Design and Implementation of RTLS using Active RFID (능동형 RFID를 이용한 RTLS의 설계 및 구현)

  • Interest to the RTLS that is one of RFID applications is increasing in recent. The RTLS(Real Time Locating Systems) is one of applications for locating and tracking using RFID tags which are attached to something like container, pallet, or all the things. This paper presents the design and the implementation of an RTLS system using 433MHz active RFID tags and use radio frequency to provide the scalability. Our system we developed using RFID platform takes into account an RTLS standard. Also, in this paper a routing protocol is included to data delivery to server via each reader. In order to perform the evaluation, in addition, some experiments in out door are performed and results such as error metric and distance are also included. Furthermore, simulation for the routing protocol we supposed is also included.

  • Due to the rapid development of Internet technology, qualities of Web services are steadily improving and the Web database systems are actively employed to efficiently manage proper informations in various fields. In this paper, we propose a Web database system for the efficient material management for reusing construction materials. The proposed Web-based management system is operated using the spring framework, after constructing a database based on the collected data including tag ID, Location, Material, State, and Cycle, using the RFID(: Radion Frequency IDentification) system equipped with a location estimation module. Recently, the processing problem for a large amount of the residues generated at the demolition stage of various buildings is magnified in the construction site. The proposed Web-based construction material management system is expected for improving the processing problem as increasing the reusability and for reducing the construction cost as efficiently managing the construction materials for the reuse.

  • Impulse Radio Ultra Wide Band (IR-UWB) system can be used to wireless position location system because of its unique very short pulse in the order of nanosecond. A few algorithms have been proposed to calculate location of sensors or tags. In this paper, we compare these algorithms and propose 'TDoA with wireless synchronization' as practical solution. Earlier algorithms need special logic to fix the duration to receive and send pulse or assume synchronization with wire. In proposed method, beacons synchronize each other using impulse and nodes can be made simple and cheap. We evaluated the performance and it shows 50% improved accuracy at the error range of 50cm.

  • As the number of elderly people living alone has been increasing in the recent years, systems for their safety have been required, and some related services or pilot systems have been operating. These systems provide the monitoring service for the activities of the elderly people living alone with indoor location tracking technology using the various sensors. However, most systems provide services on expensive infrastructure such as attached tags and mobile devices. In this point, this paper attempts to suggest a system based on low cost sensors to collect event data in home environment. And a main characteristic of the system is that people can monitor the results of provided services through web browser in real time and the system can provide related context information to guardians and health care managers through SMS of mobile phone.

  • The design disaster prevention of first consideration is security for the people in the buildings. However, it is difficult to make a project for considering variable cases, declined visibility of smoke, distance from another person, mentality, knowledge of clearway etc. This study purpose is, analysis variable cases and modularization of pattern movement to practice basic information for evacuation of simulation which is used RTLS (Real Time Location System) system. It is useful to sense the electric waves from the Tag and grasp the real-time position. The pattern movement of evacuation were analyzed prescription eyeglasses which is used RTLS system to consider following 3 actions; analysis of relations that declined visibility effect the decline of movement velocity, analysis rate of flow with the size of door to estimate the optimum size of door in building and analysis the pattern movement that a bottleneck situation with abundant of people passed together to these exit. The confirmed of propriety of the interpretation about the actual people to evacuate is expected applying the numerical formula in various situation.

  • In this paper, we developed a WMS (Warehouse Management System) Simulator. There is no Simulator that supports optimized design for Warehouse, consider goods which storage in warehouse and using RFID and USN based on cable wireless network. Also, there is no tool for monitoring which decides delivery time with information about temperature, humidity and illumination, after goods are stocked into warehouse. In this paper, WMS Simulator Implements function of drawing a blueprint. The Simulator that can analyze moving information of Palette with RFID tags and the change about temperature, humidity and illumination is developed in this paper. Inventory accuracy, space equipment practical use, and decreasing of picking time, faulty storage and product loss by product processing ability elevation are expected by designing the way of operating of warehouse for most suitable use of system in physical distribution through these treatise.

A Study on Development of a Smart Wellness Robot Platform (스마트 웰니스 로봇 플랫폼 개발에 관한 연구)

  • This paper developed a home wellness robot platform to perform the roles in basic health care and life care in an aging society. A robotic platform and a sensory platform were implemented for an indoor wellness service. In the robotic platform, the precise mobility and the dexterous manipulation are not only developed in a symbiotic service-robot, but they also ensure the robot architecture of human friendliness. The mobile robot was made in the agile system, which consists of Omni-wheels. The manipulator was made in the anthropomorphic system to carry out dexterous handwork. In the sensing platform, RF tags and stereo camera were used for self and target localization. They were processed independently and cooperatively for accurate position and posture. The wellness robot platform was integrated in a real-time system. Finally, its good performance was confirmed through live indoor tests for health and life care.

  • UWB is a type of technology used for indoor positioning and is characterized by higher accuracy than RSSI-based schemes. Mobile equipment operating based on ROS can monitor the environment around the equipment using lidar and cameras. When applying the loop closing technique to determine the starting position in this monitoring process, the existing method has a problem of low accuracy because the closing operation occurs only when there are feature points on the image. In this paper, to solve this problem, we designed a system that increases the accuracy of loop closing work by providing location information by mounting a UWB tag on a mobile device. In addition, the accuracy of the UWB-based indoor positioning system was evaluated through experiments, and it was verified that it could be used for loop closing techniques.
