Background: We aimed to provide basic data for improving the effectiveness of the invitational training and reflecting it in the program in the following year by identifying the satisfaction level of trainees who participated in the "Dr. LEE Jong-wook Fellowship Program" funded by the Korea Foundation for International Healthcare. Methods: A qualitative study was conducted using a questionnaire interview. In the first stage of analysis, only the interview contents related to the research topic were classified by the researcher for the conversations recorded at the interview site, and in the second stage of analysis, the interview contents classified in the first stage were classified into each of those mentioned in this study. Results: The longer the trainees participated in the program and the better the accessibility, the higher the satisfaction with the program. In addition, the level of achievement of the trainees' goals and the level of improvement in their competence affected their satisfaction, and their difficulty in language communication during the training period was identified as a factor affecting the trainees' satisfaction level. In addition, competency improvement and satisfaction were positively correlated (r=0.75, p=0.03). Conclusion: When organizing a rehabilitation workforce capacity training program, it is important to identify trainees' needs, ensure accessibility, organize courses effectively, enhance English proficiency, and expand practical lectures to increase trainees' knowledge and understanding of rehabilitation.

The research was conducted with the purpose of providing effective safety and quality control system for assistive products for handicapped those are used extensively. Assistive products couldn't be classified independently due to collision with the act of medical device and lack in legal basis. The issues about safety and quality have been solved by other legal frames on a case by case basis. We couldn't find any abroad case of independent safety and quality control policy. For the practical solution, this article suggested hybrid classification system mixed with existing policies. Each classified branches are allocated to the appropriate policy of safety and quality control so those are ease of understanding and prospect. And also a delicacy process was suggested not to leave off any assistive products. Through these suggests of the improvement it is expected that blind areas of safety and quality control for assistive products for handicapped could be solved and identity of assistive products could be established to provide product safety for handicapped and boost relevant industries.

Neuralgic amyotrophy (NA) is an idiopathic disease characterized by muscular atrophy accompanied by neuralgia, where acute pain in the limb, mostly including the shoulders, leads to muscle weakeness and atrophy in the limb days to weeks after the onset of pain. Although its exact pathogenesis is unknown, genetic and nongenetic factors, such as infection, surgery, and trauma are suspected contributors. We report this case as we diagnosed NA of the right lower limb via enhanced MRI as well as EMG and have followed up the patient's prognosis and radiologic changes for one and a half years. In addition, the patient had been diagnosed with neuropsychiatric disorders, such as major depressive disorder and somatic symptom disorder.

The Korean medical device industry has increased dramatically due to various investments in the domestic medical device industry and the introduction of new technologies, but the domestic medical device usage rate in great hospital is still low. In this paper, improvement point for domestic medical device was suggested by domestic medical device usage rate and user and manager's perception survey in great hospitals in Korea. To do this, a survey on the types of medical devices and domestic medical device usage rates were conducted at four national university hospitals in Korea. From this results, the priority survey medical devices were selected. Improvements of Korean medical devices were suggested by failure mode analysis and user awareness surveys for the priority survey medical devices.

The goal of this study is to provide the basic information for improvement of domestic standards on the powered scooter and the electric wheelchair considering using environments in the nation. The international standards and domestic standards have been analyzed and compared, in order to propose improved domestic standards. Based on the research, the items and standards for general and functional recommendations, electric features, and other suggestions have been reexamined so that the improvements on test item and standards have been identified, corrected, and summarized including max. speed, brake system, lights and so on. We have been preparing the reference data for the improvement of standards on the powered scooter and the electric wheelchair through the comparison & analysis on the international and domestic standards.

Electrically operated hospital bed and operating table are useful devices to care patients and to keep postures of them in medical treatment. However they have the risk of physical injury due to various functions and mechanisms consisting of them. In this paper we propose particular requirements for the safety and test methods of electrically operated hospital beds and operating table classified into medical devices. Each items are developed based on international standards. The results of this study can be used for developing internationally harmonized standards for the approval of Korea Food and Drug Administration (KFDA).

The rehabilitation for the workplace accident victims is basically aimed to get them back to their working place through the secondary care processes which have some more special and more professional rehabilitation than any others, after the primary treatments like operation in an acute hospital since the accident. They need more concentrative rehabilitation efforts according to classified injury types during the period of acute, sub-acute and convalescent. This study is for the partial research of rehabilitation hospital for workers' accident victims and presents design data which can be used for the appropriate area calculation and spatial composition. Drawing documents analysis, interviews, observation were used to examine the condition of existing rehabilitation hospitals.

The percentage of postnatal disabled people and elderly population is rapidly increased by the industrialization, and the improvement of medical technology. The disparity between the city and rural area is in the way to disabled people who need rehabilitation. To solve these problems, Community Based Rehabilitation(CBR) is suggested by WHO. In this study, at first, the CBR model considering the specific characteristics of AnSan City are presented. Secondly, the first, the second, and the third rehabilitation facilities in AnSan City are classified by the CBR model. Thirdly, the estimation of optimum space for physical therapy and occupational therapy at rehabilitation center and public health center are sugested, which are the second level rehabilitation facilities. There are some differences in the distribution of population between new and old area in AnSan City. In other words, the subject population of CBR program in old area is relatively higher than that of new area. So, the CBR program for AnSan City must reflect their regional characteristics. In this study, the therapeutic boundaries of second level rehabilitation facilities is decided through the survey of physical therapists and occupational therapists in general hospitals and nursing homes.

As the super-aged society is imminent, the number of people with senile diseases is also increasing, resulting in a lack of facilities and policies as a social problem. National Health Insurance Service is being talked about as a realistic alternative to medical coverage. Long-term care hospitals are classified into acute-stage hospitals and long-term care facilities and are acting as an alternative to reducing medical expenses. However, in long-term care hospitals, which are the core of maintenance rehabilitation, the quality of service issues have been raised seriously. Currently, there is a problem of mass production of refugees from rehabilitation due to a problem of the medical system. In particular, in the preceding study in 2015, the status of long-term care hospitals in Jeollabuk-do was the worst. Therefore, using public data, the general status of long-term care hospitals in Jeollabuk-do, status of frequent disease, status of rehabilitation services, and status of occupational therapy services are to be explored.
