Facial Expression Recognition through Self-supervised Learning for Predicting Face Image Sequence

  • In this paper, we propose a new and simple self-supervised learning method that predicts the middle image of a face image sequence for automatic expression recognition. Automatic facial expression recognition can achieve high performance through deep learning methods, however, generally requires a expensive large data set. The size of the data set and the performance of the algorithm are tend to be proportional. The proposed method learns latent deep representation of a face through self-supervised learning using an existing dataset without constructing an additional dataset. Then it transfers the learned parameter to new facial expression reorganization model for improving the performance of automatic expression recognition. The proposed method showed high performance improvement for two datasets, CK+ and AFEW 8.0, and showed that the proposed method can achieve a great effect.

The Effects of Team-Based Learning on Fundamentals of Nursing (기본간호학 수업에서 팀기반 학습 적용 효과)

  • This research was explored the effects of the application of the team-based classes on the self-directed learning, the academic self-efficacy, and the level of learning satisfaction of the nursing students. Study subjects are 104 nursing students from one university from G region. The data were analyzed by t-test, one-way ANOVA, paired t-test, Pearson's correlation coefficients. With regard to the differences between the levels of the learning satisfaction, the differences were shown (t=4.410, p<.05). Regarding the self-directed learning, it rose to the average of 3.50 points after the application of the team-based learning from the average of 3.39 points. It showed a difference (t=-2.083, p=<.05). And the academic self-efficacy rose to 3.65 points from the 3.12 points after the application of the self-based learning. And it showed a difference (t=-14.175, p=<.001). The level of the learning satisfaction was shown to be over the middle with the average of 3.73 points. And the self-directed learning after the application of the team-based learning showed an academic self-efficacy (r=.512, p<.001), a level of the learning satisfaction (r=.421, p<.001), and a positive relationship. It was proven that the team-based learning can cultivate the capabilities for effectively solving the clinical problems.

An Empirical Study on the Relationship between User's MBTI Personality Types and Continuous IS Usage Intention (사용자 MBTI 성격유형과 정보시스템 지속사용의도간의 관계에 관한 실증적 연구)

  • Focusing upon the post-adoption stage of IS, this study reasoned that IS users' personality is one of major influencing factors of continuous IS usage intention and empirically examined how the degree of continuous IS usage intention is variable according to the IS users' personality types classified based on MBTI(Myers Briggs Type Indicator). In order to validate the research model and hypotheses, this study made a field survey of 330 IS users and statistically analysed response data. The results of empirical analyses showed that the intent of continuous IS usage was affected by self-efficacy of IS; and self-efficacy by self-leadership of IS; and self-leadership by IS user' personality type and expectation confirmation. That is, it was found that IS users' personality type and three intervening variables(expectation confirmation, self-leadership and self-efficacy) were significant predictors of the intent of continuous IS usage. This study is thought to be contributive to providing the theoretical basis of finding IS success factors in the post-adoption stage and the practical guideline for effective personnel management relevant to IS implementation.

Effect of Motive for Major Selection on Major Satisfaction, Campus-life Satisfaction, and Self-directed Learning Ability among Nursing Students (간호대학생의 전공선택동기가 전공만족도, 대학생활만족도 및 자기주도 학습능력에 미치는 영향)

  • This study attempted to survey nursing students' motives for choosing nursing as their major, and to examine how such motives affect their satisfaction with their major, campus-life satisfaction, and self-directed learning ability. This study was conducted as a descriptive survey. Data were collected using a self-report questionnaire during the period from the 1st to 15th of April, 2015, and the questionnaires from 195 nursing students were used in the analysis using Fisher's exact test, t-test, one way ANOVA, Mann Whitney test, and ANCOVA. Only 41.5% of the nursing students chose nursing as their major because of their aptitude and interest. The motive for the selection of the major was found to have a significant effect on their satisfaction with the major (p<.001), campus-life satisfaction (p=.008), and self-directed learning ability (p=.001). Middle and high school students should be provided with various types of information on nursing, so that they can have the opportunity to choose nursing based on their aptitude and interest before entering university. Once they start university, nursing students' adjustment to campus-life and learning ability should be enhanced through various extracurricular activity programs in order to stimulate their interest in the major.

