  • Recently, there are a great many research for magnetic levitation(Maglev) system. Maglev system is eco-friendly used in a place that is not friction. But Maglev is system that inductance is changed according to air-gap, so this is unstable system. In this paper, we simulate 1 Maglev actuator Control and we do an experience on 4 Maglev actuator system control. however, we get a problem of 4 maglev actuator control, because Maglev is 3 DOF(Degree of Freedom). so we control average err of 2 Maglev actuator in the rear.

  • This paper proposes an optimum design method using Teaching-Learning-based optimization for the fuzzy PID controller of Magnetic levitation rail-guided vehicle. Since an attraction-type levitation system is intrinsically unstable, it is difficult to completely satisfy the desired performance through the conventional control methods. In the paper, a fuzzy PID controller with fixed parameters is applied and then the optimum parameters of fuzzy PID controller are selected by Teaching-Learning optimization. For the fitness function of Teaching-Learning optimization, the performance index of PID controller is used. To verify the performances of the proposed method, we use a Maglev model and compare the proposed method with the performance of PID controller. The simulation results show that the proposed method is more effective than conventional PID controller.

  • Actuator (chopper) and sensors failures resulting from electric shock and mechanical vibration generating by rail irregularities are the serious problem deteriorating the performance in the electromagnetic suspension systems. Thus, this paper proposes the reliable output feedback controller for the electromagnetic levitation systems against actuator, air-gap sensor and acceleration sensor failures. The designed controller is an extend version of a novel design technique which has the design method of the output feedback controller using dynamic compensator. The benefits of this scheme are demonstrated through the experimental results for the proposed controller against chopper, air-gap sensor and acceleration sensor failures of electromagnetic levitation system.

  • In this paper, the control system of the MagLev system for a CPS is designed and implemented. The target to be controlled is PEM(permanent and electromagnet) type with 4-comers levitation which is open-loop unstable, highly non-linear and time-varing system. The designed controller is validated by some kinds of experiments.

  • In this study, a variety of characteristics were shown experimentally under mechanically unbalnced states expected in a practicl system that linear motor is used as a driving motor of magneticlly levitated transit and the design criterion of the linear motor has been proposed. Since, with slip being at 0.1, end effect was reduced a little to increase thrust about 6.14 percents in case thatsinusoidal current conducted 5[A] in short coil at each end of linear motor for compensation of it, if the ratio of sinusoidl current versus input currents is adjusted properly, it is thought that this method small be effective one. And if the gap of exit region is bigger than that of entry region, end effect will be reduced. As a result, more effective driving will be obtained.

  • Gas Insulated Switchgear(GIS) acts as an indispensible part in power transmission network. In order that GIS may have its high reliability, it is necessary to pay careful attention to its whole process e.g., designing, manufacturing, installation, and operation. The main hazard in GIS comes from free conducting particles, which can move and cause breakdown under the influence of the electric field. Although the concentration on protecting the GIS inner part against the free conducting particles is made, it is, actually, almost impossible to avoid the hazard from the particles throughly. In this paper, using the EHV test chamber, partial discharge quantity in GIS was measured when free conducting particles initiate to discharge for providing fundamental data for the purpose of developing predictive diagnosis technology on site GIS.

  • This paper describes the insulation characteristics of GIS by the free conducting particles under alternating voltage. The particles of the GIS can cause decrease in breakdown voltages. Various materials and sizes of free conducting particles were used to study the lift-off and fall-down characteristics. The measured lift-off voltage for copper particle agreed with the calculated one.

  • Maglev is a non-contact traffic system in which cars are supported by magnetic force instead of wheels. This is a ground-breaking traffic system providing superior environmental friendliness and cost efficiency due to the minimal noise and vibration offered by its non-contacting nature. We study the present specification and performance of the low speed urban maglev system in Korea and other countries. After set up the test line, to success the "Commercialization of Korean Urban Maglev System" project, we establish proper requirement of maglev system in Korean environment on base of "Daejeon National Science Museum Maglev Establish Project".

  • Bearingless Switched Reluctance Motor(SRM) have combined characteristics of SRM and magnetic bearing. Production of radial force for rotor shaft magnetic suspension is explained with differential stator windings. Bearingless SRM is simple structurally because the permanent magnet does not exist and bearing does not take the influence at the environment because it does not exist and has strong torque, and loss of bearing by bearing current has the advantage not to exist. In this paper, a design method of bearingless SRM for suspension power and starting torque is proposed. The design model is implement by maxwell.
