Analysis on the Chatting Language of Elementary School Students (초등학생들이 사용하는 채팅 언어의 분석)

  • In this research, we analyze chatting language of elementary school students, present the properties which are a result of this analysis and propose the method to solve it. Analysis on the chatting language considering organic relation of sentences is classified into syntactic, semantic and statistical characteristics. As a result of analysis, new characteristics is discovered writing by the way children pronounce their words, writing by switching the order of syllable's frontal and rear ends, inarticulate conversation of the other man. To minimize language misuse and to establish a chatting culture that is favorable to the development of children's emotional development, we propose the methods of computer system.

Edit Distance Problem for the Korean Alphabet with Phoneme Classification System (음소의 분류 체계를 이용한 한글 편집 거리 알고리즘)

  • The edit distance problem is finding the minimum number of edit operations to transform a string into another one. It is one of the important problems in algorithm research and there are some algorithms that compute an optimal edit distance for the one-dimensional languages such as the English alphabet. However, there are a few researches to find the edit distance for the more complicated language such as the Korean or Chinese alphabet. In this paper, we define the measure of the edit distance for the Korean alphabet with the phoneme classification system to improve the previous edit distance algorithm and present an algorithm for the edit distance problem for the Korean alphabet.

Comments Classification System using Topic Signature (Topic Signature를 이용한 댓글 분류 시스템)

  • In this work, we describe comments classification system using topic signature. Topic signature is widely used for selecting feature in document classification and summarization. Comments are short and have so many word spacing errors, special characters. We firstly convert comments into 7-gram. We consider the 7-gram as sentence. We convert the 7-gram into 3-gram. We consider the 3-gram as word. We select key feature using topic signature and classify new inputs by the Naive Bayesian method. From the result of experiments, we can see that the proposed method is outstanding over the previous methods.

자음의 단어내 음운환경별로 본 음가변화

  • Acoustic cues of some consonantal phonology were tested in Korean words. All Korean consonants were recorded and acoustically analyzed in controlled phonological environments :ⅰ) word-initial, ⅱ) inter-vocalic, and ⅲ) word-final positions. The observed acoustic regulations are : ⅰ) The lengths of obstruents are longer word-initially than word-finally, ⅱ) The lengths of sonorants are longer word-finally than in word-initial or inter-vocalic positions, ⅲ) The formants of the lateral sound /l/ are higher word-finally than intervocalically. The phonological explanations of these acoustic regulations can be found in the rules of ⅰ) inter-vocalic voicing of plain stops, ⅱ) syllable-final unreleasing of obstruents, ⅲ) word-initial aspiration of stops, and ⅳ) liquid alternation between [r] and [l]. Numerical data of all these acoustic regulations are reported in order to facilitate their application toward improving naturalness for speech synthesis and accurateness for speech recognition.

  • The purpose of this study was to design and develop a multimedia program for elementary school students' emergent literacy teaching. The program aims at helping students improve their reading ability and enhance their letter decoding ability through drill-and-practice as well as tutorial instructional strategies. To that end, the instructional materials were reorganized so as to provide a basic syllable table and writing examples with standard pronunciation. The multimedia program is composed of three sections: basic literacy teaching, advanced literacy teaching, and evaluation sections. The implications of the study were discussed.

