It suggests the direction of education that forms a Christian self-identity based on the problems of identity crisis that may arise due to the problem of de-realization while accepting the situation of the metaverse that has emerged due to the digital revolution. Research content and method: Focusing on the discussion of metaverse and de-realization, this paper suggests the importance of Christian self-identity and the direction of education. For this purpose, four tasks of practical theology were carried out based on Richard Osmer's consensus model. As the desciptive-empirical task was carried out, the opportunities and risks of the metaverse were brought up. Through the interpretive task, the problem of metaverse and de-realization was presented. The normative task emphasized the importance of Christian self-identity, and the pragmatic task proposed an education oriented towards Christian self-identity. Conclusions and Suggestions: It is important for education in the metaverse era to form a sense of Christian self-identity. The purpose of education is the formation of Christian's self-identity, and the content is to build the Christian relationality self, equality self, and openness self. The teaching method is interactive teaching, and the teacher and learner can be presented as an encounter between interpreters. The environment is any area of interpreted life, and evaluation can manifest itself in Christian life as disciples and citizens. The suggestion is to suggest compedency education methods for acquiring Christian self-identity while considering various generations.

  • Nursing problems of 48 hospitalized patients with Conduct Disorder at a Child-Adolescent psychiatry inpatient were analyzed by reviewing nursing records. The results showed that the problems such as ineffective individual coping, impaired social interaction, disturbance in self-concept, potential for violence, alteration in parenting, altered growth and development were continued from early to later phase of the hospitalization and the other problems such as self-care deficit, anxiety, sleep disturbance, altered nutrition, hyperthermia were temporary. The etiologic factors related to these problems were underdeveloped ego, low self-esteem, dysfunctional parent-child relationship, some situational crises in family and handicap like mental retardation or epilepsy. Therefore nursing approach for the patients with Conduct Disorder should focus on ego growth and improvement of interpersonal relationship through systematic and long-term nursing plans and interventions for these patients and their family.

  • Gender role identity is a key subject toward adaptation in later life. In this paper, we tried to understand the specific types and characteristics of gender role identity in view of older men. The research collected and examined 40 representative descriptions representing gender role identity, including 20 for masculinity and 20 for femininity from 40 older men. We obtained four types of gender role identity of older men from this research. "Powerful-expressive type" is energetic and reveals his brave and dominant tendency when they are working. "Powerful-taciturn type" is strongly independent and has a firm conviction, but they do not express those characters and remain silent. "Powerful-paternal type" handles his work with a driving force, and has a tender character. "Paternal-caring type" finds his own worth in life by caring for his family and children, and considers others more than himself. Future research is needed to verify how the types of gender role identity are linked to psychosocial adaptive aspects, health behaviors, mental and physical health.

  • Purpose: The aim of this study was to determine the related factors for psychological crises in Korean middle aged adults. Methods: RISS, KISS, National Assembly Digital Library, CINAHL, and PubMed were searched for relevant articles published until October 3, 2016. Finally, a total of 23 studies were included. Meta-analysis of the studies was conducted using Comprehensive Meta-Analysis 3.0 software to calculate the effect size. Results: The related variables of psychological crisis were categorized into 23 variables and 5 factor groups. The effects size (ES) of the overall defensive variables was -0.28. In the defensive factors, the psychological factor (ES=-0.67), followed by cognitive and behavioral factor (ES=-0.34), physical factor (ES=-0.31), and social relational factor (ES=-0.29) had the greatest effect on psychological crises. The effects size of the overall risk variables was 0.48. In the risk factors, the physical factor (ES=0.61) had the greatest effect on psychological crises, followed by the psychological factor (ES=0.53), and cognitive and behavioral factor (ES=0.10). Conclusion: An intervention program is needed to strengthen the defensive factors and reduce the risk factors for psychological crises of Korean middle aged adults.

  • This study is to explore how the bondage of street homeless is made and what it implies. In order to do so, this study does participation-observation for the life of the homeless on the street and drop-in-center according to the ethno-graphic research tradition. Starting from the August of 2005, during the period of six months, we did a field study on the actual conditions of facilities for the homeless in the major parts in Seoul and collected the interview data through the interview-in-depth with 8 homeless people. Following the data-analysis procedures of Spradley(1979), we identified the main domains related to the factors for the bonding of street homeless. These domains show us how the homeless people who were left in the whole new world of homelessness just manage to tide over the crisis of identity and survival. The bondage of street homeless in the situation of street homelessness has been shown to have these following meanings: (1) the cultural significance as their second home, (2) the meaning of an alternative group to be admitted, (3) the maintenance of self-identity by way of distinction in the group. According to these, the self-identity of homeless is dual and, therefore, the meaning and interpretation of their relationship is also dual. This dualistic attitude comes from the process in which the homeless acquire the alliance-resource for the very survival and self-existence. The results of this study confirm that the homeless suffer from the lack of true relationship as well as resources. This study suggests that the supporting policies and services for the street homeless should be achieved qualitatively and integrated under a long range plan.

  • The important developmental tasks of young adults are based on encounter and identity. These problems of encounter and identity are also connected to the instinct of longing for the "face" of primary caregivers, who acknowledge and affirm themselves as their cherished children. James Loder emphasizes that human "face pursuit instinct" later reaches "formal-operational stage" and leads to religious yearning for God as "the Eternal Face." This pursuit of "face" and "the Eternal Face" is an existential and ontological move to find out "Who am I?" through meaningful encounters. Religious psychologist Carl Jung also points out that scientific thinking has contributed to the liberation of humans from superstitious beliefs. But this has also led to the loss of the precious value of human spirit and the sense of unity with nature. Jung emphasizes that "symbolic play" should help learners and counseler face-to-face with their unconscious mind. By doing so, learners can overcome the wounds and scars of unconsciousness and mature toward the true self. James Loder is a scholar who critically introduced Jung's "unconscientious confrontation" therapy to his educational theory. Beyond Jung's unconsciousness and "symbolic play," Loder proposed transformational education for the learners to participate in meaningful changes through interaction between human spirit and the Holy Spirit. With many young adults wandering around in their existential voids, it is clear that functional and socializational education cannot overcome their problems and developmental crisis. This developmental crisis requires a foundation of identity and intimacy in the encounter with God, the "Eternal Face." Therefore, this study suggests that when Jung's "unconscious confrontation" and Loder's "transformation logic" are employed, transformational Christian education for the healthy self-identity and intimacy of young adults can be accomplished. This inquiry presents not only theoretical reflection, but also the reactions of young adults and actual feedback obtained through implementing transformational Christian education for young adults. Through all of these endeavors, this inquiry was completed by proving that "Transformational Christian Education for Young Adults" is an educational theory that can yield actual results and abound fruits. (This enquiry was undertaken by the support of the research fund of PUTS 2020.)
