The purpose of this research is to analyze a principal's job at a Vocational High School using DACUM Task Analysis Method. The contents of this research are to set the order after deriving the duties and tasks of the principal., then to verify as the importance, difficulty, and frequency of each task, and also to indicate whether it is an essential capability to have in the early stages of one's duty. Finally, based on the job analysis results, a DACUM chart was developed by the principal of the Vocational High School. The DACUM Task Analysis Workshop was attended by one DACUM analyst with LEVEL - 1 license, seven DACUM members with more than four years experience, one secretary and two administrative assistants for a two-day period. The results of the research are as follows; First, the Vocational High School Principal is defined as a school administrator who operate the vocational education curriculum of in the specialized and customized high schools of industrial demand development and the job area. The analysis derived 11 duties and 95 tasks of the Principal. Second, the importance, difficulties, and frequency of each task were divided respectively into high (A), moderate (B), and low (C), and the consensus of the experts was made to determine whether the core capabilities are acquired early on the job. Third, based on the analysis results, a DACUM Task Analysis chart of the Vocational High School principals was presented. In addition, while engaged on the job of the vocational high school principal, a list of 49 general knowledge and abilities, 16 tools, Integrated data and fixtures are required. Along with 28 attitudes 33 future prospects and characteristics of the Vocational High School principal was presented.
The purpose of this study was to provide basic data needed to establish a system of career education which can offer necessary information for middle school students to select vocational high schools suiting to their talent and aptitude. For this, the study formulated research questions: how middle school students in Gyeonggi-do could acquire information related with entering high school; their level of understanding about general high school and vocational high school and their level of information requirement; real state and effect (level of helping them choose future school) of assistance activity for career education as provided by vocational high schools. For the analysis, the study developed a questionnaire and conducted survey for 4,459 3rd graders from 627 middle schools at Gyeonggi-do. Findings were as follows. First, methods of middle school students getting information related with entering high school turned out in the order of internet search (42.0%), consultation with family and friends (25.5%), consultation with teachers (24.0%). While, their methods of getting information related with entering vocational high school turned out in the order of briefing session by vocational high schools (39.4%), field trip to vocational high schools (24.9%), consultation with teachers from vocational high schools (15.7%). Second, the level of understanding (five points full marks) of Gyeonggi-do middle school students about high school by the type they wished to enter, and the level of information requirement (five points full marks) turned out 3.65 and 3.67 respectively for students who wished to enter general high schools, with the difference being 0.02. On the other hand, the level of understanding and that of information requirement turned out 2.92 and 3.25 respectively with the difference being 0.33, for students who wished to enter vocational high schools. Third, looking at the real state of participation of Gyeonggi-do middle school students in assistance activities for career education provided by vocational high schools, 79.4% of all students were participating. Activity with high participation ratio out of these turned out to be in the order of PR and guide book (booklet, brochure, etc.) for vocational high schools at 90.3%, briefing session prepared by vocational high schools on visit at 87.8% and video of vocational high school PR and introduction at 85.9%. The level of how these activities helped middle school students choose their high school was 3.45, showing more effect by 0.13 on students wishing to enter vocational high schools compared to those wishing to enter general high schools.

The purpose of this study was to develop methods to practice and revitalize entrepreneurship education at vocational high schools. To achieve this goal, we analyzed the vocational high school program as well as effective entrepreneurship education programs at vocational high schools. In addition, FGI (Focus Group Interview) was conducted to determine strategies for developing entrepreneurship education at vocational high schools. The results were as follows. First, curriculum formation was found to important for vitalizing entrepreneurship education at vocational high schools. It is necessary to develop vocational high schools to account for the 4th Industrial Revolution as well as develop students' competence in entrepreneurship as the basis for the curriculum. Second, the operational aspect of the entrepreneurship education curriculum must be considered. Entrepreneurship education linked to regular curriculum is needed. Third, the competence of school members is an important factor for the efficient operation of vocational high school entrepreneurship education. Fourth, entrepreneurship education can consist of various educational activities through connection with the school and community. Based on these results, operating vocational high school entrepreneurship education will enable practical and dynamic entrepreneurship education at vocational high schools.
