The purpose of this study was to analyze the smart phone usage experience structure for college students. The phenomenology approach was used by conducting 4 times in-depth interviews with the 7 college students age between 20~23. Collected Data was analyzed by Giorgi's phenomenological method. There were 4 general structure descriptions and 28 themes. General structure descriptions were 'Dependence on smart phone', 'Phenomenon of smart phone usage', 'Results of smart phone usage' and 'Relationship between stress and smart phone'. Themes consisted of 'Ambivalence', 'Positive feelings for smart phones', 'Separation anxiety', 'Negative feelings for smart phones'. 'Dependent feelings for smart phones', 'A sense of unity with smart phones', 'Helpful for my life', 'Deeply involved with my life', 'Useful tool in my life', 'Study, communication, relaxation and health care', 'Maintain personal relationship', 'The most important thing in my life', 'Shallow relationship stress', 'Interference with personal relationship', 'Forming a negative relationship', 'Invasion of privacy', 'Forming a Incorrect relationship', 'Unwanted participation', 'No effort to improve relationship', 'Poor concentration', 'Interference with academic study', 'Study assistance', 'Limited help for study in depth', 'Shelter from the stress', 'Amplification of the stress', 'Obsessive focus', 'Feel separation for the reality' and 'Waste of time'. Smart phone usage make college students dependent on smart phones and had negative influence on both personal relationship and academic results. Usage of smart phone also amplified stress. Therefore we need fundamental principles on usage of smart phone and propose to build cultural etiquette that provides reasonable way to use smartphone.
The purposes of this study were to explore the relations of preschoolers' narrative representation profile types to diurnal cortisol regulation pattern at home. Fourteen story stems from the MacArthur Story Stem Battery (MSSB, Bretherton, et al., 1990) were administered to 40 preschoolers(22 boys, 18 girls, aged 5) recruited from 8 kindergartens in the Seoul and Gyeonggi areas. And also, their saliva cortisol was collected. The children's responses were aggregated into 5 dimensions, based on content themes and performance scores, which included emotions expressed and narrative coherence using the MacArthur Narrative Coding System(Robinson, et al., 2004). Data were analyzed by means of cluster analysis. Five response profiles emerged over the course of this research: Prosocial, Anxiety, Dyregulated aggression, Restricted, and Avoidance profiles. Cortisol at home showed decrease diurnal cortisol regulation patterns, however it showed a difference according to narrative response profiles. Restricted, Prosocial, and Avoidance profiles showed decrease diurnal cortisol regulation patterns. Anxiety profiles showed flat pattern, and Dyregulated aggression profile showed rising diurnal cortisol regulation pattern. These results show the preschoolers' internal representation may affect the diurnal cortisol reaction in daytime.
The purpose of this study was to analyze the research trends in children's daily stress from 1990 to 2009. A total of 97 articles were selected from 30 Korean journals in the field of child development, early childhood education, psychology and so on. We analyzed the trends of research focusing specifically on the participants, themes, and methodology by 5 years, and discussed the features of major stress scales. The results were as follows. Firstly, research on children's stress started in the first half of the 1990s and drastically increased in the latter half of that decade. In the following decade, more various journals dealt with articles on children's stress, and more studies were conducted on the intervention of stress. Secondly, many studies investigated the developmental change in stress, rather than focusing on the same age group. The younger preschoolers participated in studies as years go by, indicating that the age of suffering from stress was downward. Thirdly, most research used stress as a dependent variable to examine the factors affecting stress. Fourthly, questionnaires, observation and interview were used as methods to measure children's stress, while qualitative research was rarely conducted. Lastly, scales to measure children's stress should be revised and developed, especially for succeeding research in the area of early childhood.

In modern people, smartphone is used in many fields of life styles in world wide. Its convenience and function are improved. Appropriate sleeping is essential to modern people. The overuse of smartphone threats sleeping of modern people. Result of this study shows that the deeper the addiction with smart phones the lower the quality of sleep, especially in troubles staying awake. The quality of sleep also associated with general factors including spending money, type of housing and degree of stress. There is a correlation between smart phone dependency and the quality of sleep and the more severe the dependency the more likely that the quality of sleep might fall. So we need adequate education to use smartphone for saving sleeping of modern people.
The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of parenting efficacy, parenting stress on elementary school children's self-efficacy and daily stress. The subjects were 355 children selected from 4 elementary schools and their mothers. Data was collected using the parenting efficacy index, parenting stress index, children's self-efficacy inventory and children's daily stress inventory. Data was statistically analyzed using the t-test, one way ANOVA(Duncan test), correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis. The study showed that there were some significant differences in children's self-efficacy according to the child's grade, gender, scholastic achievement, mother education, father education, and income. There were some significant differences in children's daily stress according to the child's grade, gender, and scholastic achievement. Correlation analysis indicated that the maternal parenting efficacy and children's self-efficacy, especially self-confidence had a significant positive correlation, and indicated a negative correlation with children's daily stress. Correlation analysis indicated that maternal parenting stress and children's self-efficacy had a significant negative correlation, and indicated a positive correlation with children's daily stress. It was also found that scholastic achievement, educational distress of the mother, father education were significant predictors of the children's self-efficacy, and healthy parenting ability, father education, stress of a difficult child, scholastic achievement, gender were all significant predictors of the children's daily stress.
To study reliability and validity of PWI, this newly developed self-administered questionnaire which measures stress, was given to medical students. All respondent(133) were followed 4 weeks later and 92 were retested. Cronbach's $\alpha$ coefficient of data was 0.93. Test-retest reliability measured by Pearson's correlation coefficient was 0.72(P<0.01). Exploratory factor analysis(EFA) performed by principal axis factor method without iteration and by varimax rotation explored 13 principal components(eigenvalues > 1). After exploring 4 factor structure according to previous study results, factor 1 showed good agreement but other factors did not. Confirmatory factor analysis(CFA) showed poor fit of 4 factor model to data. In the further study, it may be considered to model that has unidimensional factor structure.

