In this study, the Nature of Science (NOS) instrument for elementary school students in the form of open questionnaires was developed specifically to reveal elementary school students' perceptions of the NOS, and its validity and effectiveness were investigated. To develop a NOS instrument for elementary school students, problems that may occur when applying the existing NOS instruments to elementary school students were analyzed and based on this, the development direction of the NOS instrument was established. In addition, after selecting seven NOS types suitable for the level of elementary school students, the preliminary instrument was produced by modifying and supplementing the items in the existing instruments for each type or by developing new items. Finally, the NOS instrument consisting of eight questions was developed by adding one question asking for a comprehensive understanding of science to seven questions related to each type of NOS after a content validity test of the science education expert group. To verify the practical effect of the developed instrument, pre- and post-tests were conducted on 50 students in two classes of sixth grade at two elementary schools in Seoul: 'existing instrument → development instrument' in one class, and 'development instrument → existing instrument' in the other class. The collected data were then compared and evaluated through summary content analysis and analyzed by executing the Wilcoxon signed-rank test. As a result of comparing and analyzing students' responses to the existing NOS instrument and the developed NOS instrument, students' perspectives on the NOS were more diverse when using the developed instrument, and the level of error in the response caused by misinterpreting the intention of the question was reduced. In addition, when using the developed instrument, the responses of the majority of students at a statistically significant level changed more specifically. In this study, the implications for the development of NOS instruments suitable for elementary school students were discussed based on these results.
This study examines adolescent delinquent behavior and the influence of friends, focusing specifically on friends' delinquent behavior and the influence of self-efficacy, parent-child conflict and parental control. A total of 1,399 adolescents attending five different high schools (male=642, female=756, consisting of 915 student attending high school and 484 students attending vocational high school) completed a questionnaire developed by Ahn, Hwang, Kim and Park (1997) and Bandura's (1995a) self-efficacy scale. Results indicate that those students who attend high school had parents with higher education, socio-economic status and better studying environment at home, while students attending vocational high school had higher parent-child conflict. Students attending high school had higher self-efficacy scores, while students attending vocational high school had higher scores on delinquent behavior. The results of LISREL analyses revealed a similar pattern for high school and vocational high school students. Combined analysis indicate that friends' delinquent behavior, parent-child conflict and parental control had direct and positive effect on students' delinquency behavior. Self-efficacy had a direct and negative influence of delinquency behavior. Similar pattern was obtained for friends' delinquency behavior, in which self-efficacy had a direct and negative influence of their delinquency behavior and their parent-child conflict and parental control had direct and positive effect on their delinquency behavior. In summary, those students who had lower self-efficacy, higher parent-child conflict and parental control, and with friends who are more likely to engage in delinquent behavior, had higher scores on delinquent behavior. Also, those students who had friends with lower self-efficacy scores and with higher parent-child conflict and parental control are more likely to engage in delinquent behavior, which in turn influenced their delinquent behavior. Friends' delinquent behavior had the greatest influence on students' delinquent behavior indicating the role of friends in influencing delinquency among adolescents.

This study, based on the need for department of LIS education program that targets training of subject-special librarian, focuses on proving that such education can improve perception of subject-special librarian and strengthen career decision-making. This study is composed of two parts. First, this study investigates case studies about subject-special librarian cultivation. Second, this study includes a survey about subject-special librarian, improving understanding about subject-special librarian, and improving career decision-making which was carried out targeting students who take 'Medical Terms and MeSH', and 'Health & Medical Information Sources' courses. Results are as follows. First, most of the respondents felt the need for medical librarian and medical information services (88.7%), understood the role of medical librarian (92.5%), got to know more about the types and functions of medical information services (100%), and came to be more aware of the self-esteem a medical librarian feels as a professional. Second, relatively, the percentage of respondents who demonstrated the willingness to work at a medical library (45.3%) or work in the field of medical information services (26.4%) was noticeably low. Third, there were no statistical difference in whether the students took related courses or not, number of courses they took and difference in their school year, and in regard of the level of understanding of medical librarian and medical information services, those who took courses demonstrated higher understanding than did those who did not take those courses. Also, those who took the courses showed stronger willingness to work as a medical librarian. Fourthly, the curriculum carried out by the department of library and information service was effective in understanding medical librarian and medical information services, but makes students more cautious about deciding whether or not to start their career at a medical library. Lastly, it was recommended that there is a need to have the curriculum updated in order to help students overcome the difficulty and unfamiliarity they feel about medical subject.

