  • Several IP autoconfiguration techniques for MANET have been proposed by this time. But most of them concentrate on dealing with address duplication, so they have problems with latency and inefficient address space utilization. In this paper, we proposed a new IP autoconfiguration technique, namely Relational MANET Autoconfiguration Protocol(RMAP). This technique distributes IP addresses effectively by exchanging messages and recovers IP addresses by applying parent-child relationship. Simulation experiments are conducted to demonstrate the enhancement of the proposed algorithm over other known algorithms regarding latency, uniform distribution, and IP address recovery ratio.

  • A Contention Access Period(: CAP) with high contention in priority-based MAC protocols can result in higher number of collisions and retransmissions. High-Priority traffic dominates low-priority traffic during CAP depleting low-priority traffic, adversely affecting WBAN throughput, delay, and energy consumption. This paper proposes a Emergency data-First-Priority MAC(: EFP-MAC) superframe structure that is able to reduce contention in the CAP period, and provides a fair chance for low-priority traffic. As a result, the proposed Emergency data-First Priority MAC(; EFP-MAC) The Simulation results show that the proposed MAC achieves lower energy consumption, higher throughput and low latency than the IEEE 802.15.4 standard.

Analysis on the Marine Traffic Flow Characteristics for Gamcheon Harbor (감천항 해역에 대한 해상교통특성 분석)

  • Gamcheon harbor was developed as a multipurpose port to mix processing functions of exclusive piers for bulk cargo such as marine products, domestic cargoes. Since the container terminal was opened in 1997, maximum $40,000\sim50,000$ DWT containership have been incoming and outgoing. However, bemuse the breakwater entrance in Gamcheon harbor is narrow and the crossed vessels are ever-present at breakwater front, marine accident danger is high that grasping traffic characteristics is required in reply. Therefore marine traffic characteristics were analyzed for Gamcheon harbor and Gamcheon approaching waters, included the track and traffic volumes of peak hours period in inbound/outbound and front sea area of the harbor in present.

  • The lack of QoS (Quality of Service) support functionalities in IEEE 802.11 DCF mode makes it difficult to provide real-time multimedia services in WLANs. In this paper, we propose an effective available bandwidth measurement method in IEEE 802.11b DCF environments. The proposed method measures the total channel idle time and the collision probability during each measurement period. Then, the available bandwidth is calculated by considering those measured information and the transmission overheads at MAC and PRY layers. The performances of the proposed method are evaluated using OPNET simulator. The simulation results show that the proposed method provides more exact results than existing comparable schemes.

  • 실감 재현이 중요한 가상현실 응용에서는 사용자에게 고급 그래픽 환경을 제시하고 사용자의 인터랙션에 즉각적인 피드백을 제공함으로서 실재감과 몰입감을 증대시키는 연구가 진행되어왔다. 실재감, 공간감 전달을 위해 시각과 청각을 함께 활용하는 것이 효과적이나, 가상공간의 특징을 반영한 3차원 사운도 재현 연구는 국내외 통틀어 초기단계에 머물러 있다. 실재감과 공간감을 반영한 3차원 사운드의 재현을 위해서는 음원의 전파, 반사, 잔향 풍의 계산이 사용자의 인터랙션에 따라 새롭게 계산되어야한다. 그러나 사운드 전파경로와 공간을 이루는 모든 폴리곤들과의 충돌을 검사하며 반사 등을 계산하는 것은 실시간성이 중요한 가상현실응용에서는 무리가 따르므로 실 시간성을 보장하기 위한 계산량 축소가 요구된다. 본 논문에서는 다수의 음원이 존재하는 복잡한 가상공간에서의 3차원 사운드를 재현하기 위하여 사운드 신과 계산에 필요한 최소한의 정보를 가지는 오디오 씬 그라프의 공간을 재구성하고 다수의 음원을 대상으로 음원 축소 및 군집화를 적용하여 3차원 사운드효과를 실시간으로 재현하는 알고리즘을 제안한다.

  • This paper proposed an analytical framework to compare and model the policy-based network management; centralized and distributed typed model. Policy-based network is introduced in various application fields, and a policy framework can offer different processing performance according to application. Therefore, we evaluated the performance and extensibility of each PBNM model when we apply the policy process to the models. The evaluated measurement metrics are policy provisioning time, traffic occurrence amount, PDP processing rate, and global conflict detection in qualitative simulation. The results show that the suitable structure is required according to the analysis for the careful application characteristics, when PBNM is adopted. The modeling framework presented in this paper is intended to quantify the merits and demerits among the currently suggested PBNM models.

  • 온라인 화상회의, VOD 등의 멀티캐스트(multicast)특성을 갖는 서비스를 효율적으로 제공하기 위해서는 스위치 수준에서의 멀티캐스트 트래픽 처리를 위한 연구가 필요하다. ATM 스위치 증 입력 버퍼형은 하드웨어 구현 복잡도가 낮아 고속의 트래픽 처리와 대용량 스위치 구현에 적합한 반면, 높은 성능을 가지기 위해서는 임의접근(random access) 입력버퍼와 좋은 셀 스케쥴링 알고리즘이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 입혁버퍼형 ATM 스위치에서의 멀티캐스트 셀 스케쥴링 알고리즘인 무충동 시간예약(CFTR)기법을 제안한다. CFTR 기법은 입력버퍼의 셀의 전송시점을 충돌이 없도록 예약함으로써 높은 처리율을 가질 수 있도록 하며, 이를 위해 입력단, 출력단 스케쥴러에 예약 테이블을 둔다. CFTR 기법은 각 출력 단 스케쥴러에서의 예약과정이 간단하고 독립적, 병렬적 수행이 가능하므로 고속 트래픽 처리에 적합하다. CFTR 기법의 성능평가를 위해 시뮬레이션을 통해 기존의 셀 스케쥴링 방식과 비교하며, 약간의 하드웨어 추가로 매우 좋은 성능을 보임을 알 수 있다.

  • Almost all the RFID systems in the 13.56MHz ISM band adopt the FSA algorithm as the anti-collision algorithm. The FSA algorithm is based on the slotted ALOHA with a fixed frame size. The FSA, though simple, has a disadvantage that when the number of tags is variable, the system performance degrades because of the fixed frame size. Therefore, this paper proposes a new OFSA. The proposed OFSA algorithm dynamically allocates the optimal frame size at every frame based on the number of tags in the reader's identification range. According to the simulation results, the system efficiency of the proposed algorithm should be maintained optimally. Also, the proposed algorithm always obtained the minimum tag identification delay.

  • The MAC protocol of HiperLAN/2 is based on TDMA/TDD. The radio channels are assigned by AP(Access Point) that is centrally operated. Mobile terminal that data transmission is necessary to uplink requests radio resource to AP through RCH channel. The changing number of RCHs in each MAC frame is important because too many RCHs may result in a waste of radio resources and too few RCHs may result in many access collisions and prolong time that connect to AP. Therefore, number of RCH should be allocated properly according to traffic. From these viewpoint, this paper proposes an advanced scheme that dynamically changed the number of RCH which is based on the number of success and collision of RR message in previous MAC frame. To prove efficiency of proposed scheme, a lots of simulations are conducted and analyzed.
