The Effects of Railway Engineers' Perceived Job Characteristics and Organizational Characteristic on Psychological Depression and Human Errors: Moderating Effects of Perceived Organizational Support (철도기관사의 지각된 직무특성과 조직특성이 직무스트레스와 심리적 우울, 인적오류에 미치는 영향: 조직지원지각의 조절효과)

  • Urban railway engineers' job stress cause fatal evils to both individuals and entire society and brings a significant loss in competitiveness. Thus, this research aimed to examine the factors affecting engineers' job stress and their negative results and seek ways to reduce job stress. This study analyzed the effects of job characteristics(job insecurity, job demand) and organization characteristics(irrational workplace culture) on job stress as well as the effects of job stress on psychological depression and human errors. Also, this study analyzed the moderating effects of organizational support in the relationships between job stress and psychological depression as well as job stress and human errors. A survey was conducted on urban railway engineers and the results were as follows. First, the high level of job insecurity and job demand had a positively effect on job stress while an irrational workplace culture had a positively effect on job stress. Second, job stress had a positively effect on psychological depression and human errors. Third, while job stress and perceived organizational support had a significant interaction effect on psychological depression, there was no significant interaction effect on human errors.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate relations between tele-marketer's job stress on organizational effectiveness in airline. Research finding were firstly, job stress significant negative impacted on job satisfaction and turnover intention. but the job stress didn't effect to tele-marketer's organizational commitment. Secondly, job satisfaction significantly influenced organizational commitment. Finally, job satisfaction and organizational commitment significant negative impacted on turnover intention. Based on the research findings, airline's call center tele-marketer's manager have to examine cause variables of job stress and to suggest effective methods and practice that could manage organization effectively to lessen job stress as much as possible.

  • The purpose of this study is to explore the relationship between job stress and mental health of caretakers by SCL-90-R. This study are to offer basic information for patients the quality of service interventions. The sample for the study consisted of 247 caretakers who work in Busan. The results of this study are as follows: 1) Caretakers' mental health and job stress was not serious level. 2) There was an important factor in job stress, which was suitable pay. 3) Caretakers' job stress was positively related to mental health. There is a statistical correlation between the relationship with mental health and job stress. 4) Caretakers' mental health was affected by job stress level. Therefore, We need training and program that focuses on management job stress in caretakers.

  • In order to verify that the ego-resiliency regulates the effect of nursing care workers job stress on the job satisfaction, this research ascertained the effect of job stress of the nursing care workers working at Seoul-type Day Care Center and confirmed the moderating effect of ego-resiliency on the process where nursing care workers job stress affects the job satisfaction. A survey of 256 employees at 28 Seoul-type Day Care Centers were conducted on job stress, job satisfaction, and ego-resiliency, and 138 nursing care workers were analyzed. The data analysis was conducted using SPSS PROCESS Macro, which was presented by SPSS 25.0 and Hayes. The results of the study are as follows. First, nursing care workers had higher job stress and lower job satisfaction compared to other job groups. Second, job stress identified the negative effect job satisfaction. Third, ego-resiliency confirmed positive moderating effect between job stress and job satisfaction.

Parenting Stress, Job Stress, and Parenting Behaviors in Nurses (간호사의 양육스트레스 및 직무스트레스와 양육 행동)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship of job stress, parenting stress and parenting behaviors in nurses. This research was carried out targeting 201 nurses in total who have preschool children and work at two university hospitals and three general hospitals in D Metropolitan. For the analysis of the research SPSS 17.0 was used for the data analysis. Regression analysis was the statistical method used for data analysis. There were significant negative correlations for parenting behavior and parenting stress in the mothers. Among daily lived stress, parental role stress and job stress significantly influenced parenting behavior. Therefore, daily life stress, job stress and parental role stress had an influence on the parenting behavior. The results of this study show that parenting stress, job stress are powerful factors for understanding parenting behavior. An important implication of this study is that nurses in future should be considered with the parenting stress and job stress.