The purpose of this paper is to find out the needs of housing contents in highschool Home Economics among students. The 105 housing contents and topics were chosen from the 3 textbooks and related references. The number of 516 questionnaire from 8 areas were used to analyze. Analyses indicated that respondents were more likely to favor Home Economics subject and one out of five wanted to select it. Average needs of the housing contents was above middle(3.4) and these was a little difference among 3 middle units in housing. The most needed unit was housing design. There was a more wide difference in 19 small units than in middle ones, ranged $3.00\sim3.91$. Individual contents showed the most variousness in needs from 2.89 to 4.30 in the middle unit of housing and environments, 3.00 to 4.01 in housing design, and 2.68 to 3.91 in housing management. The needs of additional contents were about the same as those textbook contents and it indicated that new textbook needs to adopt the newly demanded housing contents. Some of individual, family, and environmental characteristics were significantly related to the students needs. The higher positive attitude such as favor, interest, and selecting of the subject was related to the higher needs of housing contents. Residential areas and neighboring were also related to most of the needs of individual housing contents.
The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship among child care teachers' personal characteristics, resilience, and social support. The subjects in this study were 154 child care teachers working in Gangwon province. The resilience questionnaire(Jung Hyun Lee, 2013) revised from KRQT-52(Korean Resilience Quotient Test) and the perceived social support scale(Lee Jae-Young, 2012) were used for this study. For the research analysis, frequency, Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ coefficient, and Pearson's correlation were calculated and ANOVA test, Scheff$\acute{e}$ post-hoc analysis, and regression analysis were conducted. The results are as follows. Firstly, it was revealed that child care teachers' experiences, age, marital status, and type of child care center had a statistically meaningful difference in resilience. In contrast, teachers' educational backgrounds did not have a meaningful difference in resilience. Secondly, all the sub-variables of teacher's perceived social support had a positive statistically significant correlation with all sub-variables of their resilience. Thirdly, physical support of child care teachers' perceived social support had statistically meaningful positive influences on the positive characteristics and the overall resilience. Also evaluative support of child care teachers' perceived social support had statistically meaningful positive influences on the interpersonal skills, self-regulation, positive characteristics, and the overall resilience of resilience. In conclusion, the results indicated that it is needed to strengthen child care teachers' perceived social support for enhancing resilience, taking into account the background characteristics of individual teachers.

Dementia is targeted at the elderly and dependent family members, care providers, and the types of problem behaviors of the elderly with dementia by care providers learn how to cope with the relationship was tried for. Dementia in the elderly problem behaviour is the program's descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, and dementia in the elderly problem behaviors for coping with behavior and the relationship between discrete variable using correlation analysis. The findings support the family and nursing experience of senile elderly issues, acting as a provider edge actions appeared the most high, and repeat the same question or request. ', ' Making loud noises or shouting. ' and '. 'Being stubborn, not listening to the words of the caregiver.' etc. In addition, this study, which appeared in dementia in the elderly cope with behavior based on behavioral problems and discuss the ' Verbal discussion ', ' Removal of the cause for incidents ' and ' Restriction of actions ' action causes this correlation. Therefore, caring for the elderly with dementia in a nursing institution and sanction providers related to dementia in the elderly appear to be frequently problem behaviors of the problematic behavior is not much need to be able to cope with the regular education, this study to the development of behavioral problems in dementia patients by an individualized nursing intervention program for caregivers caring for dementia patients, as basic materials will be provided.

