A Study on the Effectiveness of Remanufacturing Technology for the Diesel Oxidation Catalyst(DOC) Deactivated by Diesel Exhaust Gas (경유차 매연저감장치에 의해 비활성화된 DOC촉매의 재제조 효과에 관한 연구)

  • The deactivated diesel oxidation catalyst(DOC) was remanufactured by ultrasonic wave treatment with various solutions, followed by active component re-impregnation. The catalytic performance and surface properties of remanufactured DOC were studied at various remanufacturing conditions. The proper ultrasonic-wave cleaning time at various solutions and optimal re-impregnation amounts of active component for the best catalytic performance were investigated. The catalytic performance tests on the conversions of CO and THC(total hydrocarbon) were also carried out at various temperatures by catalytic reaction test unit using bypass gas from the diesel engine dynamo system. It was found that the catalytic performance of DOC remanufactured with the high-temperature air washing, ultrasonic wave cleaning at acidic/basic solutions and active component re-impregnation method was recovered to 90% level of its activity compared to that of the fresh DOC, which was caused by removing the deactivating materials from the surface of the DOC through the analyses of catalyst performance test and their characterization by Optical microscope, EDX, ICP, TGA, and porosimeter.

  • 주요 선진국에서는 전통적 생산요소인 노동이나 자본에 비하여 기술 진보가 경제성장에 더 큰 기여를 하고 있다고 판단하고, 기술개발을 위한 R&D 투자를 적극적으로 추진하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 IT부문 R&D 투자액이 IT부문 수출 실적에 미치는 효과를 분석하는 한편, 회귀분석 결과를 활용하여 2020년 우리나라 정부가 목표로 하고 있는 수출 1조 달러 달성을 위하여 IT 부문에서 어느 정도의 R&D 투자가 이루어져야 하는 지를 분석한다.

  • 임상시험 guideline은 신약개발을 촉진하기 위하여 약사법 제 26조 제 6항 및 제 24조 제 8호의 규정에 의거하여 신약 임상시험의 안내서로 활용하게 하는데 있다. 임상시험은 특정약의 특정 질환에 대한 임상효과를 판정하기 위하여 시험약의 효과 및 부작용을 윤리적으로 타당한 과학적 시험을 통하여 시행하는 것이다. 특히 임상시험은 사람을 대상으로 하기 때문에 윤리적이고 과학적인 방법을 통하여 시행착오를 최소화하고, 피험자가 위험에 처할 가능성을 최소화하여야 한다.

On Comparison of Theoretical Formulars for Estimation of Highway Noise Barriers Effect (고속도로에서 방음벽 효과 예측을 위한 이론식이 비교)

  • 본 논문에서는 고속 도로 주변에서 교통 소음 대책으로 사용되는 방음벽 효과에 대해 교통 소음 모델에 의한 예측값과 실측값을 비교하였다. 도로 교통 소음로서는 일본 음향 학회 모델, 국립 환경원 모델, 조한인 모델을 대상으로 하였다. 세가지 모델의 예측값과 실측값의 비교 결과, 갓길(노견)에서는 일본 음향 학회 모델과 국립 환경원 모델에 의한 예측값이 실측값과 $\pm$3.5dB(A) 차이로 비슷한 결과를 보였으며, 소음 측정 지점이 음원과 먼 경우는 속도가 빠를수록 일본 음향 학회 모델은 예측값과 실측값의 차이가 커졌다. 조한인 모델은 시가지 도로에서는 잘 맞지만 고속 도로에 적용하기에는 적합하지 않았다.

  • The effect of water quality improvement of combined sewage by detention pond has been studied. It is convinced that the pollutant load and peak flow through the combined sewer by first rainfall and runoff can be decreased by detention pond sited at the outlet of small basin. Hydraulic modeling of detention panel was performed for two cases of sedimentation pond and gravel contact pond. It has been recognized that it is more efficient to reduce the pollutant of combined sewage when the combined sewage is released alter a fixed detention time in the detention pond than it is released continuously without detention time. The gravel contact detention pond shows higher pollutant removal rate than the sedimentation detention pond in all pollutants. When it comes to gravel contact detention pond, the gravel pond filled with crushed gravel has a higher pollutant removal rate than that filled with river gravel.

