  • In this study, we investigated which message provider is effective in a virtual reality (VR) environment for individuals with different needs with regard to affect (need for affect [NFA]) and cognition (need for cognition [NFC]). According to Haddock et al (2008), individuals with high NFA were more influenced to change their behavior by the emotional aspects of a message, whereas individuals with high NFC were more influenced by the cognitive aspects of the same message. We hypothesized that individual differences in needs could affect not only receipt of the message but also the acceptability of the message provider. For example, someone with high NFA might accept messages more easily from an acquaintance than from experts. In the VR environment, the appearance of the message provider could be manipulated in a way that makes him or her more familiar to the person receiving the message. Accordingly, in order to promote the effectiveness of message providers in a VR environment according to the individual difference in needs, we measured the level of the preference and self-efficacy according to needs (NFA or NFC), type of message provider (expert, significant other, or other), and VR device (text or VR). Contrary to what we expected, the results showed that there was no matching effect between the needs and the message provider. However, we found that level of preference and self-efficacy were significantly high when a VR device was worn only by participants with high NFA. This result suggests that a VR environment is more suitable for providing health advice to people with high NFA. In addition, the novelty of this study is that we tried to find the tailored message provider on health advice in VR environment and it is in the early stage of the research.

  • Smad proteins mediate transforming growth $factor(TGF)-{\beta}$ signaling and play a pivotal role in embryonic development. The estrogen receptor-related receptors(ERRs), which are structurally similar to estrogen receptors, are members of orphan nuclear receptor in the nuclear receptor superfamily and their functions are known to be involved in the formation of extra-embryonic ectoderm. To investigate the involvement of Smad3 and $ERR{\beta}$ like 1 in reproductive activities and embryogenesis in marine invertebrate, we examined gene expression of Smad3 and $ERR{\beta}$ like 1 in Strongylocentrotus nudus during their seasonal changes and embryonic development using real-time polymerase chain reaction. The Smad3 mRNA levels in gonad showed an increasing pattern from February to June 2004 but decreased at August(spawning season) followed by an elevation of the levels at October and December 2004. The mRNA levels of the $ERR{\beta}$ like 1 significantly elevated during the spawning season. During embryonic development, Smad3 mRNA levels at $8{\sim}16$ cell stages were significantly higher than those of other stages, whereas the mRNA of the $ERR{\beta}$ like 1 was significantly high levels at late development stages, i.e., blastular, gastrula and plutei stages. These results suggest that the Smad3 could be involved at least in part in the early cleavage stages and the $ERR{\beta}$ like 1 may play an important role in the spawning season and late developmental stage in the sea urchin.

  • New media art moves out of place and time constraints, sublimates the benefits of technology into art, and presents a new way of communication with the audience. This paper analyses the tendency of nonverbal communication methods by analysing examples of facial expressions and sound used in new media art from early times. As a result, it can be seen that the digital paradigm in the new media art has a nonlinear thinking, which makes a perceptual reduction of immersion and dispersion. The facial expression in new media art made it possible not only to overcome the limit of space and time of various expressions through 'visual distortions, enlargement, and virtualisation', but also to enable new ways of communication to display facial parts combined or separated in the digital environment. The sound in new media art does not stay in auditory sense, but pursues multi-sensory and synesthesia by cooperating with visual and tactile, evolves by revealing characteristics of space expansion and sensibility and interaction of audience.

  • Young Chinese audience can select and watch TV dramas, movies and entertainment programs from many different nations, such as Korea, America, Japan, England, Thailand, India, and so on, through multiple channels, such as online video sites - iQiyi, Youku, LeTV, PPTV, and many others - which were induced by changes in media environment. Various genres of Korean popular culture have recently become popular in China, but this phenomenon differs from the early Korean Wave. During the earlier period (from 1997 to the early 2000s) of the Korean Wave, soap operas were popular among middle-aged women, but now various other genres, such as K-pop, entertainment programs, etc., are also popular in China. The purpose of this study is to explore how young Chinese audiences use foreign pop culture, including their preferred genres, reasons for preferring these genres, and the relationship between the preferred pop culture and national image in Korean, American, and Japanese pop culture were analyzed. According to the study results, similarities and differences between preferred genres and the reasons for preferring these genres, and also a close correlation between preferred pop culture and national image were found. These findings will be fundamental for supporting the continual development of the Korean Wave in China.

