An Automatic Travel Control of a Container Crane using Neural Network Predictive PID Control Technique (신경회로망 예측 PID 제어법을 이용한 컨테이너 크레인의 자동주행제어)

  • In this paper, we develop anti-sway control in proposed techniques for an ATC system. The developed algorithm is to build the optimal path of container motion and to calculate an anti-collision path for collision avoidance in its movement to the finial coordinate. Moreover, in order to show the effectiveness in this research, we compared NNP PID controller to be tuning parameters of controller using NN with 2 DOF PID controller. The experimental results for an ATC simulator show that the proposed control scheme guarantees performances, trolley position, sway angle, and settling time in NNP PID controller than other controller. As a result, the application of NNP PID controller is analyzed to have robustness about disturbance which is wind of fixed pattern in the yard. Accordingly, the proposed algorithm in this study can be readily used for industrial applications

  • The automatic Landing system is used for the automatic functions of automatic transfer crane in the automated container terminal. It confirms and adjusts the alignment and pose between spreader and container and accomplishes the automatic loading/unloading job of containers in yard. Specially, it is required in the automated container terminal and is well adapted under the coarse external environments. This system used the laser sensors to recognize the alignment between spreader and container. In this paper the algorithm of recognition of the alignment and pose is presented and the result of its simulation is shown.

  • In this paper we design a GA-fuzzy controller for position control and anti-swing at the destination point. Applied genetic algorithm is used to complement the demerit such as the difficulty of the component selection of fuzzy controller namely scaling factor membership function and control rules. lagrange equation is used to represent the motion equation of trolley and load in order to obtain mathematical modelling. Simulation results show that the proposed control technique is superior to a conventional optimal control in destination point moving and modification.

  • In this paper, we present a design of optimal 2-DOF PID controller for control of gantry crane which has to control swing motion and trolley position. For tuning the parameter of 2-DOF PID controller, we used evolution strategy(ES). During operate the crane system in yard, the goal is transporting the load to a goal position as quick as possible without rope oscillation. The crane is generally operated by an expert operator, but recently an automatic control system with high speed and rapid transportation is required. However, we developed an optimal controller which has to control the crane system with disturbance.

  • While researches related with construction automation have dramatically increased, a Robot-based Automatic Construction system (RCA system) has developed for high-rise buildings in Korea. At the aspect that wide adoption of the RCA system is dependent on economic efficiency comparing with a conventional method, feasibility study on the RCA system should be implemented. However, due to practical limitations, the RCA system has tested to a seven story building. Based on the test results, this study implements a cost/benefits analysis to a simulated forty story building in order to derive more reliable data on the RCA system's practicability.

  • 컨테이너 터미널에서 효율적인 적하작업 계획을 자동으로 생성하는 알고리즘을 연구하였다. 실제 터미널에서 계획자들이 적하작업 계획시에 고려하는 제약소건 및 효율적인 계획을 위한 고려사항을 조사하였다. 이를 바탕으로 1단계에서는 개미시스템(ant system)이라는 인공지능기법을 적용하여 제약조건을 만족시키면서 원활한 적하작업이 진행될 수 있도록 컨테이너 크레인과 트랜스퍼 크레인의 이동순서와 위치를 결정하고, 2단계에서는 1단계에서의 결과를 바탕으로 빔탐색법(beam search)을 사용하여 컨테이너 개개의 작업순서를 결정하는 알고리즘을 개발하였다. 또한 개발된 시스템의 성능을 검증하기 위하여 최근의 대형선반에 대한 실제 현장자료를 바탕으로 실험을 수행하였다.

  • In this paper, stacker crane is modeled as rigid elements and discrete flexible beam connections by kinematics & dynamics solver package program instead of deriving the equations of motion which describes the total dynamics of the system. For the simulation of structural dynamics, ADAMS, a software for the simulation of multiple rigid body dynamics, is used. Some kinds of works are fulfilled to examine the dynamic characteristics of system. In order to verify the analysis method, the results of simulation and experiment are compared.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate vulnerable parts of tower crane structures by analyzing extensive non-destructive test data. Approximately ten percent of domestically registered tower cranes were inspected by using magnetic particle inspection. The testing was carried out as advised in KS B 0213. The non-destructive results was analyzed with respect to jib types, age and crane size. As a result, the number of crack occurrences were the largest in mast parts, followed by main jib part. Moreover, it was found that turntables were important parts deserved to be noticed at the perspective of safe maintenance.

  • At present, construction automation is a critical solution for the shortage of labor and the aging of skilled workers. Especially, researches for transportation automation are achieved to improve the efficiency as the construction of tall-building construction. Transportation automation needs to control the swung member by the inertia and/or the wind-force at the end of cable. However, previous to control, the presupposition of the swing is heavily difficult work because the inertia and the wind force are irregularly changable according to work condition. Therefore, in this study, dynamic modeling of crane and simulation was performed to find the characteristic of the swing. In the result, the maximum displacement of the swung material was analyzed. And, on the basis of analysis, the criteria to decide workability of automated transportation considering the material size and the wind force onsite was proposed.

  • We consider a Direct Input Output Manufacturing System(DIOMS) which has a munber of machine centers placed along a built-in Automated Storage/Retrieval System(AS/RS). The Storage/Retrieval(S/R) machine handles parts placed on pallets for the machine centers located at either one or both sides of the AS/RS. This paper deals with the operational aspect of DIOMS and determines the optimal operating policy by combining computer simulation and genetic algorithm. The operational problem includes: input sequencing control, dispatching rule of the S/R machine, machine center-based part type selection rule and storage assignment policy. For each operating policy, several different policies are considered based on the known research results. In this paper, using the computer simulation and genetic algorithm we suggest a method which gives the optimal configuration of operating policies within reasonable computation time.