This study is aimed to analyze vocational high school teachers' different perceptions on implementing High School Credit System in relation to their teaching subjects(the vocational high schooland the specialized subjects). The result indicates that the specialized subject teachers perceive the value of the prerequisites for implementation of High School Credit System more strongly than the common subject teachers. Otherwise, the result reveals that no significant difference exists between the common subject teachers' perceptions and the specialized subject teachers' perceptions of the external environment improvement, the operational modes, the characteristics of vocational high schools and the factors related to successful implementation of High School Credit System.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the job performance hours and reasonable job performance hours of teachers working at secondary level technical vocational education institutes. This study analyzed the differences in the job performance hours and reasonable hours that have been investigated according to special subject teachers and general subject teachers. Based on Job Specifications of Teachers Working at Secondary Level Technical Vocational Education Institutes, the development of research tool was finalized, and questionnaires were used as the research tool. The results of this study are as follows. First, the total job performance hours and total reasonable job performance hours perceived by teachers working at secondary level technical vocational education institutes were found to be 2,787.8 minutes and 2,934.7 minutes respectively with a difference of 146.9 minutes. In regards to the job category-specific job performance hours, they were found to be high in the order of lesson administration, extracurricular student guidance, school affairs and administrative duties, and lesson preparation and planning, while the reasonable job performance hours were found to be high in the order of lesson administration, lesson preparation and planning, extracurricular student guidance, and school affairs and administrative duties. As for the job categories with shorter reasonable job performance hours compared to job performance hours, they were found to be lesson administration, extracurricular student guidance, and school affairs and administrative duties. In other job categories, it was found that longer job performance hours are needed. Second, the job performance hours perceived by each subject teacher from other schools, they were found to be 2,888.3 minutes for special subject teachers and 2,536.1 minutes for general subject teachers, while showing 3,021.8 minutes for special subject teachers and 2,716.8 minutes for general subject teachers regarding reasonable job performance hours. The differences between the job performance hours and reasonable job performance hours perceived by teachers from other schools were found to be 133.5 minutes for special subject teachers and 180.7 minutes for general subject teachers.
The purpose of this research was to draw implications for preparing utilizing and management course assessment type of national technical qualification based on the awareness of teachers in industrial secondary vocational high schools. To achieve it, this researcher analyzed the awareness about management course assessment type of national technical qualification of teachers at industrial secondary vocational high schools and analyze possibility to introduce course assessment qualification, degree of agreement for expected effects, and importance and necessity for the matters to be considered when introducing management course assessment qualification. Concrete results of this research are as follows. First, the degree of understanding management course assessment type of national technical qualification at industrial secondary vocational high schools was common, but the degree of agreement for introducing goal, purpose, and necessities was low. Second, for the expected effects to be obtained when acquiring course assessment qualifications, there were acquisition of qualification at the same time of education, suggestion of studying goal from an angle of concrete and significant performance, systematic education based on NCS, possibility to develop and form training career, and possibility to acquire industrial field-centered knowledge and technology in order. Third, to draw priority of each item to be considered when introducing course assessment type of national technical qualification at industrial secondary vocational high schools, the importance and necessities were analyzed. As a result, for the sectors whose requirements are more than average, there were flexibility of course assessment type qualification classes, preparation of proper measure by NCS revision, relief of edited classes of necessity ability unit, etc.
'VEC 2010' is a mid-long term scheme on the development of Vocational Education for Chung-buk which is to be accomplished by 2010. On the basis of this scheme, schools adopt 3-Type curriculum considering their conditions and covert themselves into specialized high school which is associated with local industry cluster. They also establish combined high schools which run various curriculums emphasizing basic vocational abilities so that they can meet the needs of demanders The activation plan of Chung-buk province vocational education is a dualized one which is for both ongoing education for entrance into a school of higher grade and the last education for employment, which is supposed to foster the human resources required by the knowledge-based society in the 21st century. The specific contents of 'VEC 2010' is as follows. First, VEC 2010 presents 2 kinds of mid-long term management system for industrial high schools: general industrial high school, specialized high school(single type, combined type). Second, VEC 2010 arranges and run the 3-Type of curriculum of Chung-buk province industrial high schools: employment-centered type, entering higher school-centered type, inaugurating enterprise-centered type. Third, VEC 2010 divides Chung-buk province industrial high schools into 4 districts and suggests mid-long term reorganization plan of system. The purpose of this study was to develop a theory appropriate to the context by identifying the career motivation formation process from the perspective of academic high school students using a grounded theory approach. In this study, participants were selected among non probability sampling was used for sampling by artificially reputational case selection methods. Forty two highschool students(21 male, 21 female) were participated in this study. Research data were collected mainly collected using in-depth interview data were analyzed by applying the grounded theory method of Strauss and Corbin (1998). According to the results, 319 concepts and 56 sub-categories, and 19 categories were derived n the open coding process. Academic high school students' formation of STEM career motivation were influenced by contextual conditions of "STEM-related career think that the instruments' causal conditions and 'STEM education experience in inside and outside of school' named 'STEM career understanding and self-understanding' using the strategy of being influenced in interventional conditions of social support and obstacle 'for the central phenomenon of "STEM efforts to achieve career goals, it appeared as a result of" satisfaction for STEM careers. And it had a 5-step process over time that the formation process of STEM career motivation. This is expected to provide homes, schools, communities, and contribute to have a new insight on the education of the country, given the direction of career education and counseling intervention and the basic data used to develop and apply STEM career education.
