  • 이제 한 달에 한 번은 의무적으로 맛있는 닭요리 전문점을 찾게 되어 버린 필자는 어디를 가건 길가에 걸린 간판부터 보게 된다. 서울 시내 지역적으로 생겨나는 프랜차이즈 닭튀김집이나 아니면 아주 독특한 바베큐 닭집을 종종 발견하게 되었는데, 규모가 작은 곳은 다시금 지나도 어딘지 찾지 못해 난감한 경우가 많다. 그러면 어김없이 다시 맛있는 닭집을 찾아야 하는 미션을 수행해야 한다.

A Study on the Determinants of Coffee Shop's Premium (커피전문점 권리금의 결정변수에 관한 연구)

  • The objective of this paper is to investigate the factors determining the premium of coffee shops by using coffee-shop lease cases at main retail trade areas in Seoul. The focus is on analyzing that the coffee-shops' the sales, building, location and retail trade area characteristics affects the coffee shop's premium. The major findings are as follows. First, there is a high positive correlation between the premium and the sales, and the sales and the size of the shop are shown to be statistically significant variables in estimating the premium per $3.3m^2$. It means that the shop's sale is empirically important an independent variable in determining the premium and as the major costs in the process of starting the business. Second, the deposit money per $3.3m^2$ and public service officers in the retail areas are important in determining the premium. Third, the size of the shop have the effects on the premium per $3.3m^2$ negatively. In short, this study adopts the research hypothesis that retail trade area, location, building of the characteristics, which is located in the coffee shops have the effects on the premium.

The Effects of Customer Satisfaction Based on User Experience on Commitment, Loyalty and Repeated Use in Franchise and Chain Coffee Shops (프랜차이즈와 체인 커피전문점의 이용경험에 따른 고객만족이 몰입, 충성도, 반복적 이용에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the formation of customer's repeated use that is real long-term commitment in franchise/chain coffee shops. 457 effective samples were analyzed using PASW 18.0 and AMOS 18.0. The results of the analysis of the relationships between user experience, customer satisfaction, customer commitment and repeated use are as follows. First, it was presented that atmosphere, price fairness and coffee product quality had a positive impact on customer satisfaction. Second, customer satisfaction had a positive impact on customer commitment and repeated use. Finally, there was the mediating effect of continuous commitment between customer satisfaction and repeated use. Based on the results of the above analysis, the managerial implications for increasing repeated use of coffee shops are as follows. First, the strategy for enhancing performance of user experience is to try to improve atmosphere(facilities, ambient/lighting), price fairness, coffee product quality(taste, flavor, temperature). Second, the strategy for forming repeated use is to enhance customer commitment(affective commitment, continuous/normative commitment).

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the mediating role of trust and relational commitment on capital area and non capital area coffee shop. In order to meet its purpose, we surveyed 264 customers who visited coffee shop in capital area and non capital area. The results are as follows: First, trust was played a mediator role between a brand image and relational commitment. Second, Relational commitment was played a mediating role between trust and brand loyalty. Third, Trust and relational commitment was played a mediator role between brand image and brand loyalty.

  • Physical environments of service firms have been found to influence on customers' quality and purchase intentions. This study began with the preposition that purchase of service products derived from utilitarian or hedonic needs would be different in the influential path. With cases of Korean coffee-shops, this study found ambient, interior, cleanliness of physical environment directly influence to customers' emotion but indirectly influences to purchase intentions. The study also found, differently from some previous studies, appearances of employees had no effect on emotion nor on purchase intentions.

  • The purpose of the study was to investigate university students' using coffee shops. For this study, 265 university students in seoul were surveyed from October 6 to October 10, 2008, and 250 copies of the questionnaire were analyzed. A statistical data analysis was completed using SPSS programs. The results of this study revealed that the importance and performance which university students showed in using coffee shops were 4.03 and 3.01 out of 5 respectively. The Importance-Performance Analysis(IPA) used for obtaining information on coffee shops suggested that the items regarded as important but discontented were price, sanitation of ice, water, appliances, the store and employees in general, and cold storage condition.

  • The purpose of this study is to segment visitors for beer franchise restaurants. Total of 308 questionnaires were distributed to the beer franchise restaurant customers of Kangnam area, Seoul. To accomplish the aim of this study, author took the following three steps. Firstly, literature review was done to find out selective attributes for restaurant and bar and market segmentation. secondly, Selective attributes of beer franchise were analyzed and five factors, -'additional service', 'side dish quality', 'service class', 'accessibility' and 'outlet image'- were extracted. Lastly, customers of beer franchise shop were divided into two groups by the selective attributes, -'simple visiting group' and 'active lover group'. Those variables-loyalty, intent to recommend and overall satisfaction- have significant influence on 'active lover group'. Other than that, other variables -demographic characteristics and customer's behavior characteristics- didn't play important role to distinct two groups. As a result, only basic information for setting up marketing strategy of each market was provided.

  • This study aimed to research the mediating effects of customer satisfaction on the relationship between marketing mix activities and brand loyalty in chicken restaurant. This study intended (1) to analyze the factors of marketing mix activities in chicken restaurant, (2) to research the effect of marketing mix activities on brand loyalty, (3) to research the mediating effects of customer satisfaction on the relationship between marketing mix activities and brand loyalty. Data were collected from undergraduates who visited the nationwide chicken restaurants by face-to-face interview. The questionnaire was distributed of the 400 copies and used 331 in the analysis. The results of this study revealed that (1) the factors of the marketing mix activities were price, promotion, place and product, (2) product only had significant influence on brand loyalty, (3) the effect of product on brand loyalty was significant influence by mediating effect of customer satisfaction.

  • Specialty stores, which have been major channels of Korean cosmetic industry, are bringing out a lot of problems in current distribution channel systems because of its repeated depression of sales. Especially, inefficiency in distribution channel systems is caused by cannibalistic price-off competition between specialty stores, too many launchings of new products, excessive sales promotion, absence or surplus of stock, and so on. Using qualitative methods such as in-depth interview and group discussion, the authors attempt In diagnose fundamental problems of the cosmetic specialty store distribution channels in three viewpoints; achievement of goals, marketing flows in channels, and relationship management. In addition, this paper suggests core strategies for building up the competitiveness of both of the maker and the retailer, The competitive strategies are mainly about securing profitability of retailers, smoothening of marketing flows in channels, and building-up trustful relationships between distribution channel members.

  • This study aimed to research the moderating effects of local & global brand on the relationship between brand equity and behavioral intention in franchised hamburger restaurant. This study intended (1) to analyze the factors of brand equity in franchised hamburger restaurant, (2) to research the effect of brand equity on behavioral intention, (3) to research the moderating effects of local & global brand on the relationship between brand equity and behavioral intention. Data were collected from undergraduates who visited the nationwide hamburger restaurants by face-to-face interview. The questionnaire was distributed of the 300 copies and used 253 in the analysis. The results of this study revealed that (1) the factors of the brand equity were brand awareness, brand image and brand loyalty, (2) brand loyalty, image and awareness had significant influence on behavioral intention in order, (3) the effect of brand awareness on behavioral intention was significant influence by moderating effect of local & global brand.
