Analysis of Surface Temperature on Urban Green Space Using Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Images - A Case of Sorasan Mt. Nature Garden, Iksan, South Korea - (무인항공 영상을 활용한 도심녹지 표면온도 특성 분석 - 익산 소라산 자연마당을 대상으로 -)

  • This study analyzed the surface temperature characteristics of urban green spaces under high summer temperatures to clarify the functions of green spaces in reducing urban temperatures. We obtained accurate surface temperature data using highresolution unmanned aerial vehicle images of the survey site, which was an isolated green space in the city. We analyzed differences in the surface temperature by land cover type, vegetation type, species type, and the relationship between surface temperature and vegetation volume. Based on the results, among the land cover types, wetlands and forests had low temperatures and paving areas had very high temperatures. Regarding vegetation type, broad-leaved trees had lower temperatures than coniferous trees in forests. However, in planted areas, coniferous trees had lower temperatures than broad-leaved trees. The temperature of long grass was higher than that of short grass, which suggested that the volume of grass affected the temperature. Regarding forest species type, the temperature of broad-leaved Robinia pseudoacacia forest and mixed broad-leaved forest was lower than coniferous Pinus densiflora forest. There was a slight difference in temperature between R. pseudoacacia forest and mixed broad-leaved forest. The analysis of the relationship between vegetation volume and temperature by forest species type indicated a negative correlation, where the temperature decreased with increasing vegetation volume, similar to the results of previous studies. However, we found a weak positive correlation in R. pseudoacacia forest; therefore, an increase in volume may not reduce the surface temperature depending on the dominant species.

  • To reduce the effects of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, the government has announced the special platform of technologies as parts of an effort to minimize global climate change, and the government distributed biodiesel since 2006 as the further efforts. Although there are some debates about some quality specifications and unbalanced of source (44% from palm oil), more than 400kton/year of biodiesel was produced in 2013. Moreover the amounts will be increased when the RFS is activated. To solve the unbalanced situation and to achieve the diversity of feeds, it is essential that many researches should be considered. Especially, free and bond glycerines are one of the important properties seriously affected to the combustion system in vehicle & cold properties. Previous method (KS M 2412) couldn't cover the biodiesel derived from lauric oil($C_{12:0}$) such as PKO (Palm Kernel Oil), Coconut oil because those compositions are lighter than other conventional biodiesel sources. In this study, we review the existed method and figure out the factors should improve to analysis the glycerine from PKO and Coconut oil biodiesel. Modifying the analysis conditions to enhance the resolution and change the internal standards to avoid the overlapped- peaks between Capric acid ME ($C_{10:0}$) and standard#1(1,2,4-butantriol). From this revised method, we could solve the restrictions of previous methods. And check the possibility of new method to analyze the glycerine in biodiesel regardless of sources.

EMF (electromagnetic field strength)가 스퍼터된 ITO 박막의 초기 성장에 미치는 영향

  • Indium tin oxide (ITO)는 넓은 밴드갭을 가지는 n-type의 축퇴 반도체로 태양전지, 스마트윈도우, 터치 센서, organic light emitting displays (OLEDs) 등에 널리 적용된다. 최근 touch screen panels (TSPs)의 높은 전기적 특성 및 고해상도 요구에 따라 고품질 ITO 박막개발의 수요도 증가하는 추세이다. 지금까지 ITO 박막의 물성 및 기계적 특성에 관한 많은 연구가 진행되어 왔지만 ITO 초박막 에서의 근본적인 물성 변화에 대한 연구는 미흡한 실정이므로, 이러한 연구는 필수적이라 할 수 있다. ITO 초박막은 광학적 특성은 우수하나, 낮은 결정성으로 인해 전기적 특성이 나쁘다는 단점을 가지며, 이러한 ITO 박막의 결정성은 초기 박막 성장과정에 많은 영향을 받는다. ITO 박막의 초기성장과정은 핵이 생성된 후(nucleation), 각각의 위치에서 성장하게 되고(growth), 합쳐지면서(coalescence) 연속적인 막을 형성 하는데(continuous), 이러한 초기 박막 성장 과정 중에 핵 생성 밀도를 증가시키고 박막이 연속적으로 되는 두께를 감소시킨다면, 더욱 더 고품질의 ITO 초박막을 얻을 수 있을 것이다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 박막 초기 형성 과정 중 섬들이 합체되는 두께를 최소화시키기 위하여 EMF(electromagnetic field strength) 시스템을 이용하였다. EMF 시스템은 DC 캐소드에 전자석 코일을 장착하여 전자기장을 추가로 부가한 것으로, 이를 이용할 경우 스퍼터 원자가 중성상태로 기판에 도달하는 것이 아니라, 이온화되어 Vp-Vf의 차이로 가속되어 추가적인 에너지를 공급받음으로써 기판표면상에서 확산을 촉진시키므로 박막이 연속적으로 되는 임계 두께를 감소시킬 수 있는 것으로 기대된다. 실험은 실온에서 DC 마그네트론 스퍼터링법을 이용하였으며, 유리기판위에 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 20 nm의 두께로 ITO 박막을 제작하였다. 스퍼터링 파워는 150 W (3.29 W/cm3), 작업 압력은 0.13 Pa, 기판과 타깃 사이의 거리는 70 mm였다. 각각의 두께에서 EMF 파워 0, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 W로 인가하여 박막을 제작한 후, EMF 파워에 따른 ITO 박막의 초기 성장 과정중 표면상태를 AFM (atomic force microscope) 이미지를 통하여 관찰하였다. 또한, 두께 약 8 nm에서와 20 nm일 때의 전기적 특성 및 광학적 특성을 관찰하였으며, 두 박막 모두 EMF 파워 15 W를 인가하였을 때 그 특성이 가장 향상되는 것을 확인하였다. 이러한 결과를 통하여 박막은 초기 성장이 중요하므로, 매우 얇은 두께에서 좋은 특성을 가진 박막을 제작하여야 박막의 두께를 증가시켰을 때도 좋은 특성의 막을 얻을 수 있음을 알 수 있었다. 또한, EMF 파워를 증가시킴에 따라 자장강도를 증가시키는 것과 같은 효과 즉, 플라즈마 임피던스가 감소하는 효과를 내어 증착 중 고 에너지 입자 (Ar0, O-)에 의한 박막손상이 감소한 것으로 판단된다. 따라서 적정 EMF 파워 15 W를 인가하였을때 가장 물성이 좋은 ITO 박막을 얻을 수 있었다. 즉, EMF 시스템을 이용하여 저온 공정에서 결함농도가 적은 고품질의 ITO 초박막을 제작할 수 있었다.

