  • This study seeks to develop efficient strategies for the implementation of lifelong education programs designed for individuals with disabilities in Gongju City. The primary focus is on creating a community-based lifelong learning environment. A comprehensive survey was conducted targeting 61 guardians with experience in lifelong education for individuals with disabilities in Gongju City. The findings of the study suggest a holistic strategy for the establishment of lifelong education programs for individuals with disabilities. This plan emphasizes the significance of tailored lifelong education programs that cater to the varying levels of disability, characteristics, and needs present within this demographic. Furthermore, it argues for the development of a functional system that considers the needs of both individuals with disabilities and their caregivers throughout the design and implementation stages of lifelong education initiatives.

The substances of the review were subject(population), auditory stimulation, measure equipments and physiologic response features of psychiatric disorder. Results : 1. The subjects for the studies were anxiety disorder(4) and schizophrenia(4). 2. Auditory stimulation was used in 8 studies and visual stimulation with auditory stimulation was used in 2 studies to induce physiologic response. 3. Every study used electromyograph, and skin conductance was used in 2 studies and heart rate was used in 2 studies with electromyograph to measure physiologic response. 4. The subjects for the studies, schizophrenia and anxiety disorder(PTSD, OCD) have different physiologic response features with the normal control group. Conclusion : All studies used simple tones as an auditory stimulation and electromyograph to measure physiologic response. Psychiatric disorders indicated larger response, shorter and delayed habituation. The objective and systematic study using physiologic measure to investigate the sensory feature of psychologic disorders.

  • This study explored whether story-based interactive music activities improve play interactions between children with developmental disabilities (DD) and typically developing (TD) children at an integrated daycare center, and whether these activities influence TD children's attitudes towards their DD peers. The participants included six children with DD, aged 3-5 years, and 21 TD peers. They attended 10 sessions, each 30 minutes, twice a week. Play interactions were observed during free play after each session, and TD children's attitudes towards peers with DD were assessed before and after the intervention. The results showed that children with TD and DD in the integrated group showed significantly reduced disengagement, with notable improvements in joint action for TD children and joint attention for DD children. However, there were no significant changes in peer acceptance among TD children in the integrated group while there was a significant decrease in the non-integrated group. This study highlights that story-based interactive music activities effectively enhance interactions between TD and DD children. However, the limited impact on peer acceptance suggests the need for more long-term and systematic interventions, considering the children's developmental levels. The study also emphasizes the importance of tailored approaches that address the individual needs of both TD and DD children, providing valuable insights into the direction of systematic interventions at a time when the importance of social integration is increasingly recognized.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a family resilience program for families of children with ADHD. For this purpose, a preliminary program was developed as a pre-program development stage and its effectiveness was evaluated. To develop a preliminary program, a prior study was reviewed before developing the program, which was carried out. The program was conducted after recruiting seven mothers of children diagnosed with ADHD. It was operated for a total of eight sessions, two times a week, for 120 minutes. A single system design was designed to assess the effectiveness of the developed Family Resilience program. Then, the Family Resilience goals of the individuals set by the research participants were measured. The results of the study showed a slight increase in scores for all participants in the program. By discussing the effects, limitations and suggestions of the developed preliminary program, we hope that a family resilience program for families of children with ADHD will be developed based on this preliminary program research.

  • This study aims to compare and analyze the contents of the ordinance related to disability awareness improvement education enacted by the local government to derive problems and propose improvement measures. To this end, as of December, 2021, a content analysis was conducted on the ordinances of 17 municipal school boards across the country on supporting education to improve disability awareness. As a result of the analysis, the objectives, the responsibilities of the superintendent, and the establishment of the basic plan in the normative system of the ordinance met to some extent the requirements of the ordinance in accordance with the requirements of the ordinance, but in the effective system, the matters concerning the establishment of a board of education, the degree of professional personnel regulation, and the supervision of guidance were insufficient. Accordingly, in this study, based on the results of these studies, we proposed ways to improve the Disability Awareness Improvement Ordinance.

  • Recently, due to the temporary closure and isolation of facilities for developmental disabilities due to the prolonged COVID-19, the pain suffered by consumers is getting worse, and there is no clear solution due to the lack of information on inpatient services. Therefore, there is a need for a service system that can prevent institutional and psychological problems for consumers. The purpose of this study is to provide systematic inpatient treatment guides, post-discharge management, and correct education for children with developmental disabilities and their guardians. After deriving the needs and improvement factors of consumers through domestic service case analysis, we conducted co-creation with end-users using the double diamond methodology. A possible service concept was derived. Accordingly, a collaborative sharing app service was proposed, and the usefulness of the service was confirmed through the usability evaluation and verification of various stakeholders. It is expected that the results of this study will be utilized in the development of an assistance system for the developmental disability ward based on user experience.

  • Objectives : This review examines the extent of harmonization between the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (fourth edition) (DSM-IV) attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and International Classification of Diseases (tenth edition) (ICD-10) hyperkinetic disorder (HKD). Methods : PubMed review of the clinical literatures from 1980 to March 2005 was undertaken using the search term of ADHD, HKD, DSM, ICD, diagnostic criteria, algorithm, and validity. Results : There continues to be a substantial difference in the prevalence of ADHD and HKD. Based on the limited studies that directly compare the most recent two algorithms of ADHD and HKD, several implications for clinical practice and research are discussed. Conclusion : To understand further if the criteria for DSM-IV and ICD-10 for ADHD and HKD are converged or not, more researches on the validity of ADHD and HKD subtypes should be undertaken.

Occupational therapy interventions were self-care (33%), major life area (33%), learning and application (11%), communication (11%), and mobility (11%). Conclusion : This study will help with understanding the current state of occupational therapy interventions for the activity and participation. On the basis of this understanding, various studies on this subject are expected to be conducted in the future.
