A Comparative Study of Approximation Techniques on Design Optimization of a FPSO Riser Support Structure (FPSO Riser 지지구조의 설계최적화에 대한 근사화 기법의 비교 연구)

  • The paper deals with the comparative study of design optimization based on various approximation techniques in strength design of riser support structure installed on floating production storage and offloading unit(FPSO) using offshore operation loading conditions. The design optimization problem is formulated such that structural member sizing variables are determined by minimizing the weight of riser support structure subject to the constraints of structural strength in terms of loading conditions. The approximation techniques used in the comparative study are response surface method based sequential approximate optimization(RBSAO), Kriging based sequential approximate optimization(KBSAO), and the enhanced moving least squares method(MLSM) based approximate optimization such as CF(constraint feasible)-MLSM and Post-MLSM. Commercial process integration and design optimization(PIDO) tools are employed for the applications of RBSAO and KBSAO. The enhanced MLSM based approximate optimization techniques are newly developed to ensure the constraint feasibility. In the context of numerical performances such as design solution and computational cost, the solution results from approximate techniques based design optimization are compared to actual non-approximate design optimization.

Performance of Adaptive Correlator using Recursive Least Square Backpropagation Neural Network in DS/SS Mobile Communication Systems (DS/SS 이동 통신에서 반복적 최소 자승 역전파 신경망을 이용한 적응 상관기)

  • In this paper, adaptive correlator model using backpropagation neural network based on complex multilayer perceptron is presented for suppressing interference of narrow-band of direct sequence spread spectrum receiver in CDMA mobile communication systems. Recursive least square backpropagation algorithm with backpropagation error is used for fast convergence and better performance in adaptive correlator scheme. According to signal noise ratio and transmission power ratio, computer simulation results show that bit error ratio of adaptive correlator uswing backpropagation neural network improved than that of adaptive transversal filter of direct sequence spread spectrum considering of co-channel and narrow-band interference. Bit error ratio of adaptive correlator using backpropagation neural network is reduced about $10^{-1}$ than that of adaptive transversal filter where interference versus signal ratio is 5 dB.

3D localization of internal noise source based on Doppler effect (도플러 효과를 기반으로한 내부 소음원의 3차원 위치 추정)

  • This study deals with a method to localize a noise source occuring in a marine vehicle in a 3D environment. Even when access to the noise source is limited for a marine vehicle, such as a ship or a submarine in operation, the signal received on a hydrophone located elsewhere contains Doppler effected noise by moving relatively. This study suggests noise localization algorithm in 3D based on Doppler effect by moving marine vehicle. Using a known source mounted on the vehicle, the noise source was estimated by reducing the range of Doppler center and closest point of approach via the least square method. The algorithm was verified through various simulations and it was shown that the noise could be localized in 3D based on Doppler effect by employing two fixed hydrophones located at the vehicle's exterior points and a known reference signal generator located somewhere on the vehicle.

  • The comparative study of regression-model-based approximate optimization techniques used in the strength design of an automotive knuckle component that will be under bump and brake loading conditions is carried out. The design problem is formulated such that the cross-sectional sizing variables are determined by minimizing the weight of the knuckle component that is subjected to stresses, deformations, and vibration frequency constraints. The techniques used in the comparative study are sequential approximate optimization (SAO), sequential two-point diagonal quadratic approximate optimization (STDQAO), and approximate optimization based on enhanced moving least squares method (MLSM), such as CF (constraint feasible)-MLSM and Post-MLSM. Commercial process integration and design optimization (PIDO) tools are utilized for the application of SAO and STDQAO. The enhanced MLSM-based approximate optimization techniques are newly developed to ensure constraint feasibility. The results of the approximate optimization techniques are compared with those of actual non-approximate optimization to evaluate their numerical performances.

