A Study on the Visual Perception of Characters Using Eye Tracking (시선추적장치를 활용한 캐릭터의 시지각 집중도에 관한 연구)

  • This study is to analyze the concentration of visual perception of the subject through the eye-tracking experiments targeting popular characters and to investigate it is effective to highlight which part of the character in inducing consumers' interest and curiosity. As a result of the study, the subjects paid more attention to the face than the character's body, and also noted a little attention to auxiliary elements such as pants, tees, shoes, and whiskers. These results mean there is clearly different factor in which the subject's gaze on the character frequently stays and does for a long time. Therefore, the designers should recognize the differences of the concentration of visual perception by character components as a differentiating factor to feel the emotional satisfaction such as the user's interest, empathy, and immersion in the character and actively reflect it when developing the character design. In addition, there was a difference in the visual perception concentration of each of the auxiliary elements, and if careful research is done on whether the influence factors are also due to individual characteristics or another influential factors, it will be a wider study on character design.

  • In this study, active and recently in the field of vocational rehabilitation of persons with disabilities in the industry engaged in the primary mission of assisting you want to promote activation of devices that can perform the work of the harvest cart or unattended devices such as tool boxes and tracking system developed. This system is manually moved from a remote user is able to control, and also, the ability to track users unattended mounted. The system developed in this study in the field of vocational rehabilitation in order to allow all sides to assess more than three meters in open space system for the Y-and W-course driving range of the error from the final destination 5 times the period analyzed. Analysis of the user's tracking system developed without any problem and that could know.

  • Recently, not only congenital hearing impairment, but also the number of people with hearing impairment due to acquired factors is increasing. The environment in which sign language can be learned is poor. Therefore, this study intends to present a sign language (sign language number/sign language text) evaluation system as a sign language learning assistance tool for sign language learners. Therefore, in this paper, sign language is captured as an image using OpenCV and Convolutional Neural Network (CNN). In addition, we study a system that recognizes sign language behavior using MediaPipe, converts the meaning of sign language into text-type data, and provides it to users. Through this, self-directed learning is possible so that learners who learn sign language can judge whether they are correct dez. Therefore, we develop a sign language learning assistance system that helps us learn sign language. The purpose is to propose a sign language learning assistance system as a way to support sign language learning, the main language of communication for the hearing impaired.

Development of a Vision-based Lane Change Assistance System for Safe Driving (안전주행을 위한 비전 기반의 차선변경보조시스템 개발)

  • This paper describes a lane change assistance system for the help of safe lane change, which detects vehicles approaching from the rear side by using a computer vision algorithm and notifies the possibility of safe lane change to a driver. In case a driver tries to lane change, the proposed system can detect vehicles and keep track of them. After detecting side lane lines, region of interest for vehicle detection is decided. For detection a vehicle, optical flow technique is applied. The experimental result of the proposed algorithm and system showed that the vehicle detection rate was 91% and the embedded system would have application to a lane change assistance system being commercialized in the near future.

  • 본 논문에서는 지능형 자동차의 주행보조 시스템 중의 하나인 교통 표지판 인식을 위한 새로운 방법을 제안한다. 제안한 방법은 잡음, 회전, 크기 등의 변형된 교통 표지판으로부터 기하학적 방법을 이용하여 변형된 정도를 추정하여 교통 표지판 원형으로 보정한다. 그리고 교통 표지판 인식을 위해서 보정된 표지판 영상으로부터 순차적 색기반 군집화(Sequential color-based clustering)에 의한 주의, 규제, 지시, 보조 등의 1차적 분류에 따라서 해당 교통 표지판의 형태 특징인 인식 심벌을 추출한다. 그리고 추출된 인식 심벌에 원형 추척법을 적용하여 교통 표지판 최종 인식 작업을 수행한다. 제안하는 방법의 성능 평가를 위해서 교통 표지판 영상에 잡음, 회전, 크기 등의 임의 변형을 적용하여 다양한 실험 영상을 만들고, 적용한 결과 단일 변형에서는 95%, 혼합 변형에서는 93% 이상의 인식률을 보인다.

Impact of Postoperative Oral Administration of UFT for Completely Resected pT2N0 Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (완전 절제된 비소세포폐암 병기 IB (pT2N0) 환자에서 수술 후 UFT의 효과)

  • Background: Recent studies have suggested that UFT may be an effective adjuvant therapy for completely resected IB (pT2N0) non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). We designed this study to clarify the feasibility of performing adjuvant chemotherapy with UFT for completely resected IB nor-small cell lung cancer, Material and Method: We randomly assigned patients suffering with completely resected IB non-small cell lung cancer to receive either UFT 3g for 2 year or they received no treatment. All patients had to be followed until death or the cut-off date (December 31 2006). Result: From June 2002 through December 2004, 64 patients were enrolled. Thirty five patients were assigned to receive UFT (the UFT group) and 29 patients were assigned to observation (the control group). A follow-up surrey on the 3 year survival rate was successfully completed for all the patients. The median follow-up time for all the patients was 32.8 months. In the UFT group, the median time of administration was 98 weeks (range: $2{\sim}129$ weeks). The rate of compliance was 88.2% at 6 months, 87.5% at 12 months, 80.6% at 18 month and 66.7% at 24 months. Seven recurrences (24.1%) occurred in the control group and six (17.1%) occurred in the UFT group (p=0,489). The three-year disease free survival rate was 71.3% for the control group and 82.0% for the UFT group (p=0.331). On the subgroup analysis, the three-year disease free survival rate for the patients with adenocacinoma was 45.0% for the control group and 75.2% for the UFT group (p=0.121). The three-year disease free survival rate for the patients with non-adenocarcinoma was 88.1% for the control group and 88.9% for the UFT group (p=0.964), Conclusion: Postoperative oral administration of UFT was well-tolerated. Adjuvant chemotherapy with UFT for completely resected pT2N0 adenocarcinoma of the lung could be expected to improve the disease free survival, but this failed to achieve statistical significance. A prospective randomized study for a large number of patients will be necessary.

