Approximation Method to Estimate Water Entry Impact Forces Acting on Light Weight Torpedo (경어뢰 입수 충격력의 근사화)

  • The water entry forces acting on an air-dropped torpedo are of the restrictions on launch speed and launch altitude, because it could cause the structural damage to components of torpedo. Therefore, it is necessary to estimate the water entry forces with confidence according to launch conditions. In this study, an approximation method for water entry forces is presented, and the results using this approximation are compared with those of other numerical methods. The magnitude and duration of impact forces estimated by the present approximation agree with those of impact by the analysis of ideal or viscous flow. This method can give useful tools to select the launch in initial design stage.

An Anisotropic Elasto-Plastic Constitutive Model Based on the Generalized Isotropic Hardening Rule for Clays (일반 등방경화규칙에 의거한 점토의 비등방 탄소성 구성모델)

  • To model the anisotropic behavior of soils in the case of reverse loading, an anisotropic hardening description is proposed on the basis of generalized isotropic hardening(GIH) rule. There is a core of the GIH rule in the allowance of the concept that the center of homology of isotropic hardening can be any proper stress states inside a yield surface. The plastic deformations could be represented for the condition of reverse loading, and an explicit constitutive relationship was formulated by utilizing a simple hardening function. The proposed hardening description has been compared with other anisotropic hardening models. For verification three sets of triaxial test results have been predicted for the drained and undrained behavior of overconsolidated clays and Ko consolidated clays.

  • 컴퓨터를 이용한 모의 실험 방법은 과학 및 공학 분야뿐만 아니라 경제,사회 현상등에도 널리 적용될 수 있는 유용한 도구이다. 그 중에서도 연속체계 모의 실험은 미분 방정식으로 모델링되는 시스템을 대상으로 하는 경우가 맡으며, 이를 위하여 그동안 맡은 연속체계 모의 실험 언어들이 개발되었다. 그러나 그들은 대부분 사용하기가 복잡하여 사용자 편의성을 고려한 모의 실험 언어에 대한 필요성이 증대되었다. 본 연구에서는 사용자에개 최대한 편의성을 제공하는 연속체계 모의 실험 언어인 PCSL (Postech Continuous-system Simulation language)을 개발하였다. PCSL 프로그램은 프로그램 헤더, 상수 정의부, 함수 정의부, 매개 변수 정의부, 초기화 선언부, 모델 정의부, 종료 조건 선언부, 출력 선언부 등으로 나누어 진다. 그리고 출력으로는 계산 결과를 파일에 저장, 흑은 수치로 인쇄하거나 그래프로 그려서 보여준다. PCSL 처리 시스템은 모델 정의부에서 주어진 미분방정식을 해석해서 digital-analog simulation 기법으로 풀 수 있는 형태로 변환하는 번역기와 이렇게 변환된 형태의 미분방정식과 여러 가지 조건들을 고려해서 C 프로그램을 생성해주는 생성기, 생성된 C 프로그램을 실행시켜서 그 결과를 얻는 실행기,그리고 사용자에게 편리한 입출력 방법을 제공하는 사용자 인터페이스로 구성된다. 번역기에서는 모델로 주어진 미분방정식의 종류를 결정한 후에 이들을 digital-analog simulation 기법으로 풀 수 있는 형태로 변환한다. 생성기에서는 번역기의 결과를 받고,프로그램 상의 여러 가지 조건들을 고려해서 C 프로그램을 생성한다. 여기서 생성된 C프로그램은 미분방정식을 포함하는 ‘f.c'와 조건들을 포함하는'main.h', 그리고 digital-analog simulation 기법을 이용하는 모의 실험 알고리즘을 구현한 'main.c'로 구성된다. 그리고 실행기에서는 생성기에서 생성한 C 프로그램을 실행시켜서 결과를 얻는다. 여기에서 필요로 하는 PCSL 프로그램의 내응은 종료 조건 선언부, 출력 선언부 등이다. 마지막으로 사용자 인터페이스는 사용자가 간편하게 PCSL 프로그램을 입력할 수 있게 도와주며 모의 실험 결과를 쉽게 화면상에 보여주기 위한 것이다. 이 때에 사용자가 원하면 계산 결과를 그래프로 그려서 보여주는 기능과 화면에 보이는 결과를 프린터로 출력할 수 있는 기능을 제공한다. 실형 결과로는 먼저 선형 상미분방정식의 예로 mass-damper-spring system, 비선형 상미분방정식의 예로는 van der Pol 방정식, 연립 상미분방정식의 예로는 mixing tank problem 등을 보였으며, 그의 공학에서 일어나는 여러 가지 문제들도 다루었다.