  • 미국 남부 방언은 그 지역의 광대함과 아울러 그 지역에 속하는 언어사용자들의 언어 문화 및 역사적인 다양성에 의해 결코 한 가지 방언으로 취급할 수 없는 것임에도 불구하고 많은 경우에 그렇게 다루어져 왔다. 특히 소위 '남부 방언의 특징적 요소'로서 몇몇 자질들에 대한 연구가 많이 이루어져 왔다. 본 논문의 목적은 텍사스 지역방언에 이러한 남부 방언의 특징적 자질이 어느 정도 유지되고 있는가를 알아보고, 아울러 두 세대간에 언어적 차이가 있는지, 있다면 그 변화의 방향은 어느 쪽으로 전개되어가고 있는지를 밝히려는 데 있다. 이를 위하여 토박이 텍사스 인에 한하여 한 가정에서 두 세대(늙은 세대와 젊은 세대)를 대표하는 정보제공자 두 명씩을 각각 추출하여 네 가정 모두 여덟 명에게서 얻은 언어자료를 녹음하여 이를 분석, 정리하였다. 텍사스 지역방언에 대해 밝혀진 주요 내용은 다음과 같다. 1. /l/앞에 나오는 단순모음 /i/는 [$r{\partial}$] 또는 [$r{\partial}$]로 이중모음화된다. 2. 강세음절에서 비음 앞에 나오는 /e/와 /I/는 중화된다. 3. 늙은 세대에서는 /a/와 /${\supset}$/가 융합되어 쓰이나, 젊은 세대에서는 융합이 일어나지 않는다. 4. 이중모음 /ar/는 /a:/또는 /a/로 단순모음화하는 것으로 보인다. 5. 이중로음 /$a{\mho}$/ /$o{\mho}$/의 앞모음이 전설화한다. 6. [u], [ju] 와 [${\mho}$]는 모두 [${\mho}$]로 된다. 7. [w] 와 [M]는 일관성 없이 교대로 사용되나 [M]는 특히 늙은 세대에서 더 많이 사용된다.

A study of the estimation for sound property in the classroom (강의실에서의 음향특성 평가에 관한 연구)

  • In order to establish the environmental condition of sounds in the classroom, we measured the impulse response in cases of using and not-using PA(Public-Address). By calculating the physical index of acoustics, I examined the differences between the two cases. The degree of improvement in listening with the help of PA has also been studied by testing the voice articulation with the use of the measured impulse response. As a result, I found that the clearness is enhanced by increasing the sound pressure level in the case of short reverberation. However, it was not the case when the reverberation time was long.

A Neural Network Based Korean Segmental Duration Modeling Using Tonal Information of Phonemes (음소별 성조 정보를 이용한 신경망 기반의 한국어 음소 지속시간 모델링)

  • The accurate estimation of segmental duration is crucial for natural-sounding text-to-speech synthesis. For predicting Korean segmental durations, conventional methods utilized phonemic context, part-of-speech context and locational information in prosodic phrase. In this paper, the tonal information of phonemes is employed for more accurate prediction. After defining two non-boundary tones and six boundary tones, we annotated the tonal label on each syllable of 400 sentences. To predict segmental duration using tonal information, we constructed neural networks with a real-valued output node predicting phonemic duration and trained them by backpropagation algorithm. Experimental results showed that the proposed features are effective for predicting Korean segmental durations, and we got 0.863 correlation coefficient of the observed durations and predicted ones.

  • Based on the Characteristics of the correlation function of speech signal, the skipping technique can reduced the computation time considerably with a little degradation of speech quality. To improve the speech quality of the skipping technique, we use the reduced form of the correlation function to check the sign of the correlation value before the match score is calculated. The experimental results show that this modified skipping technique can reduce the computation time in pitch search over 35% compared with the traditional full search method without quality degradation.

Automatic English MeSH keywords assignment to Korean medical documents - spacing variant effect (한국어 의학 문서에 대한 영문 MeSH 키워드의 자동 부여 - 띄어쓰기 변이 처리 효과를 중심으로)

  • 본 논문에서는 한국어 의학 논문의 요약문으로부터 자동 영문 MeSH 키워드 제안 시스템을 소개하고, 띄어쓰기 변이(spacing variant) 문제를 해결할 수 있는 방법을 제안한다. 띄어쓰기 변이란 표준 한글 맞춤법에 비해 다르게 띄어쓰기된 것을 말한다. 이를 위해 시소러스에는 생성 가능한 모든 띄어쓰기 변이 대신에 최대 띄어쓰기 어구만을 저장하고, 문서에서 K-MeSH 용어를 찾기 위해 음절단위 부분문자열 검색을 사용한다. 이 방법으로 한국어 의학 논문의 요약문에서 K-MeSH 용어를 추출한 후, TF-IDF 순위 함수를 이용하여 상위 10위내의 키워드를 저자가 선정한 영문 키워드와 비교한 결과 58%가 일치하였다. 이는 기존 방법에 비해 42%정도의 시소러스 크기가 축소되었고, 상위 10위내에서 영문 MeSH 키워드 추천 재현률이 약 7.8% 증가한 것으로 효과적인 방법임을 보여주었다.