The properties of a low expansion glass ceramics of $Li_{2}O-Al_{2}O_{3}-SiO_{2}$ system ($Li_{2}O-Al_{2}O_{3}-SiO_{2}$계 저팽창 결정화 유리의 특성)

  • The glass-ceramic of the $Li_{2}O-Al_{2}O_{3}-SiO_{2}$ system was investigated to develop the low thermal expansion materials. The glass of this system was heat treated at $775^{\circ}C$ for 2 h for nucleation and subsequently at $825{\sim}900^{\circ}C$ for 2 h for crystallization. The crystal structure of the glass-ceramic of this system was a single phase of $\beta$-quartz solid solution($Li_{x}Al_{x}Si_{1-x}O_{2}$). The thermal expansion of the glass-ceramic showed $4.40{\times}10^{-7}{\sim}1.33{\times}10^{-6}K^{-1}$ between $25{\sim}300^{\circ}C$ and $1.56{\times}10^{-6}{\sim}2.53{\times}10^{-6}K^{-1}$ between $25{\sim}800^{\circ}C$, higher than lower temperature range. The mechanical strength remained almost same at around high 110 MPa with heating temperature changes.

Fabrication of Photocatalytic TiO2 thin Film Using Aerosol Deposition Method and its Filtration Characteristics (에어로졸 증착법을 이용한 광촉매 TiO2 박막 제조 및 박막의 여과 특성)

  • The objective of this study is to evaluate the effect of operational parameters such as rotation speed and vibrating milling time for the fabrication of photocatalytic $TiO_2$ thin film using aerosol deposition methods. $TiO_2$ powders produced in the range of 1,000-3,000 rpm of rotation speed of centrifugal separator are ineffective on the fabrication of $TiO_2$ thin film by aerosol deposition due to the problem of nozzle powder jam. $TiO_2$ powders controlled by vibrating milling had about 420 nm of average diameter after 2 hr of vibrating milling time. The result of XRD analysis indicated that $TiO_2$ powders had a anatase phase. Vibrating milling methods was considered to be an effective pre-treatment process for $TiO_2$ powder control. Consequently $TiO_2$ photocatalytic thin film with dispersion of anatase crystallites controled by vibrating milling was successfully fabricated by aerosol deposition. The permeation flux of $TiO_2$ photocatalytic thin film with the immobilized $TiO_2$ powder was higher than that of suspended $TiO_2$ powder. Therefore, $TiO_2$ photocatalytic thin film promises to be one of the effective methods for enhancing filtration performance for the treatment of organic pollutants.

  • Natural gas in deep sediment may occur in three phases based on the physical and chemical conditions. If the concentration of gas in pore water is less than the solubility, gas is dissolved. If the concentration of gas is greater than its solubility (water is saturated or supersaturated with gas), gas occurs as a fee gas below the gas hydrate stability Lone (GHSZ) and is present as solid hydrate within the GHSZ. The knowledge of gas concentration in deep sediment appears critical to determine the phase of natural gases and to understand the formation and distribution of gas hydrate. However, reliable data on gas concentration are usually available only from the upper section of marine sediment by the headspace gas technique, which is widely used for sampling of gases from the sediments. The headspace gas technique represents only a fraction of gases present in situ because sediments release most of the gases during recovery and sampling. The PCS (Pressure Core Sampler) is a downhole tool developed to recover a nominal $1{\cal}m$ long, $4.32{\cal}cm$ diameter core containing $1,465cm^3$ of sediment, pore water and gas at in situ pressure up to 68.9 MPa. During Leg 204, the PCS was deployed at 6 Sites. In situ methane gas concentration and distribution of gas hydrate was measured by using PCS tool. Characteristics of methane concentration and distribution is different from site to site. Distribution of gas hydrate in the study area is closely related to characteristics of in situ gas concentration measured by PCS.