Purpose: This study was conducted to understand the effects of daily hassle stress on the psycho-social health of male workers in manufacturing industry. Methods: Daily hassle stress and psycho-social health in manufacturing industry workers were estimated by using the Daily Hassles Scale for Korea Workers (DHS-KW) and general health questionnaire (GHQ), respectively. Results: The subjects were 553 male workers who had never been occupationally exposed to hazardous chemicals, were mean age 39.6 years and mean work duration was 15.66 years. DHS-KW total mean score had significantly higher in young ages (twenties and thirties ages), office workers, managers and daytime workers than other groups. GHQ total mean scores were significantly higher in un-married, daytime and overtime workers than others. DHS-KW and GHQ score correlated that they were negative correlation with age and working years, but was positive correlation with working hours and overtime work. The significant correlation between DHS-KW and GHQ were observed almost variables of DHS-KW and GHQ except a domestic and daily problem in DHS-KW variables. Domestic and daily problems were only significantly correlated with anxiety and insomnia of GHQ variables. Conclusion: This study indicated that physical health was associated with work condition and psychsocial health was mainly associated with domestic and daily problems of DHS-KW variables. Thus, the study on Daily Hassles stress and related with work stress should be further investigated for the comprehensive health program including stress management and coping behavior.

This study was conducted to investigate factors related to experience rate of low back pain(LBP) in the high school students, a questionnaire survey was carried out for 778 high school students in Andong city Kyungsang Pook province from 28th June to 10th July, 1993. The results were as follows: The experience rate of LBP for 778 high school students who were interviewed was 27.1 %. Unknown(47.4 %) was the highest in the cause of LBP. The experience rate of a academical high school students (57.8 %) was higher than the technical high school students(42.7 %) in association according to LBP and school division(P = 0. 001). The experience rate of 18 years old above students (60.2 %) was higher than 17 years old below school students(39.8 %%) in association between LBP and age(P = 0.031). The experience rate of students who go to bed at the hot floored bed (80.1 %) was higher than students who go to bed at the bed room (11.8 %) in association between LBP and room type(P = 0.012). The statisticaly significant variables related to LBP were school division, age and stress. It was revealed by this survey that independent variables related to LBP experience rate of high school students were important health problem. So the prospective research is need by those variables.
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of children's pride and shame on their interactive peer play, mediated by their daily stress. Methods: The participants of this study were 172 five-year-old children (80 boys and 92 girls) attending kindergartens or child-care centers in Chungbuk, Korea. The data were analyzed by descriptive and correlational analyses, and structural equation modeling using SPSS 19.0 and AMOS 21.0. Results: Children's shame had a significant indirect effect on their interactive peer play, including play-disruption, play-disconnection and play-interactions, mediated by daily stress; children's shame had a significant direct effect on play interaction. However, children's pride did not have a direct effect on daily stress and an indirect effect on their interactive peer play. In other words, high levels of shame among children led to high perceived daily stress. In turn, perceived daily stress increased play-disconnection and play-disruption, while it decreased play-interactions. Meanwhile children's shame led to a low level of play-interaction among young children. Conclusion/Implications: The results imply that children's perceived shame would influence their behaviors in social contexts as well as their psychological wellbeing such as the level of daily stress.
In this study, we compared the perceived level of daily hassels between korean and American children. The subjects of this study were 157 Korean and 121 American children in elementary school (5th grade), 156 Korean and 90 American in middle school(7the grade). Daily hassels scale by authors consisted of the school situation, family situation, self, personal relationship and extra situation stress. The main results were as follows; 1. Korean children experienced more stress than America children in school situation, self, persona relationship and extra situation stress. 2. The perceived level of daily hassels scores among Korean and american children are not significantly different by gender. 3. Middle school students experienced more stress than elementary school students in school situation. Especially for the Korean middle school students, school situation was the most stressful factor. 4. For the stress from personal relationship, korean children experienced more stress than American children in every items except problems with by friends and girlfriends. 5. For the stress from extra situation stress, Korean children experienced more stress than American children in every items. From the result, we suggest that educational programs to improve interpersonal relationship skills, self-concept and stress coping skills should be provided for Korean children. And more environmental and educational care should be provided for Korean children, too.