Hybrid Heuristic Applied by the Opportunity Time to Solve the Vehicle Routing and Scheduling Problem with Time Window (시간 제약을 가지는 차량 경로 스케줄링 문제 해결을 위한 기회시간 반영 하이브리드 휴리스틱)

  • This paper proposes the hybrid heuristic method to apply the opportunity time to solve the vehicle routing and scheduling problem with time constraints(VRSPTW). The opportunity time indicates the idle time which remains after the vehicle performs the unloading service required by each customer's node. In this proposed heuristic, we add the constraints to VRSPTW model for the opportunity time. We also obtain the initial solution by applying the cost evaluation function to the insertion strategy considering the opportunity time. In addition, we improve the former result by applying the opportunity time to the tabu search strategy by swapping the customer's node. Finally, we suggest the construction strategies of initial routing which can efficiently acquire the nearest optimal solution from various types of data in terms of geographical condition, scheduling horizon and vehicle capacity. Our experiment show that our heuristic can get the nearest optimal solution more efficiently than the Solomon's I1 heuristic.

Optimal Life Cycle Cost Design of a Bridge (교량의 생애주기비용 최적설계)

  • The importance of the life cycle cost (LCC) analysis for bridges has been recognized over the last decade. However, it is difficult to predict LCC precisely since the costs occurring throughout the service life of the bridge depend on various parameters such as design, construction, maintenance, and environmental conditions. This paper presents a methodology for the optimal life cycle cost design of a bridge. Total LCC for the service life is calculated as the sum of initial cost, damage cost, maintenance cost, repair and rehabilitation cost, user cost, and disposal cost. The optimization method is applied to design of a bridge structure with minimal cost, in which the objective function is set to LCC and constraints are formulated on the basis of Korean Bridge Design Code. Initial cost is calculated based on standard costs of the Korea Construction Price Index and damage cost on damage probabilities to consider the uncertainty of load and resistance. Repair and rehabilitation cost is determined using load carrying capacity curves and user cost includes traffic operation costs and time delay costs. The optimal life cycle cost design of a bridge is performed and the effects of parameters are investigated.

An Experimental Study on Sedimentation-Consolidation Characteristics for Marine Clay in Korea (국내 해성점토의 침강압밀특성에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • In this research, settling tests with marine clays in Korea and extensive literature review were performed to investigate the characteristics of sedimentation and consolidation so that their behaviors during dredging and reclamating could be evaluated. Design parameters related to Yano's method (1985), one of experimental approaches having been used widely in Korea to estimate sedimentation and consolidation, were analyzed and their proprieties were reassessed. For samples from four different sites of south and west coasts in Korea respectively, settling tests with 1m height of columns were carried out, changing initial water content and height of sample in order to evaluate settling and consolidation characteristics of them from analyzing test results. More reliable regression curves than values from literature review were obtained as analyzing test results of estimating coefficient of sedimentation/ consolidation and initial setting velocity with changing initial water content. Relation between height of soil solid and surface height of slurry at the stages of initiation and termination of consolidation was also assessed. Finally, for marine clays of south and west coasts of Korea, ranges and average values of these design parameters were evaluated and typical empirical equations between these design parameters were also proposed. On the other hand, comparisons of characteristics of sedimentation and consolidation between marine clays from south coast and them from west coast were also performed.

Dynamic p-y Backbone Curves for a Pile in Saturated Sand (포화 사질토 지반에서의 동적 p-y 중추곡선)

  • In this study, a series of 1 g shaking table model pile tests were carried out in saturated dense and loose sand to evaluate dynamic p-y curves for various conditions of flexural stiffness of a pile shaft, acceleration frequency and acceleration amplitude for input loads. Dynamic p-y backbone curve which can be applied to pseudo static analysis for saturated dense sand was proposed as a hyperbolic function by connecting the peak points of the experimental p-y curves, which corresponded to maximum soil resistances. In order to represent the backbone curve numerically, empirical equations were developed for the initial stiffness ($k_{ini}$) and the ultimate capacity ($p_u$) of soils as a function of a friction angle and a confining stress. The applicability of a p-y backbone curve was evaluated based on the centrifuge test results of other researchers cited in literature, and this suggested backbone curve was also compared with the currently available p-y curves. And also, the scaling factor ($S_F$) to account for the degradation of soil resistance according to the excess pore pressure was developed from the results of saturated loose sand.