The purposes of this study are to study out competencies of teacher for organizing and operating of NCS based curriculum in vocational high schools, and to analyze the relative importance of the competencies. The results of the study are as follows. Firstly, the competencies of teacher for organizing and operating of NCS based curriculum are composed of the following 4 areas, 11 competencies and 35 sub-competencies. 'Needs and learning environment analysis(area 1)' is composed of 2 competencies of 'analyzing needs', 'analyzing learning environment', and their 7 sub-competencies. 'Curriculum organization(area 2)' is composed of 4 competencies of 'organizing and operating curriculum committee', 'setting educational goals and workforce type', 'analyzing and selecting NCS competency units learning modules', 'developing subjects', and their 10 sub-competencies. 'Curriculum operation(area 3)' is composed of 3 competencies of 'preparing teaching-learning activities', 'implementing teaching-learning activities', 'evaluating teaching-learning activities', and their 15 sub-competencies. 'Curriculum evaluation and feedback(area 4)' is composed of 2 competencies of 'evaluating curriculum', 'giving feedback on the curriculum', and their 3 sub-competencies. Secondly, the relative importance of the competencies is as follows; 'implementing teaching-learning activities' has the highest relative importance of 19.6%, followed by 'evaluating teaching-learning activities'(14.2%), 'evaluating curriculum'(12.5%), 'giving feedback on the curriculum'(11.2%), 'preparing teaching-learning activities'(9.2%), 'developing subjects'(8.6%), 'analyzing and selecting NCS competency units learning modules'(7.5%), 'setting educational goals and workforce type'(6.6%), 'analyzing learning environment'(5.4%), 'analyzing needs'(3.9%), 'organizing and operating curriculum committee'(1.5%).
The purpose of this study is to use as a basic data of establishing operating Course-based National Technical Qualification(CNTQ) support program by examining the educational needs for operating CNTQ of vocational school teachers, and to contribute to the vocational school settlement of CNTQ course. To achieve those purposes, this study drew 27 tasks performed by teachers operating CNTQ. Also, it surveyed the perceived importance and the performance. The findings of this study are as follows. First, it is showed that 'selection of qualification fields and confirmation of organization criteria, organization of educational training time by competency unit, organization of subjects and establishment of competency unit operating plan by grade and semester, selection of teaching materials, implementation of education and training, establishment of evaluation plan, implementation of evaluation, re-education and re-evaluation students with grades under 40%, guidance of paper evaluation, guidance of practical evaluation, guidance of interview evaluation' are the first priority tasks in the result of the need analysis. Second, it is indicated that 'application of external evaluation, guidance to retake an exam for failure' are the secondary priority tasks. According to these results, the following conclusions were made. First, it will be more positive effects if the educational needs in the next CNTQ support program include contents of the first priority tasks. Second, it is indicated that the priority of the educational needs for tasks of operating plan stages is commonly high. In particular, the highest ranking in the result means that it is completely supported from the first step on operating course. It is expected that the program which teachers on operating the course of similar qualification fields share each operating experience is effective. Third, the priority of the educational needs for external evaluation step ranked high. External evaluation has a different level of difficulty and a form of practical evaluation output according to qualification fields, so the method of guidance has to be different. It needs the program constructed by similar fields.