An Eyetracking Study on the Measurement of Newspaper Advertising Exposure Effects : Comparison with Data Collected by Recognition Measurement (안구운동 추적을 활용한 신문광고 노출효과 측정 방법론 연구 : 보조인지 설문 응답과 비교를 통하여)

  • 1990년대 후반까지 줄곧 광고 시장 점유율 1위를 차지하던 신문광고가 2001년을 기점으로 광고 시장 점유율의 지속적인 하락세를 보이고 있다. 이는 인터넷과 같은 경쟁적인 뉴미디어가 급격히 성장하는 데 그 원인이 있을 뿐만 아니라, 신문의 광고효과를 산출하는 과학적 방법론이 부족하다는 데에도 그 원인이 있다. 이러한 문제의식에서 출발하여, 본 연구에서는 안구운동 추적(eyetracking)을 활용하여 신문광고의 노출효과를 측정했다. 이를 위하여, 기존 신문 구독자의 인구통계학적 분포에 따라 추출된 50명의 표본을 대상으로, 신문의 면내 광고별 체류시간을 헤드 마운트형 안구운동 추적기(head-mounted eyetracker)를 활용하여 측정했다. 실험 결과, 데이터의 95%가 기존의 주의-기억 단계를 따르는 순차적인 정보처리모델과 스타치 구독률 조사(starch readership reports) 결과와 안구운동 추적 결과와 일치했다. 하지만, 5%의 데이터가 주의와 기억 단계의 차이에 기인한 이월 효과(carry-out)로 순차적인 정보처리모델과 일치하지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 즉 5%가량이 광고를 보지 않았음에도 봤다고 표시했다. 또한, 기존에 스타치 구독률 조사와 같은 재인 측정 방법을 통하여 간접적으로 측정하였던 기존의 신문 광고 노출율(보통 30%)에 비하여, 직접 측정한 결과 60%에 달하는 광고 노출율을 보였다. 이는 기존의 인식과 달리, 스타치 구독률 조사가 단순 노출 정도가 아니라, 응답자의 선택적인 기억 결과를 측정한 것임을 보여준다. 이로써, 안구운동 추적을 활용한 노출효과측정은 기존에 스타치 구독률 조사에서 놓치고 있는 부분을 보완할 수 있는 기법임을 보여준다. 또한 이 기법에 의하여 도출된 노출율은 60%에 달하여 기존의 약30%로 제시된 연구결과들이 실제로 측정기법의 한계로 인하여, 기억이 가지고 있는 왜곡을 그대로 반영한 노출율에 관한 자료를 쓰는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구에서 제안된 노출효과 측정방법론은 기존의 왜곡된 데이터를 보완하고, 신문 광고 시장의 과학적인 측정기법을 발전시키는 데 의미 있는 기여를 할 것으로 기대한다.

  • Digitalized Image Information is variously used like to substitute or help human's visual ability. Unmanned observation Camera is useful for the preventing disaster, risk factor and object observation but it is mostly to depend on awareness for human's vision. The purpose of this paper is to show that Unmanned Aerial Camera carries out object recognition and autonomous position tracking. when the informations about a specific object are given. For this purpose, we have to solve complicated problems like change according to object movement and variation of color and brightness information with refraction, interference and scattering of light and noise from environmental factors like weather. But, as the first step we limit the scope of this study with simplified environment in this paper. Our goal is the study and experience about object recognition and tracking via simplified environment with unmanned aerial camera. We obtained successful results of this study and experiment.

  • The construction industry has the highest occupational accidents/injuries and has experienced the most fatalities among entire industries. Korean government installed surveillance camera systems at construction sites to reduce occupational accident rates. Construction safety managers are monitoring potential hazards at the sites through surveillance system; however, the human capability of monitoring surveillance system with their own eyes has critical issues. A long-time monitoring surveillance system causes high physical fatigue and has limitations in grasping all accidents in real-time. Therefore, this study aims to build a deep learning-based safety monitoring system that can obtain information on the recognition, location, identification of workers and heavy equipment in the construction sites by applying multiple object tracking with instance segmentation. To evaluate the system's performance, we utilized the Microsoft common objects in context and the multiple object tracking challenge metrics. These results prove that it is optimal for efficiently automating monitoring surveillance system task at construction sites.

Side-Peak Cancellation Scheme Based on Combination of Sub-Correlations for BOC Signal Tracking (BOC 신호 추적을 위한 부상관함수 결합 기반 주변첨두 제거 기법)

  • In this paper, we propose a novel cancellation scheme of correlation side-peaks for binary offset carrier (BOC) signals. The proposed scheme is based on a combination of the sub-correlation functions composing the BOC autocorrelation and applicable to both sine- and cosine-phased BOC signals without requiring any auxiliary signal in the receiver. From numerical results, it is confirmed that the proposed scheme provides a better tracking accuracy than the conventional schemes.