Study of Catalytic Filter on the Removal of Dust and HVOC (촉매필터를 이용한 먼지 및 HVOC 제거 특성 연구)

  • Catalytic filter is capable of performing shallow bed dust filtration plus a catalytic reaction, promoted by a catalyst deposited in its inner structure. Such a feature may allow potential cost and space reduction in several environmental applications. Dust filtration and halogenated volatile organic compound (1,2-dichlorobenzene) destruction were carried out in a lab-scale reactor. $WO_3-V_2O_5/TiO_2$ supplied by MaGreen, which showed high catalytic acitivity at low temperature, was used as a catalyst. P-84 that can be operated under $250^{\circ}C$ was used as a felt. The catalytic activity and filtration efficiency of catalytic filters were investigated under the operating conditions, including temperature, face velocity, and dust concentration. The catalytic activity of catalytic filter increased with increasing temperature and the amount of catalyst loaded. The test results showed that the filtration efficiency was primarily affected by the face velocity. Pressure drop variations as a function of time were investigated for a variety of conditions. In case of virgin filter, a dramatic decrease in the pulse interval and a slightly increase in the base line pressure drop were observed. A relatively slow pressure drop build-up was recorded for the catalytic filter due to smooth and slippery surface characteristics of nanofiber. The catalytic filter indicated that high filtration efficiency over 99.98% and high catalytic activity over 90% at 1 m/min and $210^{\circ}C$.

Prevalence of Anisakid larvae in chum salmon Oncorhynchus keta in Korea (한국산 연어의 아니사키스형 유충의 감염현황)

  • The infestation status of anisakid type larvae was investigated in migrating chum salmon (Oncorhynchus keta), with different condition (captured area, sex, body portion) during 2006~2008. The mean infection number of anisakid larvae per individual female and male fish captured from Namdae river was $98{\pm}27$, $103{\pm}27$, respectively. The mean infection number of anisakid larvae per individual female and male fish captured from the coastal area of Yangyang was $63{\pm}18$ and $108{\pm}17$, respectively. The anisakid larvae were mainly found in abdominal muscles (85%) but only a little in the visceral portion. Two types of anisakid larvae (A. simplex, Contracaecum type) were identified but other anisakid larvae were not detected. To investigate the effect of storing temperature on the viability of anisakid larvae, the section of abdominal muscle were stored at different temperature (room temperature, $4^{\circ}C$, $-20^{\circ}C$, $-80^{\circ}C$). As a result, it was necessary to store at $-20^{\circ}C$ for more than 6 hrs to kill the larvae. The present results revealed that chum salmon caught in Korea are heavily infected with anisakid larvae, mainly in the abdominal muscle, and A. simplex was dominantly found in this study.

Silk Degumming by Electrolyzed Alkaline Water (전해 알칼리수에 의한 견의 정련)

  • This studies were carried out to develop the new silk degumming method by elelectrolyzed alkaline water on the silk degumming process. Using to this method, it could be collect pure sericin from the degumming water, because the degumming water by elelectrolyzed alkaline water was not contaminated by chemicals including soap. The range of elelectrolyzed alkaline water was pH 11.5 to 11.7 and maintained the first value for 8 days under the cool and closed conditions. The degumming ratio of silk was higher in elelectrolyzed alkaline water(pH 11.5~11.7)than that of soap and alkaline bath. When the pH value of elelectrolyzed alkaline water was adjusted at pH 11.0, the degumming ratio of silk was similar to that of soap and alkaline degumming. After degumming the pH value of degumming water decreased largely in the elelectrolyzed alkaline water compared to that of soap and alkaline bath. The tenacity and elongation of degummed silk by elelectrolyzed alkaline water was almost same those of soap and alkaline degumming for 90 min.

Structural Properties of MO-SiO$_2$(M=Zn, Sn, In, Ag, Ni) by Sol-Gel Method (졸겔법으로 제조된 MO-$SiO_2$(M=Zn,Sn,In,Ag,Ni)의 구조특성)

  • $MO-SiO_2$ (M = Zn, Sn, In, Ag, Ni) binary silica gels were synthesized by sol-gel method and their structural change with the kind of metal ions was characterized by XRD, FT- IR and $^{29}$Si-NMR. Although X-ray analysis showed partial recrystallization of $AgNO_3$ in $Ag-SiO_2$gel, crystalline phase formed by the bonding between metal ion and the silica matrix didn't appear in all $MO-SiO_2$ gels. The FT-IR analysis showed that Zn, Sn and in partially formed Si-O-M bonding in silica matrix and made an shift of absorption peak to by Si-O-Si symmetrical vibration. In addition, $^{29}Si-NMR$ studies showed that Zn, Sn and In didn't affect sol-gel process of silica and were linked with non-bridging oxygen of the linear silica structure, which formed imperfect network because of low temperature sol-gel process. Ag and Ni make a role of catalysis on sol-gel process, resulting in densifying the silica network structure.
