A Comparative Analysis of the Fixed Location Production vs. Flow Production: An Example of Deckhouse Preceding Outfit Process (고정 위치 생산과 흐름생산의 비교 분석 : 데크하우스 선행의장 공정의 사례)

  • By using simulation, fixed location production method and flow production method have been compared to improve the productivity of deckhouse preceding outfitting process. In this paper, we analyze that the suggested flow production system instead of fixed location production can improve productivity. In current preceding outfit production system which adopts fixed location production, where a block occupies an area and does not move until the work finishes. On the other hand, in improved flow production system, the block moves instead of workers and equipment. Though the output of two systems are almost the same when we did not consider the moving time and waiting time of blocks, the flow production will be better when the variability of task time will be reduced.

  • 건물영향을 고려한 DEM기반 Dual-Drainage 도시침수해석모형은 배수시스템 해석 모형인 SWMM모형과 도시침수해석 모형인 DEM 기반 침수해석모형(이창희 등, 2006b)을 통합하고, 두 모형간의 유량의 전송과정을 수리학적 관계를 고려한 Dual-Drainage 도시침수해석모형(이창희 등, 2006c)에서 건물의 영향을 고려할 수 있도록 개발된 모형이다. 수치지도로부터 대상유역의 건물 데이터를 추출할 경우 이들 건물들은 매우 복잡하게 배치되어 있으므로 건물 모두를 다 고려하는 격자를 구성하는 것은 어려운 일이다. 그러므로, 건물들이 셀 내에 차지하는 비율을 구하여 침수지역 해석에 이용되었다. 본 모형을 통해 건물에 의한 점유면적 및 흐름의 방해 등으로 인하여 침수심 및 침수범위의 변화를 고려할 수 있으며, 건물 영향으로 인한 침수해석을 통해 침수유량의 도달 시간 및 시간별 침수범위를 보다 정확히 예측할 수 있다. 홍수 기간동안 지표침수유량 및 시간별 배수과정을 분석하여 범람수심 및 범람지역을 주요 시간대별로 계산하였고, 실측치인 침수흔적도와 비교함으로써 모형의 적용성을 검증하였다. 본 연구에서 개발된 침수해석 모형을 이용하여 최고침수위와 최고침수범위를 비교적 단시간에 효율적으로 계산함으로써 홍수피해와 투자액을 감안한 경제적인 배수시설의 결정을 위한 기본자료로 활용될 수 있으며, 국가 중요 시설물의 입지 선정, 주민의 보호 및 이동 등을 포함한 홍수피해의 판단자료로 이용될 수 있다.

Traffic-Aware TXOP adjusting Algorithm for IEEE 802.11e Network (IEEE 802.11e에서 전송흐름을 고려한 TXOP 조정 알고리듬)

  • This paper proposes a traffic-aware TXOP adjustment algorithm for the IEEE 802.11e networks. In the proposed algorithm the access point (AP) monitors the network traffics periodically and adjusts the TXOP value of the non-QoS traffic in order to improve the network throughput while maintaining the QoS of video and voice applications. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm outperforms the legacy IEEE 802.11e in terms of the throughput and the fairness.

Deadlock-free Routing of an ACV in Accelerated Motion (가감속을 고려한 교착없는 AGV 주행경로설정)

  • In the environment where AGVs(Automated Guided Vehicles) operate concurrently in limited space, collisions. deadlocks, and livelocks which have negative effect on the productivity of AGVs occure more frequently. The accelerated motion of an AGV is also the factor that make the AGV routing more difficult because the accelerated motion makes it difficult to estimate the vehicle's exact travel time. In this study, we propose methods of avoiding collisions, deadlocks, and livelocks using OAR(Occupancy Area Reservation) table, and selecting best route by estimating the travel time of an AGV in accelerated motion. A time-driven simulation validated the effectiveness of the proposed methods.

