Ultrasonography-Combined with Nerve Stimulator Technique for Injection of the Genitofemoral Nerve in a Patient with Chronic Postoperative Inguinal Pain (수술 후 서혜부 만성 통증에서 신경 자극기를 이용한 초음파 유도하 음부대퇴신경 차단술)

  • Chronic postoperative inguinal pain (CPIP) is a major complication after inguinal herniorrhaphy. We report the treatment of CPIP using ultrasonography-combined with nerve stimulator for injection of the genitofemoral nerve (GFN). A 59-year-old man underwent laparoscopic herniorrhaphy and presented with numbness from the inguinal region to the scrotum after operation. In the pain clinic, ultrasonography-guided GFN block and pharmacological treatments had little effect. Six month after operation, patient was referred to the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and ultrasonography-combined with nerve stimulator for GFN injection underwent to enhance the accuracy of neural approach. The induction of scrotal contraction and paresthesia on the GFN distribution was monitored by nerve stimulator and local anesthetic was injected. After the block, pain relief lasted for 6 months without analgesic use. Ultrasonography-combined with nerve stimulator is an effective approach to treat CPIP as it enhances precise localization and injection of small peripheral nerve like GFN.

Development of Costumes for Children's Experience Using Imperial Attire of the Daehan Empire (대한제국 황실 복식을 활용한 어린이 체험용 복식 개발)

  • This study selects imperial clothing items for experiential learning for children aged 5 to 7, presents the pattern design process for each, and proposes a production process. We chose costume items with evident characteristics and specific uses, ensuring they did not overlap. The selection considered the need for representative imperial clothing and the diversity of children's experiences. Ultimately, we produced four costumes : emperor, empress, prince, and princess. In terms of shape, color, material, and pattern, by referring to relics and photographic materials, we developed the costume for experience to emphasize the traditional beauty of the imperial costume of the Korean Empire. Moreover, we enhanced the convenience and efficiency of the clothing for children by developing sizes and details that considered various physique conditions.

  • With the recent development of emerging technologies, information acquisition and delivery between users has been actively conducted, and inorganic thin film transfer technology that effectively transfers various materials and devices is being studied to develop flexible electronic devices accordingly. This is aimed at innovative structural changes and functional improvement of electronic devices in the era of the Internet of Things (IoT). In particular, advanced technologies such as microLEDs are used to realize high-resolution flexible displays, and the possibility of heterogeneous integrated technologies can be presented by precisely transferring materials to substrates through various transfer process. This paper introduced physical, chemical, and self-assembly transfer methods based on inorganic thin film materials to implement heterogeneous integrated flexible semiconductor systems and introduces the results of application studies of semiconductor devices obtained through different transfer technologies. These studies are expected to bring about innovative changes in the field of smart devices, medical technology, and user interfaces in the future.

  • 건협 전북지부는 ‘89년 한해동안 전북도내 각급 학교 햑생 및 교직원 7만여명에 대한 간염검사를 실시했다. 전라북도 교육위원회의 협조와 각 학교 양호교사의 적극적인 움으로 가능했던 이 간염검사는 지난 3월부터 10월까지 실시되었다. 검사기관 동안 간염을 비롯한 각종 질병에 대한 보건교육도 병행하여, 좋은 반응을 불러일으켰던 이 사업은 검사에서 결과통보, 그리고 접종까지 모든 사업의 과정에서 관, 민, 기관의 협조가 원할히 이루어짐으로써 좋은 모범을 보여주고 있다. ’90년도에는 아직 검사를 받지 못한 사람을 중심으로 전개되게 될 이 사업의 과정을 건협 전북지부와 교육위원회 등을 찾아가 들어보았다.

