. A correlation between the microstructure and elastic properties was also investigated. When $Al_2$O$_3$powders with 0- 13% TiO$_2$were plasma sprayed, the coated layers were composed of metastable y-Al$_2$O$_3$with small amount of $\alpha$-Al$_2$O$_3$and the content of $\alpha$-Al$_2$O$_3$was increased with TiO$_2$content. Specific elastic constant was rapidly increased with 2 and 13% TiO$_2$addition to $Al_2$O$_3$. The internal damping was nearly unchanged with TiO$_2$content The specific elastic constant seemed to be dependent on the content of $\alpha$-Al$_2$O$_3$in the coated layer.

내오염성 나노여과막의 제조 및 특성 (Preparation and Characteristics of Fouling Resistant Nanofiltration Membranes)

  • 본 연구에서는 나노여과막과 역삼투막의 표면 개질을 통하여 유량의 향상 및 내오염성을 향상시키는 제조 방법을 개발하였다. 실란 화합물이 코팅된 복합막의 표면 성질이 막 오염 지수 MFI 값에 미치는 영향을 살펴보았다. 상용화된 역삼투막(RE1812-LP)과 나노여과막(ESNA 4040-LF) 복합막을 기저막으로 사용하여 실란 커플링제의 농도를 달리하여 개질 복합막을 제조하였다. 실란 커플링제 aminopropylmethoxydiethoxysilane은 아민 관능기와 3개의 알콕시 관능기를 가지며 아민 관능기가 가지는 친수성 특성이 개질막의 투과 수량 및 내오염성에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 개질막의 실란층의 안정적인 형성을 확인하기 위하여 FE-SEM, 접촉각 측정 및 제타 전위값 등의 표면 특성 변화를 살펴보았다. 특히 개질된 나노여과막의 2가 이온 수용액을 공급수로 할 경우 염제거율에 대한 영향 없이 내오염성이 현저히 증가함을 확인하였다.

최소 기공층 구조가 PES계 정밀여과막 투과 성능에 미치는 영향 (Effect of the Structure of the Smallest Poresize Layer on the Permeability of PES Microfiltration Membranes)

  • PES/DMF/TSA/PVP 고분자용액을 물에 침지시 시키는 상전이 공정을 통하여 비대칭성이 향상된 PES 멤브레인을 제조하였다. PES (polyethersulfone) 용액에 응고제 (p-toluenesulfonic acid, TSA)와 습윤제 고분자 (polyvinylpyrrolidone, PVP)의 첨가와 습윤 상태에 노출 시간으로 일어나는 멤브레인 표면의 pre-coagulation 현상은 멤브레인의 구조적 특성과 투과량 특성에 있어 중요한 역할을 한다. PES 용액은 폴리에스터 필름에 코팅된 후 약 $72{\sim}144$초 동안 80%의 습도하에서 공기에 노출된 후 응고조에 침지되었다. Capillary flow porometer, FE-SEM과 수투과 평가장치를 통하여 멤브레인의 특성을 살펴보았다. TSA 20 wt%와 PVP 10 wt%가 첨가된 11 wt%의 PES 용액에서 멤브레인 구조의 비대칭성이 크게 향상되었으며 최소 기공충의 두께도 얇아짐을 볼 수 있었다. 그 결과로 수투과량에 큰 증가를 가져옴을 볼 수 있었다.
