Analysis of Frictional Contact Problems of Nonlinearly Deformable Bodies by Using Contact Error Vector (접촉 오차 벡터를 이용한 비선형 변형체의 마찰접촉 해석)

  • Numerical solution lot frictional contact problems of nonlinearly deformable bodies having large deformation is presented. The contact conditions on the possible contact points are expressed by using the contact error vector, and the iterative scheme is used to reduce the contact error vector monotonically toward zero. At each iteration the solution consists of two steps : The first step is to revise the contact force by using the contact error vector given by the previous geometry, and the second step is to compute the displacement and the contact error vector by solving the equilibrium equation with the contact force given at the first step. Convergence of the iterative scheme to the correct solution is analyzed, and the numerical simulations we performed with a rigid-plastic membrane and a nonlinear elastic beam.

Human Touching Behavior Recognition based on Neural Network in the Touch Detector using Force Sensors (힘 센서를 이용한 접촉감지부에서 신경망기반 인간의 접촉행동 인식)

  • Of the possible interactions between human and robot, touch is an important means of providing human beings with emotional relief. However, most previous studies have focused on interactions based on voice and images. In this paper. a method of recognizing human touching behaviors is proposed for developing a robot that can naturally interact with humans through touch. In this method, the recognition process is divided into pre-process and recognition Phases. In the Pre-Process Phase, recognizable characteristics are calculated from the data generated by the touch detector which was fabricated using force sensors. The force sensor used an FSR (force sensing register). The recognition phase classifies human touching behaviors using a multi-layer perceptron which is a neural network model. Experimental data was generated by six men employing three types of human touching behaviors including 'hitting', 'stroking' and 'tickling'. As the experimental result of a recognizer being generated for each user and being evaluated as cross-validation, the average recognition rate was 82.9% while the result of a single recognizer for all users showed a 74.5% average recognition rate.

Segmentation-free Approach to the Recognition of Two Touching Numerals (두자 접촉 숫자열의 분할-자유 인식)

  • 숫자열 인식은 문서 자동화 분야에서 매우 중요하다. 기존의 방법들은 숫자열을 낱자 단위로 분할하는 단계와 분할된 숫자들을 인식하는 두 단계로 이루어져 있다. 이들 방법으로는 접촉 유형의 많은 변형 때문에 만족할 만한 결과를 얻을 수 없다. 본 논문은 두자 접촉 숫자열을 분할-자유 방법으로 인식하는 방법을 제안한다. 이 방법은 두자 접촉 숫자열을 하나의 패턴으로 간주하여 인식한다. 즉, 인식 대상이 되는 부류가 100개(00, 01, 02, ... , 98, 99)이다. 훈련 데이터는 NIST 데이터베이스에의 낱자 단위 숫자들을 조합하여 합성하였고, 테스트 데이터는 NIST의 숫자열 필드에서 두자 접촉한 숫자열 만을 추출하여 사용하였다.

A Study of the Acculturation Meaning among Chinese-Chosun Residential Care Attendants in Long-Term Care Setting (조선족 간병인의 문화적응 경험에 관한 연구: 노인 간병서비스를 제공하는 조선족 여성을 중심으로)

  • The present study describes the acculturation meaning of 12 Chinese-Chosun residential care attendants(RCAs) who are currently working in long-term care settings for Korean older adults. Using a qualitative research method, the findings show that the acculturation process of Chinese-Chosun RCAs consists of three stages: entrance, conflict, and adaptation. In the initial stage, the assets of the social and cultural networks among their friends and relatives, who already settled down or employed as RCAs, provided more opportunities for being employed as a RCA. However, most Chinese-Chosun RCAs experienced a number of conflicts while they adapted to mainstream society and perform caregiving tasks. They perceived discrimination, heavy workload, prejudice, and homesick. Nevertheless, they appeared to adapt effectively to Korean society and working environments because they were aware of the various benefits of working as a RCA such as higher wage and more job openings compared to other jobs, a rapport with the patients and patients' families, flexible work hours, and pride as a caregiver. This type of qualitative groundwork will be an important precursor to the design, implementation, and evaluation of acculturation research for minority immigrant workers in the Korean social welfare system.

