Design and Implementation on Frequency Synthesizer Qualification Model Level for SAR payload (위성 레이다용 QM급 주파수합성기 설계 및 제작)

  • In this paper, Qualification Model of frequency synthesizer is designed for X-band SAR system and performed electrical and environment test. Designed frequency synthesizer generate 13.65 GHz with very low phase noise performance. The integrated phase noise from 10Hz to 1MHz is -37.91 dBc. IRF performances are analyzed according to phase noise and jitter. Also, thermal and structure analysis are achieved for stable operation in space environment. Designed frequency synthesizer is consist of 2 modules of 6U size and generate L-band, C-band, Ku-band. The result of this study would enhance the design ability of RF module and help the frequency synthesizer design for SAR payload system.

The Effect of Dynamic Behavior on Changing Pile Cap Size of Pile Group in Sandy Soil (사질토 지반에서 말뚝 캡 크기가 무리말뚝의 동적거동에 미치는 영향)

  • A pile group, that consists of several piles connected by a pile cap, is used as the superstructure. The pile supports vertical and horizontal load to design the pile group, but the effect of bearing capacity of the pile cap has not considered. Various researches have been conducted to reflect the effect of bearing capacity of the pile cap in order to reduce the amount of piles in the range of the stability under the vertical load of the superstructure. However, the effect of bearing capacity under the horizontal seismic load has not been studied adequately. Therefore, a shaking table test was carried out with different-sized pile caps that support the superstructure in this study. This test was to verify the influence of the size of the pile cap in the group pile under the horizontal load. The result shows that the size of the pile cap affects to the dynamic behavior of the superstructure and the pile group. Also, the bigger size of the pile group makes the larger constraint effect of ground, and it results that both the ground and the pile moves as a whole.

  • Recently, the concept of Urban Air Mobility (UAM) has expanded to Advanced Air Mobility (AAM). A tilt rotor type of vertical take-off and landing aircraft has been actively studied and developed. A tilt-rotor aircraft can perform a transition flight between vertical and horizontal flights. A blade pitch angle control system can be used for flight stability during transition flight time. In addition, Individual Blade Control (IBC) can reduce noise and vibration generated in transition flight. This paper proposed Disturbance Observer Based Control (DOBC) and Time Delay Control (TDC) for individual blade control of an Electro-Mechanical Actuator (EMA) based blade pitch angle control system. To compare and analyze proposed controllers, numerical simulations were conducted with DOBC and TDC.

Development of a Numerical Model of Shallow-Water Flow using Cut-cell System (분할격자체계를 이용한 천수흐름 수치모형의 개발)

  • Numerical implementation with a Cartesian cut-cell method is conducted in this study. A Cartesian cut-cell method is an easy and efficient mesh generation methodology for complex geometries. In this method, a background Cartesian grid is employed for most of computational domain and a cut-cell grid is applied for the peculiar grids where the flow characteristics are changed such as solid boundary to enhance the accuracy, applicability and efficiency. Accurate representation of complex geometries can be obtained by using the cut-cell method. The cut-cell grids are constructed with irregular meshes which have various shape and size. Therefore, the finite volume method is applied to numerical discretization on a irregular domain. The HLLC approximate Riemann solver, a Godunov-type finite volume method, is employed to discretize the advection terms in the governing equations. The weighted average flux method applied on the Cartesian cut cell grid for stabilization of the numerical results. To validate the numerical model using the Cartesian cut-cell grids, the model is applied to the rectangular tank problem of which the exact solutions exist. As a comparison of numerical results with the analytical solutions, the numerical scheme well represents flow characteristics such as free surface elevation and velocities in x-and y-directions in a rectangular tank with the Cartesian and cut-cell grids.

New Development of Hybrid Concrete Support Structure with Driven Piles for Offshore Wind Turbines (하이브리드 해상풍력 파일 기초 콘크리트 지지구조(MCF) 개발)

  • This paper proposes a new hybrid support structure by the driven piles which removes disadvantages of the existing type of support structure for offshore wind turbines. The hybrid type of support structure is combined with concrete cone and steel shaft, and is supported not only by gravity type foundations but also by driven piles. For three dimensional analysis of the huge and thick concrete structure, a solid-shell element that is capable of exact modeling and node interpolations of stresses is developed. By applying wave theory of stream function and solid-shell element in XSEA simulation software for fixed offshore wind turbines, a quasi-static analysis and natural frequency analysis of proposed support structure are performed with the environmental condition on Southwest Coast in Korea. In the result, lateral displacement is not exceed allowable displacement and a superiority of dynamic behavior of new hybrid support structure is validated by natural frequency analysis. Consequently, the hybrid support structure presented in this study has a structural stability enough to be applied on real-site condition in Korea. The optimized structures based on the preliminary design concept resulted in an efficient structure, which reasonably reduces fabrication costs.

  • In this paper, it is suggested that the selection method of parameter of Power System Stabilizer(PSS) with robustness in low frequency oscillation for Thyristor Controlled Series Capacitor(TCSC) using Geletic Algorithm(GA). A TCSC meddle consists of a stories capacitor and a parallel path with a thyristor valve and a series inductor. Also in in parallel, as is typical with series capacitor applications, is a metal-oxide varistor(MOV) for overvoltage protection. The proposed PSS parameters are optimized using GA in order to maintain optimal operation of TCSC which is expected to be applied in transmission system to achieve a number of benefits under the various operating conditions. In order to verify the robustness of the proposed method, we considered the dynamic response of angular velocity deviation and terminal voltage deviation under a power fluctuation and rotor angle variation.