A study for Hydrological Infiltration Properties of Permeable Pavement (투수성 포장재의 수문학적 침투 특성에 관한 연구)

  • 최근 급격한 도시화는 홍수량 증가 및 갈수 시 하천의 건천화 등 유역의 유출특성 변화를 가져왔다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 문제를 해결하는 방안 중 하나인 투수성 포장의 유역 내 수문학적 효과를 분석하였다. 이를 위해 투수성 포장을 이용한 수리모형 실험 및 수치모형(SWMM)을 병행하여 수행하였다. 연구에 사용한 수치모형은 기존 도시유출 모형인 SWMM(Storm Water Management Model) 모형에 투수성 포장의 수문학적 효과를 고려할 수 있도록 수정된 모형이며, 수리모형 실험 결과를 토대로 수치모형의 중요 매개변수를 추정하였다. 또한 실험에 의해 관측된 지표 및 지하수 유출량과 수치모형에 의해 산출된 자료를 비교.분석하여 수정된 SWMM 모형의 유용성을 평가하였다. 강우강도가 65 mm/hr, 90 mm/hr, 95 mm/hr인 강우를 4시간씩 공급하는 경우에 대한 3가지 수리모형 실험을 수행하였다. 수리모형실험 결과 강우강도는 지표면 유출의 크기에 직접적인 영향을 미치고 있었으며 지하수 유출량은 강우강도 보다는 지하수위 조건에 더 큰 영향을 받는 것으로 분석되었다. 수리모형 실험결과 및 수치모형 모의결과를 비교 분석한 결과, 토양 함수량 및 지하수위 변동 특성은 초기에서 정상상태로 전이되는 부분과 강우 정지 후 감소되는 부분에서 수리모형 실험과 다른 양상을 보였다. 지하수위는 실험 시 발생하는 공기층의 포집이 많은 영향을 미치고 있음을 알 수 있었고, 함수량 변화에 있어서는 수치모형(SWMM)의 모의 결과가 과도하게 감소하는 특성을 보여 주고 있었다. 즉, 유출량의 특성은 비슷한 양상을 보이고 있으나 지하수위 변화 및 토양 내 함수량 변화 예측에 있어서는 그 정확도가 떨어지는 것으로 평가되었다. 그러나 본 연구결과를 통하여 투수성 포장과 지하수에 관련된 매개변수의 집적과 분석결과는 현장기술 적용 시 매개변수의 유용한 선택과 도시유역의 물 순환 건전화 대안기술 적용에 효과적인 방법론을 제시할 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

Optimal Design of Hybrid Motor with HTPB/LOX for Air-Launch Vehicle (공중발사체를 위한 HTPB/LOX 하이브리드 모터의 최적설계)

  • Optimal design of the hybrid motor has been performed for the first stage of nanosat air launch vehicle using F-4E Phantom as mother plane. Selected design variables are number of ports, the initial oxidizer flux, the combustion chamber pressure, and the nozzle expansion ratio. GBM(Gradient Based Method) and GA(Genetic Algorithm) are simultaneously used to compare the versatility of each algorithm for optimal design in this problem. Also, two objective functions of motor weight, and length are treated separatedly in the optimization to study how the objective function can affect the optimal design. The design results show that the optimal design can be successfully achieved either using GBM or GA regardless of the choice of the objective function; motor weight or length. And nanosat air launch vehicle which has total mass of 704.74kg, and length of first stage 3.74m is designed.

Image Encryption using the chaos function and elementary matrix operations (혼돈함수와 기본 행렬 연산을 이용한 영상의 암호화)

  • Due to the spread of mobile communication with the development of computer network, nowadays various types of multimedia data play an important role in many areas such as entertainments, culture contents, e-commerce or medical science. But for the real application of these data, the security in the course of saving or transferring them through the public network should be assured. In this sense, many encryption algorithm have been developed and utilized. Nonetheless, most of them have focused on the text data. So they may not be suitable to the multimedia application because of their large size and real time constraint. In this paper, a chaotic map has been employed to create a symmetric stream type of encryption scheme which may be applied to the digital images with a large amounts of data. Then an efficient algebraic encryption algorithm based on the elementary operations of the Boolean matrix and image data characteristics.
