Relation Between Damage of Unreinforced Masonry Walls and Their Natural Frequency (비보강 조적벽체의 손상정도와 고유진동저하율에 관한 실험적연구)

  • The objective of this study is to evaluate residual seismic capacity of Unreinforced Masonry(URM) walls which were damaged by earthquake through the measurement of frequency. Three URM walls which made the shape ratio(1/h, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0)to be a variable were tested for the objective. It was seen that the natural frequency decreased with growing at rotation angle. Also, this study found out that residual seismic capacity and natural frequency of URM walls is correlative.

  • The objectives of this study is to find out the relationship of crack width and residual seismic capacity of Unreinforced Masonry(URM) walls which were damaged by earthquake. Three URM walls which made the shape ratio(1/h, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0)to be a variable were tested for the objective. It was seen that the crack width increased with growing at rotation angle. Also, this study found out that failure mode affects crack type of URM. In other words, horizontal and vertical crack was increased in rocking and sliding failure mode respectively.

  • The purpose of this study is suggesting a basic data for which scientific preservation and rehabilitation of future modern architecture through the analyzing property of clay brick used in modern architecture in a scientific way.The clay brick which is used in the early 1900s has even lower property than present clay brick because of poor plasticity technique at that time. It could be possible to property and effective stability examination of modern architecture from nondestructive testing is significantly associated with property.

  • 우리 나라의 주거 건물의 많은 부분을 차지하는 조적조 건물은 저층이므로 내진 설계에 대한 지침이 마련되어 있지 않다. 그러나 조적조 건물의 경우 저층이라 하더라도 구조특성상 수평하중에 대한 저항능력이 매우 약하므로 내진 설계에 대한 기준이 요구된다. 일반적으로 내진설계 시 동적 해석을 수행하면 많은 시간이 소모되므로 실무자들에게 등가정적해석법을 제시하여 내진설계 시 편의를 제공하고 있다. 그러나 저층 조적조 건물은 일반적인 건물과는 거동 특성이 다르므로 저층 조적조 건물에 적용할 수 있는 해석법을 제시하고자 한다. 본 논문에서는 개구부의 비율에 따른 조적벽의 연성도, 강도 및 고유주기를 구하여 반응수정계수와 고유주기를 비교하여 우리 나라의 조적조 건물에 적합한 반응수정계수와 고유주기 산정식을 제안하였다.

  • 콘크리트 블록에는 속빈 콘크리트 블록, 치장 콘크리트 블록, 형틀 콘크리트 블록, 콘크리트 적층 블록 등이 있고, 콘크리트 적층 블록을 제외하면 모두 건축용으로 널리 쓰이는 재료이다. (1) 속빈 콘크리트 블록 속빈 콘크리트 블록이란 보강근을 삽입하는 속빈 부분을 갖고, 블록 벽체로 외력을 부담하는 것을 말한다. 속빈 콘크리트 블록은 건물의 경량화와 시공 기간의 단축이 가능하기 때문에 (그림 1)과 같이 벽체용으로 사용되거나 또는 칸막이용 등으로 많이 사용되는 대표적인 조적재이다 (2) 치장 콘크리트 블록 치장 콘크리트 블록은 철근으로 보강할 수 있는 공동이 있고, 미리 표면에 연마, 절삭, 씻어 내기, 쪼아 내기. 스플릿, 슬럼프, 리브붙임 등의 치장 마무리가 되어 있는 블록을 말한다. 도장 또는 착색만에 의한 치장 블록은 포함하지 않고 있다. 치장 블록은 주로 (그림 2)와 같이 담장에 많이 사용되고 있다. (3) 형틀 콘크리트 블록 형틀 콘크리트 블록은 형틀 콘크리트 블록조에 사용되는 것을 형틀 콘크리트 블록조란 형틀 블록을 조합하여 형틀로 하고, 그 중공부에 철근을 배치하고 콘크리트를 타설하여 내력벽을 형성하는 건축구조를 말한다. 형틀 블록을 조적한 후 외부에 나타나는 면에는 스플릿, 연마, 절삭, 씻어 내기, 쪼아 내기 등의 치장을 하기도 한다.(중략)

  • A series of unreinforced masonry (URM) walls were analytically investigated for a limited version of seismic in-plane performance. For this URM walls were assumed to be an elastic continuum and modeled as isotropic plane stress elements within which the nature of cracking was propagated. Accordingly, cracking mode of behavior in URM was modeled by smeared-crack approach. Total of 70 cases were considered for various parameters such as axial load ratio, aspect ratio and effective section area ratio due to the existence of opening, etc. The analysis results indicated a general tendency in base shear coefficient and deformability of URM walls for these variables.

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest basic data which is firing technique at manufacturing time for preservation and rehabilitation of masonry modern architecture by assumed firing-temperature. It could be possible to estimate firing-temperature at manufacturing time through the result of the experiments, XRD and changed absorbing ratio from re-firing.

  • Masonry-infilled walls have been used in reinforced concrete(RC) frame structures as interior and exterior partition walls. Since these walls are considered as nonstructural elements, they were only considered as additional mass. However, infill walls tend to interact with the structure's overall strength, rigidity, and energy dissipation. Infill walls have been analyzed by finite element method or transposed as equivalent strut model. The equivalent strut model is a typical method to evaluate masonry-infilled structure to avoid the burden of complex finite element model. This study compares different strut models to identify their properties and applicability with regard to the characteristics of the structure and various material models.

A study on out-of-plane strengthening of masonry-infilled wall (조적채움벽의 면외보강에 관한 연구)

  • Fiber-reinforced polymer reinforcement or polyurea reinforcement techniques are applied to strengthen unreinforced masonry walls (UMWs). The out-of-plane reinforcing effect of sprayed glass fiber-reinforced polyurea (GFRPU), which is a composite elastomer made of polyurea and milled glass fibers on UMW, is experimentally verified. The out-of-plane strengths and ductile behaviors based on various coating shapes are compared in this study. An empirical formula to describe the degree of reinforcement on the out-of-plane strength of the UMW is derived based on the experimental results. It is reported that the peak load-carrying capacity, ductility, and energy absorption capacity gradually improve with an increase in the strengthening degree or area. Compared with the existing masonry wall reinforcement method, the GFRPU technique is a construction method that can help improve the safety performance along with ease of construction and economic efficiency.

Rocking Behavior of Unreinforced Masonry Walls Under Cyclic Load (주기하중을 받는 비보강 조적벽체의 강체회전거동)

  • This study investigated the rocking behavior of unreinforced masonry walls and wall piers under cyclic loading. Based on the benchmark tests, the characteristics of load-deformation relations in masonry walls with rocking failure were captured, focusing on observed deformation modes. The rocking strengths of masonry walls (i.e., peak and residual strengths) were evaluated, and the effects of opening configurations on the masonry wall strength were examined. The deformation capacity of the rocking behavior and the hysteresis shape of the load-deformation relations were also identified. Based on the results, modeling approaches for the rocking behavior of masonry walls were discussed.