Efficient Message Scheduling Protocol for Variable-sized Messages in a WDM-based Local Network with Nonzero Tuning Time (WDM 기반의 근거리 망에서 변조시간을 고려한 효율적인 가변 길이 메시지 예약 프로토콜)

  • In a multi-channel network based on wavelength division multiplexing (WDM), an efficient protocol is needed for transmitter and receiver to be tuned to same wavelength during message transmission time. This paper proposes a message scheduling protocol that can efficiently support variable-sized messages, where tunable transceiver has nonzero tuning time. In this protocol, once a node reserves one data channel, it can persistently use the reserved channel till message transmission is finished. Therefore, overhead due to tuning time of the tunable transceiver can be reduced. Moreover, the protocol does not require any global information. Therefore, it can operate independently of the change of the number of nodes, and any new node can join the network at anytime without requiring network initialization. With this protocol, one can avoid data channel and destination conflicts. The protocol is analyzed with a finite population model and the throughput-delay characteristics are investigated as performance measures.

  • Uniform silica nanobeads were synthesized by St$\ddot{o}$ber method and assembled in the form of monolayer on glass substrate using sonication method. Before the assembly of silica nanobeads, glass substrates were treated with molecular linkers, such as CP-TMS and PEI, and nanobeads were dispersed in toluene. In attachment test, SO (sonication without stacking) method and SS (sonnication with stacking) method was used and sonication time was controled. After the experiment, microbalance was use to measure deviation between before and after the attachment experiment then calculate percent of coverage. Minutely observe with SEM (Scanning Electron Microscopy) then select the most close-packed and monolayer assembled cover glass and calculate DOC (Degree of Coverage). In SO method, DOC increased very sharply and reach over 140 percent point, also got lots of multi-layer region. On the other hand, in SS method DOC increased slower than SO method but more close-packed and monolayer assembled.

Prediction-based Dynamic Thread Pool Model for Efficient Resource Usage (효율적인 자원 사용을 위한 예측기반 동적 쓰레드 풀 기법)

  • A dynamic thread pool model is one of a multi-thread server programming model that handles many requests from users concurrently. In most cases, bounded thread pool model is used for server programming. Because it reduces a thread overhead by creating a pool of threads in advance, it ran response more quickly to users' requests. But this model always occupies system resource when there are small amount of requests, which prevents other applications from using available resources. In this paper, for the utilization of occupied but unused resources, we proposed and implemented a prediction-based dynamic thread pool scheme using customized exponential average. From the experiments, we show that this scheme outperforms hounded thread pool model and uses small resources.

The Analysis of Voice Communication Traffic based on ADS-B Providing the Aiming Altitude Parameter (목적고도 정보를 제공하는 ADS-B 환경의 음성통신량 분석)

  • In term of inaccuracy of information and increasing channel occupancy time, the use of voice communication in Air Traffic Control has many problems. In order to improve it, ICAO proposed digital communication and ADS-B system that is more effective for voice communication in ATC. For improvement of effectiveness to add additional parameter to designated ADS-B In-Out data group, many studies being performed. In this paper, we analysis voice communication for reduce the communication traffic in ATC and simulate to add aiming altitude parameter for comparative effect analysis of communication traffic between pilot and controller. The result of the analysis were successfully validated that reduction of communication traffic in ADS-B environments.

Construction of an Estimation Model for Intersection Queue Length (교차로의 대기행렬 예측모형구축에 관한 연구)

  • In this research, a model was developed for estimating the queue length of vehicles, based on occupancy time of each vehicle collected by loop detectors which were setup at the upstream of urban street. The estimation model suggestes a method which minimizes architectural effects of the street, such as existence of pedestrian crossing, for future applications to the field. The estimation model suggested in this research was established based on real traffic data collected at up-stream detectors in Kangnam Subway station, Seoul, and the formula of the model is based on Multi-Polynomial equations. Consequence of the experiments showed that the model can adequately and in real-time mode measure length of the queue which were constructed at the 80 to 90 meters away from the upstream detectors. The estimation accuracy of the model was verified in statistical analysis conducted by regressing analysis and test results in real traffic situation.

A Study of Relative Feeder-Cable Length and Vehicle Detection Length of Loop Detector (루프검지기의 휘더선길이와 차량검지길이의 관계 연구)

  • Loop detection systems have been used in real-time signal control system to collect traffic information for estimating queue lengths. The queue length algorithm uses speed as a key variable estimated from occupancy time and average vehicle length. The measurement of average vehicle length is affected from the lengths of feeder cable, but their effects have not yet been evaluated. In this study, the variability of average vehicle length due to the lengths of feeder cable is assessed through a field study, and a practical guidelines is proposed. By applying this result, the operational performance of real-time signal control system could be improved.
