The purpose of this study was to examine what affected the job satisfaction of dental hygienists in J local community in a bid to help boost their job performance. The subjects in this study were 156 dental hygienists who worked in north Jeolla province. A survey was conducted from July 24 through September 24, 2006, and the collected data were analyzed with SPSS Ver. 12.0 program. The findings of the study were as follows: 1. The dental hygienists investigated got a mean of 2.84 in job satisfaction out of possible five points, which was not a high score. By factor, they were most satisfied with relationship with colleagues(3.21), followed by the future prospects of the occupation(3.10), autonomy(3.07), environments(2.99) and pay(2.55). They found workload most dissatisfactory(2.03). 2. Concerning connections between their general characteristics and job satisfaction, their age had a significant impact on their satisfaction with autonomy(p < 0.001), and their marital status exerted a significant influence on their satisfaction with autonomy(p < 0.001) and pay(p < 0.05). The married dental hygienists were more pleased with those factors than the unmarried ones. Their service area made a significant difference to their satisfaction with the prospects of the occupation and relationship with colleagues(p < 0.001), as those from university hospitals were more contented with those factors. Their educational level affected significantly their satisfaction with autonomy(p < 0.001), workload(p < 0.05) and environments(p < 0.05). The better educated dental hygienists were pleased.
The present study purposed to survey dental hygiene students who will play important roles in guidance and to utilize the data as basic information for setting the direction of dental hygienists' efficient guidance for antismoking and developing antismoking education programs. For this purpose, a survey was conducted with 400 students at the Department of Dental Hygiene in Daejeon, Jollabuk-do and Jollanam-do during the period from May 19 to June 14 in 2008, and drew conclusions as follows: As to correlations among self-efficacy, smoking knowledge, and perception on guidance for antismoking, positive correlation was observed between self-efficacy and smoking knowledge (r=0.102), between self-efficacy and perception on guidance for antismoking (r=0.272), and between smoking knowledge and perception on guidance for antismoking (r=0.352). As to factors affecting perception on guidance for antismoking, the effect was high in order of perception on smoking, smoking knowledge, and self-efficacy. That is, perception on guidance for antismoking was more positive in those who thought that smoking must not be allowed, those with high smoking knowledge, and those with high self-efficacy. For dental hygienists' clinical activities for efficient prevention of smoking and guidance for antismoking, it is necessary to develop curriculums containing various practical contents.
Purpose: This study was undertaken to update the Nutrition Quotient for Elderly (NQ-E), which reflects dietary quality and behavior among Korean older adults. Methods: The first 29 items of the measurable food behavior checklist were obtained from a previous NQ-E checklist, recent literature reviews, and national nutrition policies and recommendations. One-hundred subjects (50 men and 50 women) aged ≥ 65 years living in the Seoul Metropolitan Area, including Gyeonggi Province, completed a pilot survey from March to April 2021. Based on the results of the pilot study, we conducted factor analysis and frequency analysis to determine whether the items of the survey were properly organized and whether the distribution of answers for each evaluation item was properly distributed. As a result, we reduced the number of items on the food behavior checklist and used 23 items for the national survey. Nationwide, 1,000 subjects (472 men and 528 women) aged > 65 years, completed the checklist survey, which was applied using a face-to-face survey method from May to August 2021. The construct validity of the NQ-E 2021 was assessed using confirmatory factor analysis, LISREL. Results: Seventeen food behavior checklist items were selected for the final NQ-E 2021. Checklist items addressed three factors: balance (8 items), moderation (2 items), and practice (7 items). Standardized path coefficients were used as the weights of items to determine nutrition quotients. NQ-E and three-factor scores were calculated according to the weights of questionnaire items. Conclusion: The updated NQ-E 2021 produced by structural equation modelling provides a suitable tool for assessing the dietary quality and behavior of Korean older adults.

Recently, many university classes have been changing from instructor-centered classes to learner-centered classes, and universities are trying to establish a new direction for university education, especially to foster talented people suitable for the Fourth Industrial Revolution. To this end, universities are presenting various competencies necessary for students and focusing on research on efficient education plans for each competency. Among them, creativity is considered the most important competency that students should obtain in universities. Developing a creative problem-solving-based subject where various majors gather to produce results while conducting creative team activities away from desk classes is considered a meaningful subject to cultivate capacities suitable for the requirements of the times. Therefore, this study purpose to develop creative problem-solving-based subjects and analyze the results of class progress. This creative problem-solving-based class is an Action Learning class for step-by-step idea development, which starts with a theoretical lecture for creative idea development and then consists of five stages of Action Learning. The tasks of action learning used in this class consisted of ceramic expression to increase the intimacy of the formed group and the group's collective expression, ideas in life to combine and compress individual ideas into one, environmental improvement programs around schools, and finally UCC on various topics. In the theoretical lecture conducted throughout the class, a class was conducted on Scientific Thinking for creative problem solving, and then a group-type action learning class was conducted sequentially. This Action Learnin process gradually increased the difficulty level and led to in-depth learning by increasing the level of difficulty step by step.
This paper analyzed the qualitative evaluation indicators of the SYSTEM sector of the LINC program, which aimed at strengthening ability of regional universities through the activities of industry-academia cooperation (IAC). By using interview data and the program reports of universities, this research explored the problems of the indicators and suggested improvement measures which could lead to performance creativity. According to research results, in university system reform for activating IAC, some improvements are required as follows: limiting excessive expansion of IAC-friendly faculty evaluation; and evaluating soft aspects in the reform of academic affairs. In relation to strengthening of ability of the IAC organization, the indicators need to be amended as follows: enhancing the role of channel of IAC Foundation; strengthening the function of planning team of the IAC Foundation; and inducing development of own model of universities for IAC. As regards expansion of IAC infrastructure, it is necessary to enlarge the manpower who can develop programs of the support center in the foundation and to secure of operators for effective operation of joint-using equipments. Therefore, the indicators are required to be upgraded, considering these improvement direction.

