  • The purpose of this study was to investigate major selection motivation, major satisfaction, nursing professionalism, and career preparation behavior as well as identify influencing factors on the career preparation behavior of nursing students. The data were collected using questionnaires filled out by 208 nursing students in their junior and senior years at two universities in Jeollanam-do and Gyenggi-do, from November 1, 2018 to December 20, 2018. Data ware analyzed by using the SPSS Win 22.0 program (frequency, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation, and multiple regression analysis). The mean score of career preparation behavior was 2.74±0.70 (range:1-5). There was a significant positive correlation between major satisfaction, nursing professionalism, and career preparation behavior. For the multiple regression analysis, meaningful variables that significantly influenced career preparation behavior were nursing professionalism and general characteristics (grade, career preparation period). These factors explained 21.5% of the variance. Improvement of the above meaningful variables allowed better career preparation behavior. The results show that among students with weak meaningful variables, improvement of the above meaningful variables can improve job preparing behavior. In order to improve career preparation behavior, a career preparation program should be developed that reflects meaningful variables.

  • Korea is a rapidly industrializing nation. As a consequence, more mothers are working outside the home. This trend is likely to continue into the future and raises the problem of infant-toddler care during the mother's working hours. Considering that Korea is making such rapid economic advances, quality care for children of working mothers Is not only desirable but affordable as well. Variety in options for child care is recommended by Beck (1982). Some of the alternatives in child care have been discussed elsewhere (KWDI, 1984). This paper, thus, concentrated on center-based, worksite child care. Because the human environment is the most important aspect of the center, qualified staff and a low ratio of children per staff member is Vital. Philosophy of program and its actualization ensures that the children have a worthwhile experience at the center. The physical plant houses the center and includes provision for space, materials, and equipment for staff and child use in carrying out the program. Adequate health protection is a critical factor in infant-toddler group care programs.

  • This study is to analyze employment stress and career decision efficacy of undergraduates from engineering and social science department. Research object is 310 undergraduates(engineering department: 164 and social science department: 146) from three colleges in Seoul and Cheju. As a result of testing employment stress and career decision efficacy undergraduates had significant difference according to major and grade. Employment stress of undergraduates from engineering department was more serious than undergraduates from social science department. As a result of analyzing on the basis of grade employment stress of sophomores was more serious than freshmen. Career decision efficacy of undergraduates from social science department was higher than other group. Career decision efficacy of freshmen was higher than sophomore. Employment stress and career decision efficacy showed negative corelation in corelation analysis. This study implies that course educating program should be specialized according to major and grade. This study suggests that we should develop course educating curriculum connecting with major education.

  • This is descriptive research aimed at determining the relations with appearance satisfaction and self-efficacy in controlling job-seeking stress and at providing basic data necessary to decide on an education direction for better career maturity and explore psychological resources. For data collection, convenience sampling was performed among dental hygiene students consenting to participate in the research in Chungcheong and Jeolla Provinces to complete a self-administered questionnaire from November 25 to December 13, 2019. Appearance satisfaction was positively correlated with self-efficacy and was negatively correlated with job-seeking stress; self-efficacy was negatively correlated with job-seeking stress. The factors affecting job-seeking stress were self-efficacy, appearance satisfaction, and major satisfaction. It would be necessary to develop a practical counseling program targeting the combination of positive appearance acceptance and improvement in self-efficacy on the basis of correct aesthetic values with the objective of reinforcing job-seeking competence intensively among dental hygiene majors.

Data collection was conducted from November 2018 to February, 2019 in 236 students who understood the purpose of the study and agreed to participate in the study. The collected data were analyzed by frequency, mean, standard deviation, Pearson correlation analysis, and multiple regression. The lower the career maturity (β=-.258), job stress was the higher. Also, the lower major satisfaction (β=-.377), the higher the job stress, and the lower the self-control (β=-.275), the job stress was the higher. • As the level of job-seeking stress increases among college students, increasing attention is being paid to the variables that would decrease its negative effects through brief intervention programs or counseling. As such, in the present study, we examined the effects of job-seeking stress on depression and psychological well-being, and whether resilience (internal variable) and social support (external variable) would moderate such effects. In other words, we tested whether the negative effects of job-seeking stress on depression and psychological well-being would be decreased by resilience and social support. A total of 264 fourth-year college students and unemployed 4-year college graduates, who were looking for jobs in private and public enterprises participated in this study. The results indicated that resilience moderated the relation between job-seeking stress and depression, while social support did not. In contrast, resilience did not moderate the relation between job-seeking stress and psychological well-being, whereas social support did. These results suggest that as resilience increases, the effect of job-seeking stress on depression decreases, whereas as social support increases, the effect of job-seeking stress on psychological well-being decreases.
