Performance Evaluation on Water-mist Extinguishing System of Railway Vehicles (철도차량 미분무수 소화설비 성능 평가)

  • The test system for the performance of the water-mist extinguishing system in the railway vehicle is equipped and the details of the system are introduced. The three scenarios using different fire sources and performance criteria for the water-mist systems on railway vehicles are also introduced. Three different type of the nozzle at same operating pressure are evaluated. Amount of water-mist distribution is measured by many baskets on the bottom of the test room. Temperature on the ceil and the tree of the test room is measured during the tests that are used for the judgement of the performance on the water-mist extinguishing system.

  • The revision was proposed for methods A-weighted sound pressure measurement for fans, blowers and compressors in order to apply newly developed measurement techniques to KS B 6361 established in 1987. This proposal includes modification of terminologies, revision of sound power methods for radiated sound from the body, inclusion of In-duct measurement method, and correction method for flow noise upon microphon.

  • Two-dimensional direct numerical simulation of the edge-tones by the finite difference lattice Boltzmann method (FDLBM) is presented. We use a new lattice BGK compressible fluid model that has an additional term and allow larger time increment comparing the conventional FDLBM, and also use a boundary fitted coordinates. We have succeeded in capturing very small pressure fluctuations result from periodically oscillation of jet around the edge. That pressure fluctuations propagate with the sound speed. It is clarified that the sound wave generated in rather wide region and individual vortices do not affect the sound wave propagation.

  • De-Laval 노즐에서 경계층 배제두께의 음수현상에 대하여 수학적 모델을 통한 수치 고찰 한 결과 배제두께 뿐만 아니라 다음과 같은 경계층의 특성을 알 수 있었다. (1)온도비($T_w/T_0$)가 작아질수록 경계층 두께가 상대적으로 커진다. (2)운동량두께의 변화도 단열 벽면이 아닌 경우에는, 비압축성(${\rho}=const$) 유체 보다. 온도비가 작을수록 항상 커진다. (3) 경계층 배제두께는 온도비가 작은 경우 음(―)의 값을 나타내고 있어, 유효유동 단면적의 확대 현상을 보이고 있다.

  • Researches in the area of aeroacoustics have been conducted by two methods. In the first method theoretical formula or experimentation are utilized, and in the second method flow field analysis and acoustic analogy are utilized. In contrast to the first method, the second method does not need new experiments for every individual change of flow configurations and conditions, and it can predict their effects by the flow field analysis, which makes the second method preferred than the first one. In this paper numerical analysis to predict noise generated by a turbulent flow about a two dimensional circular cylinder by use of CAA (Computational Aeroacoustics) method is conducted and the results are compared to the available experimental data.

  • Acoustic sounds generated by a uniform flow around a two-dimensional circular cylinder at Re=200 are simulated using finite difference lattice Boltzmann method. A third-order-accurate up-wind scheme is used for spartial derivatives, and a second-order-accurate Runge-Kutta scheme is used for time marching. The results show that in capturing very small acoustic pressure fluctuation with same frequency of Karman vortex street compared with the pressure fluctuation around a circular cylinder. The propagation velocity of acoustic sound is presented that acoustic which approaches tire upstream due to Doppler effect in the uniform flow slowly propagates, while that for the downstream quickly propagates. It is also apparent that the size of sound pressure is proportional for central distance $r^{-1/2}$ of the cylinder.

  • In Computer Graphics, interaction between a particle-based fluid and a rigid body is important. In General, this interaction has been simulated in a discrete environment. As a result, there have been lots of errors. The larger the time step is used, the bigger the error is. This paper describes how to minimize the error in a discrete environment. To be specific, the collision handling method is that estimates particle collision using a signed distance function increases continuously according to space. At the time a fluid particle and a rigid body model collide, the exact collision time and the position is estimated. Through this, we propose the method how to be simulated the interaction between a fluid and a rigid body model as a continuous environment.

  • The purpose of this study was to quantitatively correlate the change of flow velocity and signal voiding in TOF-MRA. We made our phantom to control the flow velocity, and changed the flow velocity in 16 steps from 8.0 to 127.3 mc/s. The TOF-MRA test was performed using a 3.0T MRI system and the signal intensity was measured by classifying the signal voiding length and image into the In flow, Mid flow, and Out flow. The length of signal voiding was the longest when the flow velocity was 127.3 cm/s and the signal intensity decreased with increasing flow velocity(p<0.05). In flow(-.547) and Mid flow(-.643) were negatively correlated with flow velocitys(p<0.05). In conclusion, it was confirmed that the increase in flow velocity was a major factor causing signal voiding in TOF-MRA. In the future, this study will provide basic data when studying sequences and parameters to reduce signal voiding in models with a high flow velocity.

  • (1) 진공청소기의 소음은 팬모타의 회전에 기인하는 유체소음과 진동소음이 주류를 이루며, 여기에 공기의 흡입과 배출에 따른 유체소음등이 복합되어 나타난다. (2) 진공청소기의 소음특성은 각 소음원들의 특성에 따라 주파수대역을 구분할 수 있으며, 기계적 진동음인 500Hz부근에서 peak를 보인다. (3) 소음의 저감을 위하여는 기존에 정립되어 있는 흡음, 차음, 감쇠, 방진, 유압유속감소 등의 기술을 종합적으로 활용하여 제한된 공간내에서 효과를 극대화할 수 있는 구조개발이 필요하며 본 연구에 적용하였다. (4) 본 연구의 '정음유로구조'는 차음효과, 유로길이 증가에 의한 감쇠효과, 흡음효과를 극대화할 수 있는 구조이다. (5) 팬모타의 진동모드는 회전축을 중심으로 원운동을 하며, 진동량은 흡입구와 뒷쪽 베어링부위가 가장 작으므로 회전축에 가까운 곳을 지지하는 것이 방진에 유리하다. (6) 본 구조에서 사용된 케이싱은 484Hz의 고유진동수 성분을 가지며 이는 모타와 공진할 우려가 있다. 이에 공진주파수 성분의 진동량이 가장 작은 전면과 후면의 중앙부를 지지하여 진동을 줄일 수 있었다. (7) 본체소음의 전반적인 저감에 따라 흡입구 등에서 발생하는 공기마찰소음의 영향이 상대적으로 커지며, 따라서 흡입구의 유선형 설계 및 누설소음의 흡음, 차폐 등의 역할이 중요한 관리 요소로 된다.

On the Characteristics of Hydrodynamic Forces in a Restricted Water (제한수역에서의 동유체력에 대한 고찰)

  • A study has been made on the hydrodynamic forces on and the motion response of a sliding block in a bay within the framework of linear potential theory. To simplify the problem, following assumptions are made : The configuration of the bay is a long channel with narrow width, constant depth and straight coastline. Incident waves are long compared to the depth. We applied matched asymptotic expansion techniques. The flued domain is subdivided into three regions ; ocean, bay entrance, bay regions. Boundary-vague problems are solved first in each region. Then unknown coefficients are determined by matching individual solutions at the intermediate region between two neighboring legions. It is found that the motion of the block is greatly amplified at the resonant frequencies, in particular at the quarter wavelength mode. We examined the mechanism of negative added mass, which results from the localized hydrodynamic resonance.