  • This study was conducted to investigate the relationship between job stress, job crafting, and organizational commitment and the moderating effect of job crafting for members working at social enterprises in Busan. The analysis results are as follows. First, job stress confirmed the negative effect on organizational commitment. Second, it was confirmed that job crafting had a significant effect on organizational commitment in the relationship between job stress and organizational commitment. Based on the results of this study, since job stress of social enterprise workers lowers job commitment, a plan to effectively manage and reduce their stress is required. In addition, job crafting regulates the relationship between job stress and organizational commitment, which means that although members are stressed, job stress has a different negative effect on organizational commitment depending on how much they perceive the meaning and value of their work.

  • Recently, honorary retirement is spreading like a fashion among teachers. This was due to rapid environmental changes and stress. Therefore, in this study, we examined the relationship between teachers' stress and job exhaustion. The study was conducted for middle school teachers in Changwon city. The results of this study were as follows: First, job stress of middle school teachers affected emotional exhaustion. Second, job stress of middle school teachers had an effect on impersonation. Finally, job stress of secondary teachers did not affect the reduced individual achievement. The results of this study suggest that job stress of middle school teachers is closely related to job exhaustion. Therefore, it is urgent to improve the administrative simplification based on the analysis of the teacher 's stress factors and the immersion into the class.

A Comparative Study on Job Stress and Job Satisfaction of Long-Term Care Staffs for Physically Disabled Seniors with Rating 1 and for Demented Seniors with Rating 3 (노인장기요양보험에서 1등급 노인과 3등급 치매노인을 케어하는 요양보호사의 직무스트레스와 직무만족에 관한 비교연구)

  • This study aimed to compare job stress and job satisfaction of long-term care staffs caring for demented seniors with rating 3 and physically disabled seniors with rating 1. Survey was conducted upon 212 long-term care staffs in long-term care institutions in Ejungboo, Goyang, and Paju. There were, first of all, statistically significant differences between those groups in the level of overall stress, stress related to service subjects, and stress in service procedures. Regression analyses, secondly, showed that the relationship between job stress and job satisfaction was statistically significant only for long-term care staffs for demented seniors with rating 3. The results suggest that it is necessary to lower the level of stress especially for the staffs caring for demented seniors with rating 3. Furthermore, we need to consider the stress, that the staffs feels in the process of caring for long-term care service beneficiaries, as a important variable for intervention programs to reduce the level of stress among long-term care staffs.

  • The purpose of the present study was to provide fundamental information to improve job satisfaction of rehabilitation-counselors and the service in sheltered workshop. The researcher conducted the nationwide survey of rehabilitation-counselors in sheltered workshop. The results of this study were summarized as follows. First, job stress of rehabilitationcounselors in sheltered workshop was in low level, but job satisfaction was relatively in high level. The factor of conflict in their role and over-roaded role reached serious level. And the promotion and salary of a job made their job satisfaction lower. Second, there was significant correlation between job stress and their career. Third, job satisfaction according to general characteristics of rehabilitation-counselors differed from their age. Fourth, there was significant correlation between job stress and job satisfaction. It showed that the higher job stress, the lower job satisfaction. Therefore, policy improvement was needed to enhance job satisfaction. In addition, continuous research and individual efforts were needed to lower the level of job stress for rehabilitation counselors in sheltered workshop.

Differences in quality of sleep, job stress, fatigue, job satisfaction, and posttraumatic stress disorder according to the type of work in fire-fighting officers (소방공무원의 근무형태에 따른 수면의 질, 직무스트레스, 피로도, 직무만족 및 외상 후 스트레스장애 차이)

  • Purpose: The purpose of the study was to investigate the differences in quality of sleep, job stress, fatigue, job satisfaction, and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) according to the type of work in fire-fighting officers. Methods: This study used an online questionnaire. The participants were 322 fire-fighting officers. The data were collected from May 2 to 20, 2018. Data were analyzed using SPSS 22.0. Results: According to the work styles of fire fighting officers, job stress, job satisfaction, and PTSD showed significant differences. However, There were no differences in sleep quality and fatigue. There were significant differences in job stress, job satisfaction, and PTSD in those in roles of fire suppression and rescue emergency medical technicians and this result suggests a way to improve the quality of sleep, job stress, job satisfaction and fatigue for fire-fighting officers who suffer from PTSD. Conclusion: Based on the results of this study, mental health of fire-fighting officers will be improved through basic data for psychotherapy which can overcome the quality of sleep, job stress, fatigue, job satisfaction and PTSD according to the work style of fire-fighting officers.