Effects of Online Practicum Based on Action Learning on Self-directed Learning Ability, Academic Self-efficacy, and Cooperation Ability of Nursing Students (액션러닝 기반 온라인 실습이 간호대학생의 자기주도적 학습능력, 학업적 자기효능감과 협업능력에 미치는효과)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of online practicum based on action learning on self-directed learning ability, academic self-efficacy, and cooperation ability of nursing students. Similar experimental study of single group pre-post test design was used to investigate the effects of this online class. A total of 47 nursing students who were junior grade from one college participated in this study and self-administered questionnaire was used for data collection. Data were analyzed by frequencies, paired t test using the SPSS/Window 21.0 program. The result of this study showed that the improvement after online practicum based on action learning was significant in self-directed learning ability(t=3.832, p<.001), academic self-efficacy(t=4.258, p<.001), and cooperation ability(t=3.853, p<.001). These findings imply the value of online practicum based on action learning to enhance competency of nursing students. In the future, more studies should be conducted in the same group including control group and blended learning method using action learning to validate the effectiveness.

  • A web-based instructor-learner system has changed the form into a learner-centered environment. Especially a self-regulated learning which is a self-leading and a positive learning, is an ideal learning, and the interest on it is more increasing. In this research, learners can organize the individualized course based on the learner's demand and learning level after making a contract process with the system, The self-regulated learning system which can recognize a learning status and result by analyzed data, and which can lead to a learning goal effectively by establishing a learning strategy, is designed and implemented. The proposed system provides the learner-centered learning environment which can process the differentiated and flexible individualized-teaming service considering an individual characteristic.

  • With progress of informationalization, education has been transformed from traditional uni-direction education to bi-directional and consumer-oriented education, which is performed by learner's self study and interactive education of multiple dimension between a learner and contents, between a learner and a teacher, and between a learner and a learner irrespective of space-time. According to this trend, a new education method has been required. Therefore, in this paper, we will propose real-time consumer-oriented distance education system of making interaction maximum using WBI. In this system, a learner can participate in an individual study case by multiple interaction with a learner's designing and plaining study, and also participate in group study case by way of discussion and conversation among participants.

  • Reading abilities are the key for students' problem-solving, self-directed learning and lifelong competency. Reading to learn is usually created through resources-based learning or inquiry-based learning. This study shows a integrated cross-curriculum approach as a alternative method of the reading to learn and it is completed In collaboration with classroom teachers. In this study especially, the model for reading-based information problem solving is introduced as a specific learning strategy of a integrated cross-curriculum and team-teaching.

  • 휴대폰이나 PDA와 같은 모바일 기기의 확산과 더불어 모바일 통신 환경을 기반으로 하는 모바일 교육 학습 모델이 교육의 질향상 및 교육 효과의 극대화를 꾀할 것으로 기대되는 실정이다. 또한 모바일 환경에서 학습자가 지속적이고 자기 주도적으로 학습을 하기 위해서 자기조절학전략이 필요하며, 이를 위해 모바일 학습환경에 적합한 MMIS(Motivation Metacognitive practice Interaction. Self-reflection: 자기 주도학습전략)모형을 설계하도록 하였다. 특히 학습자의 지속적인 흥미와 동기부여를 위해 에튜테인먼트(edutainment)전략을 활용하여 모바일 게임에 익숙한 학습자의 특성에 맞는 모형으로 설계하였다. 본 논문에서 설계한 MMIS 모형의 특징은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 학습자가 스스로 학습 전략을 계획하고 통제할 수 있도록 게임의 난이도를 스스로 결정할 수 있다. 둘째, 학습자가 게임활동을 스스로 계획하고, 게임 결과를 모니터링 할 수 있다. 셋째, 사전에 게임에 필요한 학습 내용을 제공받음으로써 게임에서 좋은 결과를 얻기 위한 노력을 할 수 있도록 하였다. 넷째, 게임을 할 때 해결하기 어려운 과제의 경우에는 교사나 게임에서 제공되는 힌트를 통해 스스로 필요한 도움을 찾아낼 수 있다.

  • 2015 개정 교육과정은 바른 인성을 갖춘 창의융합형 인재를 양성하는 데에 교육과정 구성의 중심을 두고, 교육과정 구성에 다양한 학생 참여형 수업을 활성화하여 자기주도적 학습능력을 기르고 학습의 즐거움을 경험하도록 하고 있다. 소프트웨어 교육을 통해 이를 실현할 수 있는 방법은 재미있고 흥미를 끄는 학습내용의 구성과 학습 방법이라 본다. 이에 학습자들의 흥미를 끄는 앱을 제작함에 유대인의 교육방식인 하브루타를 적용하여, 학습자 참여 중심의 자기주도 학습을 설계하고 이를 통해 컴퓨팅 사고력을 신장시키고 바른 인성을 갖춘 창의 융합형 인재를 양성할 수 있는 하나의 방법을 제안하고자 한다.