Design of Contact Scheduling System(CSS) for Customer Retention (고객유지를 위한 접촉스케줄링시스템의 설계)

  • Customer retention is one of the major issues in life insurance industry, in which competition is increasingly fierce. There are many things for the life insurers to do many things to retain the customers. One of those things is to make sure to keep in touch with all customers. When an insurance-planner resigned, his/her customers must be taken care of by some planner-assistants. This article outlines the design of Contact Scheduling System (CSS) that supports planner-assistants for contacting the customers. Planner-assistants are unable to share the resigned insurance-planner's experience and knowledge regarding the customer relationship management. The CSS developed by employing both Classification And Regression Tree (CART) technique and Sequential Pattern Mining (SPM) technique has a two-stage process. In the first stage, it segments the customers into eight groups by CART model. Then it generates contact scheduling information consisting of contact-purpose, contact-interval and contact-channel, according to the segment's typical contact pattern. Contact-purpose is derived by schedule-driven, event-driven, or business-rule-driven. Schedule-driven contact is determined by SPM model. In the operation of CSS in a realistic situation, it shows a practicality in supporting planner-assistants to keep in touch with the customers efficiently and effectively.

Segmentation-free Recognition of Touching Numeral Pairs (두자 접촉 숫자열의 분할 자유 인식)

  • Recognition of numeral fields is a very important task for many document automation applications. Conventional methods are based on the two-steps process, segmentation of touching numerals and recognition of the individual numerals. However, due to a large variation of touching types this approach has not produced a robust result. In this paper, we present a new segmentation-free method for recognizing the two touching numerals. In this approach, two touching numerals are regarded as a single pattern coming from 100 classes ('00', '01', '02', ..., '98', '99'). For the test set, we manually extract two touching numerals from the data set of NIST numeral fields. Due to the limitation of conventional neural network in case of large-set classification, we use a modular neural network and Drove its superiority through recognition experimen.

  • 현재까지도 대부분의 필기체 한글 인식은 완벽한 분할을 가정하여 개발되고 있으며 한글 분할 그 자체에 대한 관심은 매우 낮은 편이다. 또한 한글은 자소의 모아쓰기 형태를 갖고 있어 문자내에 여백이 존재할 뿐만 아니라 문자와 문자 사이의 접촉되는 특징이 흔히 발생되기 때문에 기존의 영문자에 사용된 방법을 그대로 직접 적용하기에는 많은 어려움이 있다. 본 논문에서는 무제약 필기체 한글을 분할하기 위하여 가상 분할경로를 이용하는 방법을 제안한다. 제안된 방법은 기존의 분할 방법들이 갖는 직선화된 분할경로 뿐만 아니라 문자내에 존재하는 여백의 정보를 활용하여 꺽은선 분할경로를 주로 이용하는데 특징이 있다. 분할과정은 크게 2단계로 구성되는데 첫 번째 단계는 입력받은 한글 문자열에 대한 전처리 과정과 수직투영을 통해 직선화된 분할경로를 찾고 이에 따라 쉽게 분할 가능한 문자와 중첩되거나 접촉된 문자를 구분하여 다음 단계의 분할대상으로 결정한다. 두 번째 단계에서는 다양한 가상의 꺽은선 분할경로를 생성하기 위하여 각 문자에서 특징점을 추출하고, 인접한 특징점들 간의 무게 중심점을 찾아서 더 세밀한 경로 생성을 함으로서 가장 최상의 분할경로를 결정한다.

A Study on the Variation of Electric Contact Resistance Due to Change in Contact Force in a Tin-plated Connector (주석 도금한 커넥터의 접촉 하중의 변화에 의한 전기 접촉저항 변화에 관한 연구)

  • In order to investigate the effect of contact load, which is one of the fretting corrosion factors affecting the electric connector, a coupled fretting corrosion specimens were prepared using a tin-plated brass coupon with a thickness of $3{\mu}m$. Electric resistance of the contact was measured during the fretting corrosion test period. There was increase in resistance with fretting cycles. The change in resistance can be classified by 3 stages. The first stage exhibited low and stable resistance. Second stage showed steady increment of the resistance and third stage showed very high and intermittent resistance. The relationship between the failure cycle (Nf) and contact force (P) can be drawn as; It is possible to draw the prediction equation for the failure cycle of the electric connector corresponding to the very high and intermittent resistance under various environment conditions through the fretting tests under various conditions such as load, displacement, temperature.

An Efficient Contact Detection Algorithm for Contact Problems with the Boundary Element Method (경계요소법을 이용한 접촉해석의 효율적인 접촉면 검출기법)

  • This paper presents an efficient contact detection algorithm for the plane elastostatic contact problem of the boundary element method(BEM). The data structures of the boundary element method are dissected to develop an efficient contact detection algorithm. This algorithm is consists of three parts as global searching, local searching and contact relation setting to reflect the corner node problem. Contact master and slave type elements are used in global searching step and quad-tree is selected as the spatial decomposition method in local searching step. To set up contact relation equations, global contact searching is conducted at node level and local searching is performed at element level. To verify the efficiency of the proposed contact detection algorithm of BEM, numerical example is presented.