This study was implemented to amass and analyze the data from 500 Seoul district beauty shop workers, which came from the use of the SPSS18.0. The statistical analysis was conducted through frequency for demographic characteristics, validity for factors analysis by using Varimax rotation, and reliability for Cronbach's alpha coefficient.. Also, the analysis was once again analyzed through the Pearson correlation coefficient, where our hypothesis was proven through regression analysis. Our research results have shown that, first, job satisfaction and job performance differed over matters like gender, age, education level, employment conditions, job category, overall work experience, daily work hours, and monthly income. Second, job satisfaction was shown to have a significant influence on job performance, where higher job satisfaction levels led to higher job performance. Thus, job satisfaction was a great factor to increase job performance by fulfilling their needs level. Also, they would act more positive and future-oriented when they have special needs like motivate achievement, wage, promotion, and reward. Therefore, managerial staff should continually develop any programs in order to upgrade beautician's job performance through their job satisfaction.
This study was conducted to examine the influence of the experience of childcare teachers about oral health education on oral health knowledge. Questionnaires to be self-filled up on the experience of oral health education were applied to 267 childcare teachers who are working in a nursery schools in Kyoungnam province. The data were analysed using the SPSS 12.0 program. The obtained result were as follows: The oral health knowledge was higher in the case with oral health education than without it. A public health center would provide the highest oral health knowledge to nursery teachers. The educations about peridontal disease, oral health effect of fluorine and Xylitol were the most demanding among the some items. When the education topics are related with peridontal disease and Xylitol, the most respondents are willing to participate in the education course. The high correlation (r=0.874) was shown in the necessity of the education and the necessity of attending the course. Also there was a low correlation (r=0.345) between the knowledge items of peridontal disease and the participation in the oral health education. The relationship of oral health knowledge with experience and recognizance of oral health education appeared. Therefore systematic and regular program for the oral health education would be required.
Objectives: This study identified the labor union associates' perception and participation status on SHEW and analyzed these two Constructs correlations with Safety and health education at work(SHEW) in manufacture and construction industries. Methods: Self-administered survey was successfully finished by 103 labor union associates (91 employed in 78 manufacturing companies and 12 employed in 12 constructing companies over 12 areas). Two questionnaires, survey direction slip, the official letter to ask survey participation from Korea Ministry of Labor, and a posted envelop to return were delivered to each workplace labor union office in conveniently selected companies. Most participants' companies were at least medium to large in manufacturing industry and most associates were men and married. A survey questionnaire examined demographic characteristics, SHEW status (participation status included), and perceptions of SHEW. Results: Overall, manufacturing companies had better infrastructures for SHEW, employer support for SHEW, and current educators' competencies than constructing companies. These infrastructures for SHEW were closely correlated with company labor union participation on SHEW and the correlation coefficients were greater than any other expectations or needs variables for SHEW. Conclusions: The primary strategies for better participation and support from labor union need to be developed in supporting for organizational infrastructures related to SHEW and strengthening safety and health education training programs for supervisors or educators at work.

The purpose of this study was to measure the serum lipid concentrations by gender and age, and to investigate the relationship between dietary behavior and serum lipid levels in Korean adults. The subjects consisted of 209 volunteers (121 men and 88 women) who visited a health promotion center. Their anthropometric and biochemical blood indices were measured, and data on lifestyles were obtained using structured questionnaires. The blood total cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol, and triglyceride concentrations increased significantly with age in women (p<0.01). The food habit score of men and women increased with age, and total food habit score was negatively correlated with BMI (p<0.05). The rate of skipping meals (p<0.001), overeating (p<0.05), eating instant food (p<0.001), and eating out (p<0.05) decreased significantly with age, and the intake rate of vegetables (p<0.001) and carbohydrates (p<0.05) significantly increased with it. The food intake frequency of 21 food items was also measured, and snacks (p<0.05), high fat foods (p<0.01) meats (p<0.05), and instant foods (p<0.01) were negatively correlated with HDL-cholesterol. Snacks (p<0.05) and high fat foods (p<0.01) were positively correlated with LDL-cholesterol. Snacks (p<0.05) and fats/oils (p<0.01) were positively correlated with triglycerides. These results suggest that the food habits and food intake frequency may be one of the important factors affecting serum lipid concentrations in Korean adults.
Purpose: This study was conducted to investigate perception of good death among the community-dwelling elderly and identify factors related to the perception. Methods: A questionnaire survey was carried out using a convenient sampling method (N=317). Data were analyzed by applying descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe's test, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression. Results: Participants scored an average of 3.35 on a 4-point scale for the perception level of good death. They scored higher on the factor of personal control that other factors affecting the perception. Good death was positively correlated with family support (r=0.252). Family support (${\beta}$=0.287) and gender (${\beta}$=0.197) significantly influenced the elderly's perception of good death. These variables accounted for 10.2% of the total variance. Conclusion: The results show that family support is an important factor for the perception of good death among the elderly. Therefore, family support should be carefully considered to ensure good death for more senior citizens. Our findings can be utilized to support programs such as death education for the elderly.
