Design of V2I Based Vehicle Identification number In a VANET Environment (VANET 환경에서 차대번호를 활용한 V2I기반의 통신 프로토콜 설계)

  • With the development of IT Info-Communications technology, the vehicle with a combination of wireless-communication technology has resulted in significant research into the convergence of the component of existing traffic with information, electronics and communication technology. Intelligent Vehicle Communication is a Machine-to-Machine (M2M) concept of the Vehicle-to-Vehicle. The Vehicle-to-Infrastructure communication consists of safety and the ease of transportation. Security technologies must precede the effective Intelligent Vehicle Communication Structure, unlike the existing internet environment, where high-speed vehicle communication is with the security threats of a wireless communication environment and can receive unusual vehicle messages. In this paper, the Vehicle Identification number between the V2I and the secure message communication protocol was proposed using hash functions and a time stamp, and the validity of the vehicle was assessed. The proposed system was the performance evaluation section compared to the conventional technique at a rate VPKI aspect showed an approximate 44% reduction. The safety, including authentication, confidentiality, and privacy threats, were analyzed.

  • In this paper, we investigated performance for 5.8GHz Dedicated Short Range Communication(DSRC) packet communication system which will be applied to domestic Intelligent Transportation System(ITS) services and analyzed modulation technique and interference cancellation method to improve performance in physical layer. We presented the most suitable DSRC uplink protocol to apply to multiple access protocol for DSRC system. Finally, we presented channel model to estimate performance between Roadside Unit(RSU) and Onborad Unit(OBE), and showed their validity through the result of numerical analysis.

  • A recent spread of personal mobility devices such as electric kickboards has brought about a rapid increase in accident cases. Such vehicles are susceptible to falling accidents due to their low dynamic stability and lack of outer protection chassis. This paper presents the development of an automatic emergency braking system and a safe starting system as driving assistance devices for electric kickboards. The braking system employed artificial intelligence to detect nearby threaening objects. The starting system was developed to disable powder to the motor until when the driver's boarding is confirmed. This study is meaningful in that it proposes the convergence technology of advanced driver assistance systems specialized for personal mobility devices.

  • Vehicular communication is one of representative convergence technology which combines information technology and vehicle industry. Wireless Access in Vehicular Environments (WAVE) technology is vehicular communication standard which is widely used in the world. In this paper, we introduce service realization of WAVE based vehicular communication systems in the practical testbed. We review the overall WAVE based systems in brief and introduce the testbed. Then, we investigate various applications using vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) and vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) communications. Based on realization of systems, we discuss practical implementation issues and the convergence area of WAVE systems.

  • The C-ITS requires the lane level positioning of the vehicle in the land transportation environment, and it is most effective to utilize the GNSS. In the precision positioning system based on satellite navigation, the evaluation of dynamic environment of lane level positioning performance should be accompanied and the evaluation system configuration should be preceded. In this paper, we selected performance indicators, assessment equipment, and reliability of reference equipment for evaluation of precision positioning user systems based on the GNSS. The performance evaluation system described above is applied to a real system, and the performance evaluation tool developed for the evaluation system is described. The numerical performance evaluation was carried out based on the data collected by carrying out the actual testbed driving. The performance evaluation by the actual driving trajectory and driving image comparison was performed to derive and analyse the evaluation results of the vehicle lane level positioning user system.

  • According to dramatic increase of wireless communication demand, more spectrum resources are needed to support considerable and various wireless services, so cognitive radio(CR) was proposed to reuse unused frequency efficiently. Also, FCC revises its policies regarding the usage of the TV white spaces by unlicensed users. CR is an intelligent wireless communication system that is aware of the radio environment and is capable of adapting its operation to the statistical variations. Spectrum sensing is the key task of the CR systems. However, since spectrum sensing performance changes according to the received signal that is received various geography environment, regional characteristics are considered to estimate the path-loss. Therefore, for more accurate analysis and simulation, we demonstrate the spectrum sensing performance of CR system by various method applying Okumura-hata propagation model.

  • Research and development projects in railroad domain are different from those in other domains in terms of their close relationship with laws. Some cases are reported that new technologies from R&D projects could not be industrialized because of relevant laws restricting them. This problem comes from the fact that researchers don't know exactly what laws can affect the result of R&D projects. To deal with this problem, we suggest a model for law retrieval system that can be used by researchers of railroad R&D projects to find related legislation. Input of this system is a research plan describing the main contents of projects. After laws related to the R&D project is provided with their rankings, which are assigned by scores we developed. A ranking of a law means its order of priority to be checked. By using this system, researchers can search the laws that may affect R&D projects throughout all the stages of project cycle. So, using our system model, researchers can get a list of laws to be considered before the project they participate ends. As a result, they can adjust their project direction by checking the law list, avoiding their elaborate projects being useless.

  • Recently, cooperative intelligent transport systems (C-ITS) testbeds have been deployed in great numbers, and advanced autonomous driving research using V2X communication technology has been conducted actively worldwide. In particular, the broadcasting services in their beginning days, giving warning messages, basic safety messages, traffic information, etc., gradually developed into advanced network services, such as platooning, remote driving, and sensor sharing, that need to perform real-time. In addition, technologies improving these advanced network services' throughput and latency are being developed on many fronts to support these services. Notably, this research analyzed the network latency requirements of the advanced network services to develop a remote driving service for the droid type low-speed robot based on the 3GPP C-V2X communication technology. Subsequently, this remote driving service's performance was evaluated using system modeling (that included the operator behavior) and simulation. This evaluation showed that a respective core and access network latency of less than 30 ms was required to meet more than 90 % of the remote driving service's performance requirements under the given test conditions.

  • The global intelligent transport systems (ITS) market is experiencing rapid growth, and domestic ITS companies' efforts to extend its business abroad are steadily increasing. However, due to the burden of costs associated with the overseas expansion and the lack of strategy for local market, domestic companies' contracts for global businesses are far short of the technology. Although the government is actively promoting Korean enterprises' participation to overseas business, it has obvious limits due to the lack of its specialized strategy. This study established a customized export model for the countries in which Korean companies want to enter, and developed a strategy to advance into the local market.

  • In order to understand and manage traffic flows in urban areas in the past, a variety of traffic engineering theoretical indicators such as intersection lag and highway speed have been applied. However, these theories and indicators have been developed under the constraints of traffic engineering research before the construction of intelligent transportation system. Since the ATIS system currently exists, it is necessary to introduce a separate traffic engineering technology that utilizes the data. In this paper, it is aimed to confirm whether it is applicable to intermittent flow (approach road, intersection, control group, main road axis) by using 'congestion intensity' which is already used in traffic engineering field. The results of this study are as follows: (1) The traffic signal improvement effect of urban road access road, intersection road, control group, Two verification studies were performed to verify the derived congestion intensity index. (1) verification of congestion intensity threshold value analysis and (2) crossing improvement using the congestion intensity. Through verification, it was confirmed that it is possible to apply the congestion intensity in the inter - city intermittent flow using the 5 - minute unit speed data so as to be able to escape from the existing traffic signal operation management which is past passive and manpower limit.
