The results examined through this study were firstly, mental health promotion projects conducted in the public sector in Korea are mainly carried out on consignment to affiliated organizations, and are promoted not only for diagnosis, mediation, and therapeutic intervention but also for care and prevention. Second, psychological and emotional support projects are being attempted with various approaches such as reading, playing, gardening, and art, and art therapy is actively used as a part of art programs. In addition, it is suggested that the government should provide efficient welfare and utilize it as a common goal through linkage and cooperation with other ministries for the continuous and stable implementation of state-led psychological support projects. In addition, it is hoped that this research will be used as a research material to explore specific strategies for effectiveness of national policy projects on the overall psychological sentiment of child and youth.

  • In this paper, we propose a computerized psychological test system for art therapy. The proposed system with the computerized devices can measure various information, such as colors, characters of lines, pen pressure, size of objects, position of objects, and so on, from the drawn pictures by the child. The measured information can be analyzed to extract more meaningful information about the child and to provide more effective remedial information for art therapy. Art therapy essentially has a potential drawback that the results of test can be influenced by therapist's subjectivity. The results can be different from the method of gathering information, the method of analysis, the interpretation of analyzed data, and even the therapist's academic backgrounds. Therefore, in this paper, we focus on what information needs to be measured and how to measure the data from drawn pictures and propose a computerized psychological test system for art therapy. The proposed system can measure and analyze various information from the drawn picture by the child. Since the proposed system can provide valuable psychological information of child in the form of quantitative data, it can be exploited as a new method for art therapy.

  • Objectives : Evidence regarding the association between untreated depression in adolescence and suicidal risk in male young adults is scarce. We aimed to assess the effect of untreated illness during adolescence on the suicidal risk and attempt after that first episode. Methods : As part of a cross-sectional study, between May 2017 and April 2018, a total of 260 patients with currently unipolar or bipolar depression were included in the final analysis. Multiple linear and logistic regression analysis were performed to evaluate the association between untreated mood disorder in adolescence and its effect on the suicidal risk and attempt. Results : In total 260 patients, 189 were classified as untreated group. The proportion of suicide attempts, total depression score, suicidal risk and number of suicide attempts were significantly higher in the untreated group. The most predictive factors of suicide attempts were history of untreated depression [Adjusted Odds Ratio (AOR)=4.19, 95% Confidence Interval (CI)=2.25-7.81, p<0.001] and diagnosis of bipolar depression (AOR=2.60, 95% CI=1.52-4.46, p<0.001). Conclusions : Although the untreated depression suggests higher rates of suicidality, a significant proportion (86.7%) of adolescent depression in this study did not receive psychiatric treatment. Future research should be needed to find better ways to decrease barriers in using mental health treatment and its contribution to reduction and prevention of adverse outcome.

  • Class III malocclusion or anterior crossbite is commonly seen in Asian. This problem is easily recognized by dentists and parents. During the primary dentition period, anterior crossbite with functional shift and deep overbite could develop to skeletal protrusive mandible. So, early and proper diagnosis of anterior crossbite which needs prompt treatment is important. These cases showed the early management of crossbite with functional shift in primary dentition using intraoral removable appliance resulting in improvement of intermaxillary relationship. And I analyzed the positional change and the dimensional change during treatment with lateral cephalometric x-ray analysis. Our patients showed vertical dimensional change of lower anterior facial height and clockwise rotation which results crossbite correction in 1 year of treatment period.

Each session was composed of warming up, RAS gait training, ending. The music used for RAS gait training was provided with speed which was set to patient's own gait speed measured before music therapy. The speed was provided fast gradually and each session was proceeded for 50 minutes. The results of this study showed that walking abilities increase in the segments with music therapy (B) compared to those in the segment without music therapy (A), and this supports the previous report that the application of music therapy together with other treatments has a positive effect on improvement in the patient's walking abilities. In addition, this study is meaningful in that it demonstrated that RAS music therapy is helpful to improve walking abilities not only in straight gait but also in turning gait.

This study presented typical vignettes of schizophrenia, depression and alcoholism to 1,197 adults randomly. All respondents were asked for recognition of mental illness, beliefs about causes, professional help and self-help, stigma for receiving psychiatric treatment for the person described. The results showed that the recognition of mental health problem in a vignette was very poor and that personal causes were seen by public as more important than environmental and bio-genetic causes. When the public were asked about various professional therapies and self-help activities, psychotherapy was favored while other professional help were considered to be less helpful than self-help activities. Among professionals, psychiatrist were viewed as most helpful. We used cluster analysis to compare high mental health literacy group with low mental health literacy group(vulnerable population). Vulnerable population were found to be more aged and to live in county area. We proposed government initiated program for enhancing public mental health literacy.