  • In magnetic levitation vehicles, the clearance between the magnet and track should be maintained within an allowable range through a feedback control loop. The flexibility of the guideway would introduce additional modes in the overall suspension system, resulting in dynamic interaction between the guideway vibration and the electromagnetic suspension control system. This dynamic interaction can be a serious problem, particularly at very low speeds or standstill, and may cause airgap instability. To optimize the overall system dynamics, an integrated dynamic model including mechanical and electrical parts and a flexible guideway as well as a control loop was developed. With the proposed model, airgap simulations at standstill were performed while varying the control gains, specifically with the aim of understanding the effects of gains of the PID controller on the airgap variation. The findings may be used to achieve a stable levitation controller design.

Development of Three-dimensional Inversion Algorithm of Complex Resistivity Method (복소 전기비저항 3차원 역산 알고리듬 개발)

  • The complex resistivity method is an exploration technique that can obtain various characteristic information of underground media by measuring resistivity and phase in the frequency domain, and its utilization has recently increased. In this paper, a three-dimensional inversion algorithm for the CR data was developed to increase the utilization of this method. The Poisson equation, which can be applied when the electromagnetic coupling effect is ignored, was applied to the modeling, and the inversion algorithm was developed by modifying the existing algorithm by adopting comlex variables. In order to increase the stability of the inversion, a technique was introduced to automatically adjust the Lagrangian multiplier according to the ratio of the error vector and the model update vector. Furthermore, to compensate for the loss of data due to noisy phase data, a two-step inversion method that conducts inversion iterations using only resistivity data in the beginning and both of resistivity and phase data in the second half was developed. As a result of the experiment for the synthetic data, stable inversion results were obtained, and the validity to real data was also confirmed by applying the developed 3D inversion algorithm to the analysis of field data acquired near a hydrothermal mine.

Study of the Long-Term Behavior Characteristics of Roadbed on Concrete Track of High-speed Railway (고속철도 콘크리트 궤도상 토공노반의 장기거동 특성 연구)

  • This study examined the long-term behavior of a roadbed using high-speed railway concrete track and roadbed measurement data and evaluated the long-term performance of the track and roadbed. Recently, high-speed railway track type has been adopted as a concrete slab. On the other hand, the concrete track is vulnerable to roadbed settlement. In the case of gravel tracks, it is easy to restore the original state by maintenance even if the roadbed settles. On the other hand, in the case of the concrete track, if excessive settlement of the roadbed occurs, cracks are generated continuously on the slabs and sleepers, resulting in greatly reduced usability. For this reason, it is difficult to restore the original state only by partial maintenance. In this paper, a long-term performance evaluation was carried out on a concrete track during operation by monitoring the measurement data of sensors buried from the beginning of construction for approximately 3 years after the high-speed railway opened. Performance evaluation methods include a performance evaluation of track/roadbed when the train passes, long-term track and roadbed performance evaluation, analysis of the track/roadbed effect on long-term settlement and analysis of the factors influencing long-term settlement. The trail response of KTX-Sancheon was greatest in the track/roadbed performance evaluation by train. The results of the long-term track and roadbed performance evaluation were measured within the standard values. The track and roadbed performance impact assessment with long-term settlement was strongly related to TCL settlement. The influences of the water content and groundwater level were verified by analyzing the external factors of long-term settlement. Through such a method, the stability of a track/roadbed can be secured.

2,500 L/s 급 복합분자펌프의 특성평가 database 구축 및 표준화 기술 개발

  • 한국표준과학연구원에서는 국제표준화기구에서 제정한 국제규격(ISO, PNEUROP, DIN, JIS, AVS 등)에 기반을 둔 터보분자펌프의 특성평가시스템을 자체적으로 설계/제작 하였고, 터보분자펌프 1,000 L/s 급의 Database를 구축하였다. 이것을 토대로 특성평가시스템의 신뢰성 확인과 Feedback을 통한 시제품 개발 및 평가지원을 위해 터보분자펌프 2,500L/s 급의 Database를 구축한다. 터보분자펌프의 배기성능을 나타내는 가장 중요한 항목인 배기속도는 분자류 영역에 따라 상이한 가스($N_2$, He)를 사용하여 Throughput method와 Orifice method 두 가지 방법을 병행하여 측정한다. 측정함에 있어서 측정게이지, 유량계 및 Orifice conductance의 불확도에 의하여 배기 속도에 많은 측정오차를 포함하고 있다. 측정 오차를 줄이기 위하여 1% 이상의 안정성과 4%의 오차만을 허용하는 자전 회전자게이지(SRG)와 $10^{-3}$ mbar-L/s 영역까지의 유량 주입범위를 가지는 불확도 ${\pm}$3%의 정적형 유량시스템(CVFM)을 사용하였다. Orifice method의 경우 고진공영역으로 진입할수록 커질 수밖에 없는 배기속도 측정 불확도를 최소화하기 위해 검증된 유량을 이용한 Conductance 값을 제시하여 두 방법에서 얻은 배기속도의 불연속적인 문제를 해결한다. 본 연구에서는 2,500 L/s 급 터보분자펌프는 무거운 기체 $N_2$와 가벼운 기체 He을 사용하여 압축비의 변화와 분자류 영역에 따른 배기속도 변화를 연구하고, 2,500 L/s 급 터보분자펌프의 측정능력을 검증한다. 차후에 배기속도뿐만 아니라 소비전력, 소음, 진동, 온도 등의 특성평가의 전반적인 사항을 평가하여 터보분자펌프 2,500 L/s 급의 database를 완비해간다. 터보분자펌프 특성평가시스템을 사용한 1,000 L/s 급과 2,500 L/s 급 특성 Data를 비교, 분석하여 신뢰성 파악 및 표준화 방안을 개발하고, 고진공펌프 개발 주체와의 feedback 지원 기능의 infra를 구축한다.
