이번 호부터는 실험용동물과 관련해서 원생동물부터 포유류까지 광범위하게 다루고자 한다. 특히 동물뷴류법과 관련하여 그 분류에 있어서 표현이 쉽지 않아 한자어와 영어를 병용해서 기재하고자 한다. 특히, 이번호에서는 사료 외에 이료(먹이)라는 말이 등장한다. 영어에서는 둘다 feed, diet ration이지만, 일반적으로 사료라고 하는 경우에는 feed, 그리고 나머지 둘은 1일 즉,하루 분이라는 양적 개념이 포함되어 있다. 어패류에게 주는 먹거리를 전부 먹이라 하였지만, 배합사료의 보급과 함께 자연계에 존재하는 것을 먹이(천연먹이)라 하였다. 「사료의 안전성의 확보 및 품질의 개선에 관한 법률」에서는 「가축 등의 영양소 제공을 목적으로 사용 하는 것」을 사료라고 정의 하고 있다. 일반적으로 2종류 이상의 것이 인위적으로 혼합된 것을 사료라고 한다. 어류의 양식에 사용되는 정어리나 까나리(냉동품도 포함)는 생미끼, 종묘 생산에 이용되는 담륜층이나 Artemia salina등과 같은 플랑크톤은 생물먹이라고 하고 있다. 사료나 먹이를 최근에는 급이라고 한다.

인류가 흡연을 시작하면서 담배는 보편적인 사람들의 기호식품으로 이용되기도 했으나, 보건학적으로 인간의 건강을 위협하는 가장 위협적인 존재로 인식되고 있다. 흡연자의 담배연기에 비흡연자가 무저항적으로 노출되는 간접흡연의 문제는 생활수준의 향상과 생활활동 양식의 변화, 건강에 대한 관심의 증대로 현대인들에게 매우 중요한 문제가 되고 있다. 환경중 담배연기(Environmental Tobacco Smoke; ETS)는 흡연자의 입, 비강에서 품어내는 주류연(mainstream smoke)과 담배가 자연 연소되면서 발생하는 부류연(sidestream smoke)이 환경공기 중에 확산된 상태의 담배연기를 일컫는 용어로 실내공기의 주요오염원이다. 가상 해저환경에 존재하는 군중 캐릭터 움직임을 수작업에 의존하는 기존의 애니메이션 제작 방법으로 제작할 경우 많은 시간과 비용이 필요하기 때문에 이를 자동화하여 보다 효율적이고 쉽게 제공하기 위해 장면의 사실성, 시스템의 성능 그리고 사용자와의 상호작용성을 적용하여 자연스러운 해저환경을 표현하고 군중 행동 장면을 생성을 위해서 자동화 기법이 개발되어야 한다. 본 논문에서는 군중 행동 시뮬레이터를 개발하여 해저환경속에서 사실적이고 효율적인 객체 표현을 위해 3D 객체에 군중행동양식을 부여하고, 상호작용이 가능하도록 다수의 Fish 군중행동 시뮬레이터를 설계한다.

The paper describes the activation mode and the glycosic linkage of anti-complementary polysaccharide isolated from Cinnamomum cassia. The polysaccharide fractions, CC-IIIa, CC-IIIb, and CC-IIIc, activated C3 component existed in normal human serum and produced C3 cleavage segments, C3a and C3b. The polysaccharide, CC-2-IIIa-3 activated the complement system both in the presence and absence of $Ca^{++}$, suggesting that it involved in both classical and alternative complement pathways. Methylation of CC-2-IIIa-3 was performed with methylsulphinyl carbanion and methyl iodide in DMSO. The methylated products was hydrolyzed, then converted into the partially methylated alditol acetates. Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC-MS) revealed derivatives of terminal $Glc{\rho}$ and $Gal{\rho}$, 1,2-linked $Rha{\rho}$, 1,6-linked $Man{\rho}$, 1,3-linked $Glc{\rho}$, 1,6-linked $Gal{\rho}$ etc.

