  • Vehicle platoons starting a stopline are dispersed while travelling along the street and the delay at the next intersection depends on the arrival pattern of dispersed traffic flow. In this paper, the platoon dispersion charactiristics of our country, especially the time gap between passenger cars and buses caused by the dwell time at bus stops, were investigated through travel time surveys. Based on the survey results, on improved analysis method of intersection delay is proposed.

  • 2차로 도로에서 양보 차로를 설치하면 고속차량이 저속차량을 추월할 수 있는 공 간을 제공하여 도로를 효율적으로 이용할 수 있을 뿐 아니라 안전사고를 감소시키는 데도 큰 효과가 있다. 우리 나라에서는 양보 차로가 설치된 예가 없기 때문에 TWOPAS simulation model을 우리 나라 조건에 맞도록 수정한 TWOPASK1을 이용하여 양보 차로의 운영효과를 평가하였다. 효과 척도로는 현재 도로용량편람 2차로 도로의 서비스수준 평가에 사용되는 차량군 백분율을 이용하였다. 다양한 유효길이, 양보 차로 길이, 교통량 수준의 총 84 조합의 simulation을 분석한 결과 양보 차로가 있는 경우가 양보 차로가 업는 경우보다 차량군 백분율이 감소하였으며 양보 차로 길이가 길수록 차량군 백분율이 많이 감소하였다. 추천되는 양보차로 길이는 양방향 교통량이 400~1,000대/시일 때 800~1,200m, 1,000~2,000대/시일 대 1,200~2,000m가 적정하며, 2,000대/시 이상일 때는 양보 차로의 효과가 적으며, 이 때는 4차로으로의 확장이 요구된다.

  • The purpose of this study is to correct data on 3 intersection ranging from Kwangchun INT. to Nongsung INT. by the means of VTR recording and site survey and to measure the responsiveness of performance index by diversifying the platoon dispersion factor in signal progression simulation. The results are as follows : 1. The value of platoon dispersion factor was 0.28-0.33. The value in up stream is lower than that of in down stream even on the same intersection. 2. The platoon index showed big changes, though performance index didn't according to platoon dispersion factor. Therefore the value of platoon dispersion factor which is inner variable in T7F can be fixed for 0.34. 3. There was only little divergence in performance index changes according to platoon dispersion factor in designing the progression or T7F model.

  • It has been employed TRANSYT-7F and NETSIM to evaluate the validity and effectiveness of improvement on TSM(Transportation Systems Management). But T7F is hard to describe platoon compression and dispersion in actually, and NETSIM takes a long time for network coding, calibration and have difficulty in setting up saturation flow. While Shockwave Model have advantage which can describe platoon compression and dispersion in actually and shorten hours, convenience of application. But Shockwave Model apply unrealistic traffic flow relation ship(U-K curve) and simplify platoon because of difficulty in calculating shockwave's position and cross. For solving limitation of existing shockwave models, It develop new model with 2-regime linear model, New platoon model, Extended shockwave, etc. For verifying the validity of the proposed model, it was compared with delay of T7F and NETSIM by offset variation. In conclusion, it is thought that proposed model have outstanding performance to simulate traffic phenomenon.

Development of no-overtaking Model and Analysis of fundamentals of traffic flow Characteristics on Two-Lane Highways (양방향 2차선 도로의 추월금지 모형개발 및 교통류특성 분석 연구)

  • 본 논문의 목적은 2차선 지방지역도로에서 사용 가능한 No-overtaking Model의 개발과 현장조사를 통한 우리 나라 2차선 도로의 교통류 특성의 규명이었다. No-overtaking Model을 개발하기 위해서는 이미 개발된 바 있는 Slow moving Vehicle Model의 이론적 틀을 근거로 하되 중차량을 따라 피동적으로 주행하는 일련의 차량군에 또 다른 중차량이 포함된 경우에 대해서도 분석이 가능하도록 개선했다. 경기도 일원에서 약 3 개월동안 조사한 현장조사에서 나타난 우리 나라 2차선 도로의 교통류 특성은 첫째로, 2차 선 교통류의 주요 MOE(Measures of Effectiveness)들은 교통량에 의해 비교적 정확하게 산정 가능하다는 것과, 둘째로 우리 나라의 주요 MOE값은 외국의 경우와 비교했을 때 대 체로 유사한 결가를 보이나 평균속도의 경우 최소 5km/h 최대 15km/h 정도와 차이를 나타 낸다는 것, 그리고 셋째로 차량군의 선두차량 85%의 경우 그 속도는 100.4km/h이고 추월 에 필요한 반대편차선 차량과의 여유 거리는 754.8m이라는 것이었다. 향후 연구과제로는 중차량의 속도분포를 확률 분포식으로 나타내는 경우의 지체시간, 추월율 등의 2차선 교통 류 MOE를 산출할 수 있는 Model을 개발하는 것이며 현재 5분 교통량으로 표시된 교통량 을 보다 많은 현장수집 자료를 통해 1시간 단위의 교통량을 기준으로 하여 MOE를 산정해 보는 것이다.

A study on Decision Model of Disuse Status for the Commercial Vehicles Considering the Military Operating Environment

  • The proportion of commercial vehicles currently used by the private sector among the vehicles operated by the military is very high at 58% and plans to increase further in the future. As the proportion of commercial vehicles in the military has increased, it is also an important issue to determine whether to disuse of commercial vehicles. At present, the decision of disuse of commercial vehicles is subjectively judged by vehicle technical inspector using design life and vehicle usage information. However, the difference according to the military operation environment is not reflected and objective judgment criteria are not presented. The purpose of this study is to develop a model to determine the disuse status of commercial vehicles in consideration of military operating environment. The data used in the study were 1,746 commercial vehicles of three types: cars, vans and trucks. Using the information of the operating area, climate characteristic, vehicle condition the decision model of disuse status was constructed using the classification machine learning technique. The proposed decision model of disuse status has an average accuracy of about 97% and can be used in the field. Based on the results of the study, the policy suggestions were proposed in the short and long term to improve the performance of decision model of disuse status of commercial vehicles in the future and to establish a new data construction method within the logistics information system.

Simulation Experiments for Ubiquitous Traffic Flow Management (유비쿼터스 환경에서 최적교통관리를 위한 시뮬레이션 평가)

  • The ubiquitous transportation system environments make it possible to collect each vehicle's position and velocity data and to perform more sophisticated traffic flow management at individual vehicle or platoon level through V2V and V2I communications. The VISSIM simulation experiments were performed to address the issues in developing the preventive congestion management algorithm proposed in the companion paper. Traffic flow stability measures were developed based on the platoon profile, which enables us to explicitly consider traffic flow stability in traffic flow management. Traffic flow management strategies according to the traffic flow states were proposed: Maintain the equilibrium speed for free flow state, maintain the traffic flow stability by platoon control for critical state, and surpress the shock wave propagation for congested state. And finally potential benefit of the proposed traffic flow management scheme was evaluated based on the simulation experiment results. It is considered that extensive field experiments should be performed to confirm the simulated results.