Local Economy and Local Universities: Focusing on the Job Creation (지역경제와 지역대학: 일자리 창출을 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between local economy and local universities focusing on the job creation. The study estimates the impacts of industry-university cooperation expenditure in 2018 on the Korean industry using the 2014 input-output table released by the Bank of Korea in 2016. The results show that the effect of production inducement was 30.2 trillion Won which reached 1.5 times of the total industry-university cooperation expenditure 19.6 trillion Won. The effect of labor inducement was estimated to employ 35 thousand people. With respect to the effects of inter-industries, the professional, scientific and technical activities, information and communication, and education sectors showed much higher effect of both production and labor inducement in the Korean industry. Therefore, the industry-university cooperation expenditure in Korea has to be focused on those industries in order to increase job creation effects from industry-university cooperation.

  • In this study, the effect of surface roughness distribution and its influence on the inflight icing code was investigated. Previous numerical studies focused on the magnitude of surface roughness, and the effects were only addressed in terms of changes in thermal boundary layers with fully turbulent assumption. In addition, the empirical formula was used to take account the turbulent transition due to surface roughness, which was regarded as reducing the accuracy of ice shape prediction. Therefore, in this study, the turbulent transition model based on the two-equation turbulence model was applied to consider the effects of surface roughness. In order to consider the effect of surface roughness, the transport equation for roughness amplification parameter was applied, and the surface roughness distribution model was implemented to consider the physical properties. For validation, the surface roughness, convective heat transfer coefficient, and ice shape were compared with experimental results and other numerical methodology. As a result, it was confirmed that the excessive prediction of the heat transfer coefficient at the leading edge and the ice horn shape at the bottom of the airfoil were improved accordingly.

Analysis of Fish Blocking Effect using Illuminance Difference (조도 차이를 이용한 어류 차단 효과 분석)

  • Fish respond sensitively to light, so it is possible to develop fish management technology using this feature. In this study, we developed a light-based fish barrier and analyzed itsblocking effect using the difference in illuminance for the major fish species in Korea, bass and bluegill. The light was generated by a light emitting diode and the facility was installed vertically from the bottom. Considering the fish's ability to travel upstream, the flow rate was divided into three stages (0.2, 0.1, and 0.05 m/s). To prevent the learning effect, an experiment was carried out with fish that had rested for more than one day in a rearing tank. The experiment was carried out in such a way as tocompare the number of fish which travelled upstream after the introductionof the fish barrier and that of the fish which travelled upstream after itsremoval. It was also carried out after sunset to increase the effectiveness of the barrier. According to the results of the experiment, the fish blocking effect depending on the difference in illuminance was high and, overall, the blocking rate for bass was lower than that for bluegill. Based on the total size of the experimental population, the blocking rates for bass and bluegill were 96.33% and 99.00%, respectively. Based on the number of fish that travelled upstream, the blocking rates for bass and bluegill were 91.73% and 98.73%, respectively.

Evaluation of the Lateral Ultimate Strength of Steel Moment Resisting Frames under Axial and lateral Forces (수평력과 축력을 받는 강골조의 최대수평내력 평가)

  • When the lateral forces are applied to a frame, columns in the frame are usually accompanied with sidesway. If this sidesway is large, the frame is subjected to buckling and an early yielding of members which reduces the overall frame stiffness. In this study, numerical analysis of frames were conducted to evaluate the ultimate lateral strength of steel moment resisting frames permitted to sidesway under axial and lateral forces, and develope the procedure for determining the limits of column slenderness ratios. In the numerical analysis, the effects of the relative stiffness ratio between beam and column, deterioration of overall frame stiffness, slenderness ratio and loading conditions were considered. The elasto-plastic analysis method in which the $P-{\Delta}$effect is implemented, presented by the author previously, was adopted in the analysis. Incremental lateral forces were applied to the frame under constant axial loads and the generalized inverse is employed for the post-ultimate behavior.

  • The effects of braking of trains and roughness of rails on the dynamic behavior of bridges are studied. The train-bridge interaction is considered by solving Lagrange's equation of motions. Newmark's direct integration is used to solve the governing equations. Dynamic train loads acting on piers at each time step are evaluated, and the wheel-rail roughness effect is considered by using the PSD curve of the rail. The model of braking forces in bridge section is based on the change of deceleration mentioned in ASTM(American Society for Testing and Materials) E503-82. Only skidding frictions without considering rolling frictions are modeled, and the friction coefficient of 0.25 is assumed. Parametric studies in a simply supported PC Box girder bridge are carried out to verify the present method and to analyze the effects of train speed, wheel-rail roughness, braking forces on dynamic train loads.