  • 본 논문에서는 도심지 이동 통신에서 SINR 성능을 향상시키기 위해 기존의 배열 안테나에 최소 평균 자승(LMS) 알고리즘을 적용하여 실제 배열 출력과 이상적 출력간의 최소 평균 오차(MSE)를 최소화하고 안테나의 배열로부터 가중치를 결합한 신호에 의해 방향성을 적절히 제어하여 간섭신호를 효과적으로 제거한다. 배열 출력 신호 대 간섭에 추가된 잡음비(SINR) 성능 분석에 적합한 삼차원적 분석을 사용하여 적응 배열 원소를 사용한 성능과 모노폴 안테나 원소에서 배열의 성능을 비교한다. 또한, SINR 패턴 각 비(PAR)를 사용하여 적응 배열 원소 방위, 내부 원소간의 간격들 그리고 입사 신호 방향들과 같은 다른 배열 매개 변수들에서 배열 성능을 계산하고 SINR 패턴의 양적 평가를 한다. 결과로서, 적응 배열 원소가 가정된 신호 환경에 있어 4상파형(quarterwave) 모노폴(monopole) 안테나 배열보다 더 바람직하다.

  • 최근 늘어나는 전력 수요에 따라, 세계적으로 전력에너지 절감을 통한 수요자원 확보 및 활용을 위한 부하 예측의 중요성이 증가하고 있다. 본 논문에서는, 수요관리용 전지전력저장시스템을 효율적으로 운영하고 계획하는데 필수적인 부하예측의 정확성을 높이기 위하여 이동평균법, 지수가중이동평균법, 최소자승법, 인공신경망 방법을 적용하였다. 시계열 데이터인 부하 데이터를 분석하여 최대부하일, 근무일, 토요일, 공휴일로 분류하였고, 각각의 방법으로 예측한 부하를 적용시켜 전기요금 절감을 목표로 하는 전지전력저장시스템의 최적 충 방전 운전계획을 세웠으며, 이를 이용하여 산출된 전기요금과 실제 전기요금을 비교 분석하였다.

An Improved Finite Element Method by Adding Arbitrary Nodes in a Domain (임의의 절점 추가에 의한 개선 유한요소법)

  • In the present paper, in the context of the meshless interpolation of a moving least squares (MLS) type, a novel method which uses primary and secondary nodes in the domain and on the global boundary is introduced, in order to improve the accuracy of solution. The secondary nodes can be placed at any location where one needs to obtain a better resolution. The support domains for the shape functions in the MLS approximation are defined from the primary nodes, and the secondary nodes use the same support domains. The shape functions based on the MLS approximation, in an integration domain, have a single type of a rational function, which reduces the difficulty of numerical integration to evaluate the weak form. The present method is very useful in an adaptive calculation, because the secondary nodes can be easily added and moved without an additional mesh. Several numerical examples are presented to illustrate the effectiveness of the present method.

  • An advanced computational strategy for improvement of the accuracy of the structural analysis is developed in this paper. The finite elements connecting the primary nodes are constructed as a ground mesh in a domain, and the secondary nodes can be placed arbitrarily without reconstruction of a mesh. The support domains of the secondary nodes are defined on the basis of finite element mesh, and the shape functions are constructed by using MLS(moving least square) approximations. The present method is useful for controlling the errors without reconstruction of mesh when you add or remove nodes in a domain.

  • In this paper, passive direction-finding localization of the emitter using noisy line-of-bearing (LOB) measurements is considered. The performance of the LOB-based emitter localization using linear LSE algorithm is given. The Dependence of the performance on bias of emitter location and sensor trajectory is illustrated using the numerical results.

  • DS/CDMA 시스템은 이동통신 시스템에서 다중경로, 고의적인 반방해 전파 및 동일대역폭을 공유하기 위한 다중 사용자에 의해 발생되는 협대역 간섭과 부가적인 백색가우시안 잡음을 제거한다. 본 논문에서는 다계층 퍼셉트론을 기반으로 한 역전파 신경망을 이용한 정합필터 채널 모델이 DS/CDMA 이동 통신 시스템에서 직접 순차 확산 스펙트럼의 협대역 간섭을 고려하면서 신호 대 잡음비와 전송 전력비에 따른 컴퓨터시뮬레이션 결과는 역전파 신경망을 이용한 정합 필터의 비트 에러율이 직접 순차 확산 스펙트럼의 RAKE 수신기의 비트 에러 율보다 적음을 입증하였다.