  • PSM is widely used pricing tool in field by the reason of data collection convenience and analytical intuitiveness. However, In high involvement environment, strategic respondent bias influence in reducing the price. By using 3 empirical cases of LH apartment for sale, We found that latent consumers' recognition of the range of acceptable and the range of optimal price are lower than real estate agent representative respondents'. This phenomenon is considered loss aversion effect of prospect theory to reduce loss by reducing price, and more influenced in high involvement situation than latent consumer respondents'. Also we found PSM result using real estate representative data is more useful in real market than latent consumers data distorted by loss aversion effects. The meaning of this study is finding some limitation in PSM using consumer data generally used. In further study, development of PSM measurement tool to minimize the effect of strategic bias are need to be studied. Also some new approaches in reinterpretation of the range of acceptable price and the range of optimal price are need to be followed.

  • Russian anarchist thinker P. A. Kropotkin had a significant impact on the school of thought, the literary field and the anarchist movement in East Asia in the early 20th century. This paper examines the history of the translation of Kropotkin in terms of the routes and paths of translation in colonial Korea in comparison with those in Japan and China. It is a known fact that the acceptance of Kropotkin in colonial Korea is owed to pioneering translation works in Japan, but it appears that there have been various transformations and magnetizations in the process of translating the texts into the Korean language. Despite a disturbing censorship, the works of Kropotkin, such as "I appeal to the youth ("Aux Jeunes Gens" in French)", were imported, translated and distributed by various routes throughout the 1920s and there were various versions of translated Korean texts. At this point, it is noteworthy that there are works which were translated from Chinese texts about Kropotkin, such as the works of Yu Seo (柳絮), and it can be said that there is a relationship between Korean translations and Chinese original texts. Since the 1930s, the phenomenon of the appropriation of Kropotkin as a litterateur and critic rather than an anarchist thinker is particularly apparent, and this allows us to understand that Kropotkin became a major pathway to interpret Russian literature in East Asia. In colonial Korea, translations of Kropotkin were generally via Japan and China, but the process of translation also showed the struggle to accept and adapt 'the foreign text' into the Korean language.

  • Currently, there is no bill about Maternal Inference and the Family Law about surrogate birth in Korea. Also, Problems of surrogate mother were reported by media socially, but these discussions did not discuss continuously. Early in the course that establishing process of Bioethics and Safety Act, there was a discussion. But it cannot acceptance as Act, it issued legally and ethically. Despite the difficult of legal interpretation and ethical problem, the surrogate birth practiced covertly and frequently. And about this, our law just declared its invalidity because it is contrary to public order and good moral until recently. Therefore, if it leaves as invalidation, the problem about right of surrogate mother and the baby from her it may occur a serious social problem. From now, about the issue of surrogacy contracts the legal and medical countermeasures to be taken. Therefore, to solve many problems about surrogacy contract, consider the problem of surrogacy contract, also suggest legislative study about Korean surrogate mother based on legislative cases of foreign countries.

  • In this work, activated carbon fibers (ACFs) were oxyfluorinated and their adsorption ability for the low concentration of hexavalent chromium in an aqueous solution was investigated. The pore structure and surface properties of ACFs were examined by BET and X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS), respectively. Due to the oxyfluorination treatment, the content of (C-O) bond on ACFs surface which influences the adsorption capacity for heavy metal ions increased largely, resulting that $Cr^{6+}$ adsorption equilibrium reached quickly within 10 min. In addition, the maximum removal efficiency at the initial $Cr^{6+}$ concentration of 20 ppm was observed, which is a 100% improvement compared to that of non-treated ACFs. These results suggest that the oxyfluorination of ACFs can be applied as a good surface treatment for the effective adsorption of the low concentration of $Cr^{6+}$.

  • This study's purpose is a search for the conceptual variety of media education. For this purpose, media education's surrounding is used to search by two of view. First view is about the condition of media education that includes an advent of new media, consumer's attitude change to user and variety of educational change. And then the variable paradigm of media education are viewed how it is connected with the theories of media with time. Change of surrounding and theoretical variety tell us why concept of media education should be revised. So, in this study, many scholar's definitions of the media education are regarded. From the rally stage of education for the television, the media education's definition has formed as new field. After that, media education expanded to the media literacy as communication competence with an advent of new media. This means that media education would be variably extend to verbal media education, critical interpretation of the contents and communication with community.

  • In this research, risk factors which can raise project cost are identified in the initial stage and picked out through the decision maker's baseline. And also this probable risks are implemented to the project cash flow to estimate the contingency and to build a risk management system in the level of project. The risks that affect the projects profits were classified in two categories in the risk checklist. Firstly, financial risks derived from the external economic conditions for example exchange rate, escalation, interest rates etc. are analyzed through the stochastic methods, Monte-Carlo Simulation. Secondly, the project individual risks which are come from the project characteristics, for example country risk, clime, owner etc., are evaluated using the utility curve of the decision maker. Finally these risk analysis methods are used to forecast the actual project cash flow and final profit.