  • 전국 시 도회는 지난 해 개최된 총회를 통해 제9대 시 도회장을 새롭게 구성하고 각 지역에서 설비건설업계 및 협회 발전을 위해 활발한 활동을 벌이고 있다. 이에 본지는 전국 시 도회장으로부터 사업계획을 듣는 코너를 연재하고 있다. 이번 호에는 이영길 전북도회 회장[(유)풍남건업 대표]으로부터 전북도회의 사업추진현황과 향후 사업계획을 들었다. 따스함으로 회원사에게 성큼 다가감으로써 단합을 이끌어내고 있는 이영길 회장은 제8대에 이어 제9대까지 연임 중이다. 이영길 회장은 전주비전대학교에 자동화기계과를 신설하여 젊은 기술인력 유입에 물꼬를 트는 등 기계설비업계의 미래비전 기반 마련에 최선을 다하고 있다.

  • 지난 11월 9일 전북대학교 농업생명과학대학에서 개최된 (사)한국가금학회 제34차 정기총회에서 류경선 전북대학교 교수가 학회장으로 추대되었다. 이 자리에서는 차기 회장을 역임할 수석부회장에 김은집 천안연암대 교수가 선정되었고 부회장 및 분과위원장 등이 선임되는 등 임원진 구성이 이루어졌다. 2018년부터 2년간 (사)한국가금학회를 이끌어갈 류경선 회장을 만나 앞으로 학회 운영 계획에 대해 들어보았다.

  • 매년 전북지역 내 농민들에게, 건강검사를 비롯하여 여러가지 복지혜택을 주고있는 전라북도 농업협동조합이 '91. 전북 농협 가족 한마당 큰잔치를 지난 10월 20일에 가졌다. 최근들어 사회적으로 여러가지 어려움을 겪고 있는 농민들의 사기진작을 통해 새로운 결의를 다지기 위해 이번 행사를 개최했다고 전북 농협은 이야기 한다. 참가한 농민들의 구리빛 얼굴에서 잠시나마 어두운 그늘을 벗겨주고 웃음으로 가득차에 해주었던 이번 한마당 큰잔치의 현장을 찾아가 봤다.

Comparison of Stereoselectivity in the Reactions of Crotylmetal Reagents with Dicobalt Hexacarbonyl-Complexed and Uncomplexed Propynals

  • The diastereoselectivity of addition reaction of crotylmetal reagents to cobalt-complexed acetylenic aldehydes and metal-free aldehydes was examined. The anti-diastereomer was the predominant product when the crotyl metallics were Cr, Sn, and Zr. In THF, the uncomplexed aldehydes normally gave higher anti-diastereoselectivity. However, the cobalt-complex of silicon-substituted propynals with three bulky substituents produced increased proportions of syn-diastereomer. In DMF, the selectivity shifted towards syn-isomer except in the case of dimethylphenylsilyl substituent. When tributylstannane was used in the presence of BF3 etherate, moderate syn- selectivity was observed with uncomplexed aldehydes, but only decomposed products from complexed aldehydes.

Electrochemical Reactions of $C_{60}$ Films in the Presence of Water : An Electrochemical Quartz Crystal Microbalance Study

  • Mass transport behavior of C60 films on electrodes with different thicknesses has been studied by an Electrochemical Quartz Crystal Microbalance (EQCM) during electrochemical reduction-oxidation processes in the presence of water. C60 films were found to be reduced in the presence of water and they remains quite stable. In thin films, the mass on electrode decreased after a complete cycle while X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS) study does not support the existence or formation of C60-epoxides during electrochemical reduction processes in the presence of water or oxygen.

Photochemical Formation of 1,5-Diketones from Dibenzoylmethane and Some Quinones

  • Irradiation (300 nm UV light) of dibenzoylmethane and 1,4-naphthoquinone in dichloromethane gave 1,5-dike-tone as the major product, along with β-hydroxyketone as the minor product. Anthraquinone and anthrone also added photochemically to dibenzoylmethane to give 1,5-diketones as the major products. In contrast, tetrahalo-1,4-benzoquinones added to dibenzoylmethane to give two types of 1,5-diketones via oxetane and cyclobutane intermediates. Comparison of the potential energy values of the photoproducts reveals that the 1,5-diketones are more stable than the corresponding oxetanes or cyclobutanes due to the ring-strain of the bicyclic compounds.
