  • Object recognition is a technology that detects and identifies various objects in images and videos. LBP is a descriptor that operates robustly to illumination variations and is actively used in object recognition. LBP considers the range of neighboring pixels, the order of combining the neighbors after the comparison operation, and the starting position of combining. In particular, the starting position of the LBP becomes the "most significant bit"; it dramatically affects the performance of object recognition. In this paper, based on the N starting positions, the data most similar to the input data are searched in each of the N feature spaces. Object recognition is performed by the confidence measure that can compare different results of each feature space under the same criterion and select the most reliable result. In the experimental results, it was confirmed that there is a difference in performance depending on the starting position of LBP. The proposed method showed a high performance of up to 12.66% compared to the recognition performance of the existing LBP.

  • There is a problem that learning of a prediction model is not well performed depending on the characteristics of each particular matter concentration. To solve this problem, it is necessary to design a prediction model for low concentration and high concentration separately. Therefore, a classification model is needed to classify the concentration of particular matter into low and high concentrations. This paper proposes a classification model to classify low and high concentrations based on the concentration of particular matter. DNN was used as the classification model algorithm, and the classification model was designed by applying the optimal parameters after searching for hyper parameters. As for the result of evaluating the performance of the model, 97.54% of the low concentration classification was measured. And in the case of high concentration classification, 85.51% was measured.

  • In the definition of non additive path, the sum of travel costs of links making up the path is not equal to the path cost. There are a variety of cases that non-additivity assumption does not hold in transportation fields. Nonetheless, traffic equilibrium models are generally built up on the fundamental hypothesis of additivity assumption. In this case traffic equilibrium models are only applicable within restrictive conditions of the path cost being linear functions of link cost. Area-wide road pricing is known as an example of realistic transportation situations, which violates such additivity assumption. Because travel fare is charged at the moment of driver's passing by exit gate while identified at entry gate, it may not be added linearly proportional to link costs. This research proposes a novel Wordrop type of traffic equilibrium model in terms of area-wide road pricing schemes. It introduces binary indicator variable for the sake of transforming non-additive path cost to additive. Since conventional shortest path and Frank-Wolfe algorithm can be applied without route enumeration and network representation is not required, it can be recognized more generalized model compared to the pre-proposed approaches. Theoretical proofs and case studies are demonstrated.

  • In the context of integration of culture and tourism, the effective application of folk art in cultural creative products is of great significance to the development of local cultural industry. Xuzhou paper-cutting is the only world-class intangible cultural heritage project in the northern Jiangsu region of China. Its high humanistic value and artistic characteristics are widely used in modern art design. The application of cultural and creative products relative to paper-cutting in Xuzhou mainly focuses on two-dimensional decorative and ornamental products, which is short of diversity in form and not practical. In addition, it doesn't meet the aesthetic needs of living of modern people, This article studies paper-cut works by Wang Guiying and proposes principles for the design of cultural and creative products relative to paper-cutting by analyzing the typical "goose" pattern in Wang's paper cutting handcrafts. By exploring the application value of Xuzhou paper-cutting in cultural and creative product design and demonstrating the feasibility of the design principles via visiting experts, this article hopes to provide some reference for the modern inheritance and innovative development of paper-cutting culture.

  • High school 'science' in the 2009 revised curriculum in Korea was developed for the purpose of enhancing students' scientific literacy needed for citizenship in a democratic society. For this analysis, 'science' includes a variety of scientific topics from the origin of the universe to the birth of life, and the relationship between technology and modern society. It aims to make students understand the process of scientific inquiry and foster interest and curiosity about science. On the other hand, interest has been studied as a psychological construct to affect academic achievement and career selection of students. In this study, the authors investigated students' interest in high school 'science' in view of the 2009 revised curriculum. To carry this out, a survey tool was developed according to previous research, with 997 high school students' responses analyzed with descriptive statistics and factor analysis. The result showed that the students' interest in high school 'science' in view of the 2009 revised curriculum can be interpreted into three dimensions such as motivation, activity, and topic, which has several sub-dimensions. Students' interest in motivation dimension was higher than in activity or topic dimension, while the average value was slightly higher than the middle value. They showed different distribution of interest by gender and job orientation, especially in activity and topic dimensions. From this study, the authors can infer the multi-dimensional property of students' interest in high school 'Science' and the different distribution of interest by dimensions.

  • It is reported that about 80% of deer antlers (Cervi Pantotricuhum Cornu) produced in the world are consumed in Korea. Fraudulent replacement or mislabeling of costly deer antlers with cheaper ones, however, is one of the most common problems in the Korean deer antler market. Therefore, there is a continuous need for the development of genetic markers to discriminate between genuine and fraudulent deer antlers. This study was performed to develop a method for the identification and authentication of deer antlers using nucleotide sequence analysis against displacement loop of mitochondrial genome among four deer antlers, Cervus eleaphus sibericus, Cervus eleaphus bactrianus, Cervus eleaphus Canadensis, and Cervus eleaphus, originated from Russia, China, North America and New Zealand, respectively. As a result, multiple-alignment of mitochondrial displacement (D) loop region in 1.2 kb showed that, among the four deer antlers, a deleted sequence of about 70 bps was only found in Cervus elaphus bactrianus from China. Finally, Cervus elaphus bactrianus among nine samples of deer antlers were successfully identified by PCR using primer amplifying deleted D-loop. Cervus elaphus bactrianus was also confirmed from cloning the PCR products and their nucleotide sequence analyses were confirmed. However, no marker to identify Cervus eleaphus sibericus, Cervus eleaphus canadensis and Cervus eleaphus were found in the nucleotide sequences of mitochondrial D-loop. Our results suggest that PCR for deleted D-loop region of mitochondrial DNA are useful for identification and authentication of deer antlers of Cervus elaphus bactrianus originating from China.

  • Four different parts of Hovenia dulcis $T_{HUNB}$; fruit, bark, vessel area, fruit coat were extracted with water and ethanol. The ethanol extracts of bark, fruit coat and fruit were fractionized into diethyl ether, chloroform and aqueous partitions. Ethanol extract of fruit coat increased the activity of cathepsin B up to 55 %, which can enhance the alcohol dehydration in the liver. The ethanol extracts was more effective than water extracts against the growth of Hep3B, MCF7. The ethanol extracts of bark (0.5mg/ml) inhibited 90% the growth of MCF7. Each extracts and fractions (0.5mg/ml) did not show considerable cytotoxicity on HEL299. In overall, most of the fractions had similar effects to ethanol extracts; however, diethyl ether and chloroform fractions had higher bioactivity than ethanol extracts, but aqueous fraction.

  • The gibberellins (GAs) play important roles in plant growth and development. Twenty three fungi were isolated from the roots of Lindera obtusiloba and Vaccinium koreanum. The numbers of GA-producing fungi were six strains from Lindera obtusiloba and four strains from Vaccinium koreanum. The fungi with GAs-producing activity were incubated for seven days in 40 ml of Czapek's liquid medium at $25^{\circ}C$, 120 rpm, and the amount of each GA in the medium was measured by gas chromatography-mass spectrometer (GC-MS) to determine the productivity of GAs. Penicillium griseofulvum KNU5379 produced more GA in case of $GA_{3}$ than Neurospora crassa known as a GAs-producing fungus. P. griseofulvum KNU5379 was shown to produce $GA_1\;9.79\;ng,\;GA_3\;133.58\;ng,\;GA_4\;2.64\;ng,\;GA_7\;7.80\;ng\;and\;GA_{53}\;0.73\;ng$ in 25 ml of liquid medium. Bioassay using culture fluid of GAs-production fungi was performed on rice sprout.