This study started with wondering whether the nonproportional model used in unit assessment for 2nd graders is appropriate or not for them. This study aims to explore the applicability of the nonproportional model to 2nd graders when they learn about numbers. To achieve this goal, we analyzed elementary mathematics textbooks, applied two kinds of tests to 2nd graders who have learned three-digit numbers by using the proportional model, and investigated their cognitive characteristics by interview. The results show that using the nonproportional model in the initial stages of 2nd grade can cause some didactical problems. Firstly, the nonproportional models were presented only in unit assessment without any learning activity with them in the 2nd grade textbook. Secondly, the size of each nonproportional model wasn't written on itself when it was presented. Thirdly, it was the most difficult type of nonproportional models that was introduced in the initial stages related to the nonproportional models. Fourthly, 2nd graders tend to have a great difficulty understanding the relationship of nonproportional models and to recognize the nonproportional model on the basis of the concept of place value. Finally, the question about the relationship between nonproportional models sticks to the context of multiplication, without considering the context of addition which is familiar to the students.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the concept concerned with Earth's rotation as passed by tenth graders whose interest in earth's rotation and learning styles were varied. To examine student's interest in the Earth's rotation, 4students (visual-verbal learning style student with much interest, visual learning style student with much interest, visual learning style student with little interest, and verbal learning style student with little interest) were chosen for study. Personal interview was used for this study. To probe students' conception in varied ways, they were allowed to make gesture and draw pictures through data collection process, except for interviews. And the data were analyzed one by one. The result of this study were as follows: First, the student with much interest was faster to answer the questions about Earth's rotation than the one with little interest. Also he comprehended better and was able to explain reasons coherently. Second, there was little difference according to student's learning style. Third, one of the repeated misconception was direction. For thinking that is the right side is the east side, students have misconception that the sun goes from right to left and stars in north sky move clock-wise.

This study was performed in part with the task to find measures to improve the defining characteristics of feelings, value, interest, self-efficacy, and others aspects in regards to learning math among elementary and middle school students. For this study, it was essential to understand the appropriate questions that are needed to be asked during a consultation at a math clinic, for students that are having a hard time learning math. As a method for performing this study, the content of scheduled counseling over 2 years from a math clinic were collected and the questions that were given and taken were analyzed in order to figure out the types of questions needed in order to effectively examine students that are facing difficulty with learning math. The analysis was performed using Grounded theory analysis by Strauss & Corbin(1998) and went through the process of open coding, axial coding, and selective coding. For the paradigm in the categorical analysis stage, 'attitude towards learning math' was set as the casual condition, 'feelings towards learning math' was set as the contextual condition, 'confidence in one's ability to learn math' was set as the phenomenon, 'individual tendencies when learning math' was set as the intervening condition, 'self-management of learning math' was set as the action/interaction strategy, and 'method of learning' was set as the consequence. Through this, the questions that appeared during counseling were linked into categories and subcategories. Through this process, 81 concepts were deducted, which were grouped into 31 categories. I believe that this data can be used as grounded theory for standardization of consultation in clinics.
This study was performed to investigate whether aesthetic preference is related to the personality of an individual or not. Even though prior studies have reported that aesthetic preference for a certain style of art is associated with a personality factor, it is more important to focus on impressions and feelings about paintings than the style of art. The present study tried to examine how positive, negative, and neutral feelings about paintings are related to a personality factor, and that familiarity has an effect on aesthetic preference. After participants answered a Big-Five personality questionnaire, they then rated the preference for and familiarity about paintings which implied emotions. The results showed that individuals with higher scores of neuroticism preferred negative paintings. A preference for negative paintings is hard to explain, but this could be explained by results of this study. A hypothesis that familiar paintings would be more preferred is supported by the data. Aesthetic preference has both objectivity and the subjectivity. This study explained subjectivity through individual differences, and investigate art from a psychological point of view rather than conservative methods that sort paintings into art history.