${\alpha},{\beta}$-Dichlorosuccinic acid was synthesized through the reaction of maleic anhydride with $Cl_2$(g) and ultra violet(200~300nm) wavelength in the presence of $CCl_4$. The second reaction of N-(${\alpha},{\beta}$-dichloro)succinic acid contained glucosamine derivatives(I) was accomplished by a modification of the general acylation using excess ${\alpha},{\beta}$-dichlorosuccinic anhydride in the presence of 2% acetic acid with methanol as a solvent at elevated temperature($70^{\circ}C$). We considered organic acid derivatives were useful especially of treatment for the cultivating porphyra and skin beauty culture.

The mode of inheritance of resistance to fenvalerate in the diamondback moth (Plutella xylostella L.) was studied using insecticide susceptibility and mixed function oxidase tests. Tehre were no differences in the concentration-mortality relationships between $F_1$ progenies $(S_{female}\timesR_{male},\;R_{female}\timesS_{male})$ obtained from reciprocal crosses with the susceptible and fenvalerate-selected strains(R), indicating the absence of sex-linked inheritance. Degree of dominance of the $F_1$ progenies $(S_{female}\timesR_{male},\;R_{female}\timesS_{male})$ were -0.50 and -0.46, respectively, in the insecticide susceptibility test and -0.85 and -0.81, respectively, in the mixed function oxidase test. These results suggest that inheritance of fenvalerate resistance is controlled by and incompletely recessive autosomal gene.

Ultrastructure of the zona radiata and the micropyle of ripe eggs in the rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss), catfish (Silurus asotus) and loach (Misgurnus anguillicaudatus) were examined by light, scanning and transmission microscopes. The egg micropyle of rainbow trout and catfish consists of a funnel-shaped vestibule and a tapered canal transversing the zona radiata. The micropyle of rainbow trout and catfish showed the similar structure with flat pit and long canal. The micropylar wall showed the clockwise spiral structure in rainbow trout. The micropyle of the loach showed the type with a hollow pit leading into a short canal and the micropylar wall showed the counterclockwise spiral structure. There are numerous and various size pores at the surface area around the opening in every experimented fish. Interconnecting ridges were observed in the unfertilized eggs of every fish.

Effects of intraperitoneal administration of LHRH-a (luteinizing hormone releasing hormone analogue), pimozide and HCG (human chorionic gonadortropin) were studied on ovulation in the bullhead, Pseudobagrus. fulvidraco. Ovulatin was induced in 71.4, 80 and 100% by injection of HCG 5,000, 10,000 and 20,000 IU/kg of body weight, respectively. Also, the majority of fish injected with LHRH-a in the presence or absence of pimozide were ovulated. The ovulating rates in fish injected with LHRH-a alone showed 50, 75 and 100% at a dose 200, 300 and $400^{\mu}$g/kg, respectively. Pimozide enhanced the activity of LHRH-a at $300^{\mu}$g/kg plus pimozide at 1 mg/kg. Pimozide alone was ineffective in inducing ovulation of P. fulvidraco. There were no significant differences in gonadosomatic index (GSI) and pseudo-GSI values among the groups treated with HCG, LHRH-a and LHRH-a plus pimozide (P>0.05). The latency time groups treated with HCG was 17~22 hours, and the group injected with LHRH-a alone and/or in combination with pimozide was ovulated within 23~29 hours.

Rhynchocypris oxycephalus was incised through the midlateral line between the dorsal and pectoral fins and the wounds were closed with absorbable synthetic suture, and here we describe histological details on the nature of second-intention wound healing, rate of healing, and the nature of granulation tissue contraction. Postoperative survivals were 95% and 99%, compared to 100% for counterpart control fish, among fish at just and 7 days after surgery, respectively. By 14~42 days after surgery, fish had no mortality. The granulation tissue was epithelialized from day 7 through day 22 postsurgery. By 28 days postsurgery, the granulation tissue had contracted the wound margins into apposition. By 35~42 days postsurgery, the granulatin tissue contained collagen fiber and the epidermis contained well-differentiated alarm substance cells ; thus, the epidermis over the wound site was histologically normal in most fish, showed that wound healing was essentially complete within 35 days of surgery.
